My mum was waiting with sex gurus
as I lost my virginity: Shirley
Maclaine´s girl reveals another

In Downton Abbey she has won over a new legion of fans as the pushy matriarch Martha Levinson, but another side of Shirley MacLaine has emerged in a new book. Her daughter Sachi Parker says that during a bizarre episode in the 1970s, Shirley was all for her losing her virginity. In a shocking memoir released this weekend in America, Lucky Me: My Life With–And Without–My Mom, Sachi says that the 78-year-old actress took little interest in her life until she was 17. Then, she and her boyfriend, Brad, were invited to the star’s California beachfront flat

Comments:
People pay for Hollywood perverts to sow their ideas in family living rooms across the nation, then wonder why their kids go so far astray.

Shirley has always been a classic nut job, even in all her earlier lives.

Her brother is a nut job too. They must have had some really flaky parents.

I hated her as Cora´s mom on Downton Abbey, and was glad when she left.

Julian Fellowes must REALLY hate Americans.

Rick James superfreak was waiting with incense, wine and candles. Poor Sachi´s was waiting with sex gurus. Shirley´s got more than one screw loose. Who puts a 2yo on a plane to Japan by herself.

Gee thanks, mom. With a mother like Shirley, who needed any bad influences among their friends...

Can´t say that I am surprised. Have always thought Mom was trash.

I was not happy to hear she would be in season 3 of Downton Abbey. I was glad that her appearance was a brief one.

She has always been on the crazy side and I have never cared for her or her acting.

She was a nutcase when she was fifteen years old. I shared a dancing class with her in the early ´30s in Richmond, Virginia. Even then, she was, well, out of her tree.

That poor little girl - to have trash like that for a mom. Never liked her in movies and now hopefully will never see her ugly face again.

Shirley was obviously embarrassed that her daughter was still a virgin at 17.

I can´t remember who wrote this one review of Andrew Breitbart´s Hollywood, Interrupted, but the writer referred to the denizen´s of Hollywood´s royalty as coked up sociopaths. It struck me as one of the best descriptions of Hollywood movie stars.
I just laugh when they lecture the rest of us about the way we should think or live.
Shirley Maclaine should have been committed.

Shirley Maclain and her brother, Warren Beatty, always seemed like odd individuals. What kind of childhood did they have?

I remember decades ago when Shirley said she left her daughter to be raised by her dad since she (Shirley) knew he´d be the better parent. Shirley is a wonderful actress, I love her movies, but as a person she lacked even the most basic instinct a woman has.

As for weird parents and their child losing their virginity, my ex-husband´s niece got married at 16 and her parents went with her and her husband on their honeymoon. They actually took a picture of her the morning after, sitting on the bed. That´s just unbelievably icky.

#21, a similar thing happened to a close relative of mine who got married. The honeymoon was wilderness camping and groom´s mother came along. Very creepy.
The pecking order was established...

The article quotes her agent as saying Shirley has tried to make amends with her daughter. So that means she´s guilty of transgressions against the daughter.

I am not surprised.

Thought she was great in Around The World In 80 Days, Guarding Tess & Bernie, but didn´t care to watch many of other her movies in-between.

She was absolutely terrible on Downton Abbey--fortunately gone after 2 episodes.

A hotly contested gun-control law that was passed in 2007 is finally ready to be implemented, Attorney General Kamala Harris said Friday: a requirement that every new semiautomatic handgun contain "micro-stamping" technology that would allow police to trace a weapon from cartridges found at a crime scene. The law, signed by then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, made California the first state to require micro-stamping, which engraves the gun´s serial number on each cartridge. A second ´house of horrors´ abortion clinic is being investigated in Texas, just days after Dr Kermit Gosnell was found guilty of murdering newborns at his Philadelphia termination center. Houston doctor Douglas Karpen is accused by four former employees of delivering live fetuses during third-trimester abortions and killing them by either snipping their spinal cord, stabbing a surgical instrument into their heads or ´twisting their heads off their necks with his own bare hands´. Other times the fetus was so big he would have to pull it out of the womb in pieces, Karpen´s ex-assistant, Deborah Edge, said

President Francois Hollande will decide by the end of July whether France should impose new taxes on technology giants like Apple and Google to finance cultural projects, a move that could feed into an anti-business image days after a spat with Yahoo!. The Socialist government asked former Canal Plus CEO Pierre Lescure to find new ways of funding culture during an economic downturn, in line with France´s "cultural exception" argument that such projects must be shielded from market forces. While far from becoming laws, the proposals could worsen tension between France and technology giants after Industry Minister Arnaud Montebourg

Montgomery, Alabama – Acting state Democratic Party Chairwoman Nancy Worley lowered her head and slowly shook it side to side when summing up the financial condition of her once powerful party. "We´re broke, broke, broke," Worley told the party´s Executive Board in a special called meeting Frida. How broke is broke? Worley didn´t sugar coat the answer. "This is my 18th day as chair and thirty minutes after I took over on April 22nd the landlord of the building where our party headquarters are came in and said he wanted us out, that the rent was overdue and was always overdue,"

Trenton — Police officials are examining the response to a 911 call Sunday night that left a city man struggling with an intruder at his building without any officers arriving. Dan Dodson said it was 20 or 30 minutes before two officers eventually arrived in response to his wife’s calls to police telephone numbers. “We’re looking into it to determine if the proper protocols were followed,” Lt. Steve Varn said yesterday evening. Yesterday, Dodson said he was deciding where to buy a baseball bat in case someone else was able to slip into his home. He believes one of the two

The Internal Revenue Service relies on technology more than ever to sniff out tax cheats using robo-audits and data mining—but so far it has caught lot of minnows, and big fish are still eluding detection. Even as millions of people´s accounts are screened online and matched against their digital files elsewhere, the IRS´s data-detection tools come nowhere close to collecting the $400 billion in tax dodges estimated to take place each year. Debris haulers´ windfall:
Odd math jacks up Sandy tab
The Record [Hackensack, NJ], by Shawn Boburg    Original Article

After superstorm Sandy struck, mountains of rubble were collected and taken to temporary storage sites. In Ocean County, those locations included a parking lot in Ortley Beach, a ball field in Bay Head, a recycling center in Berkeley. From there, trucks hauled it all to the county landfill in Manchester. The distances of those trips varied. But on bills submitted by the debris removal firm, they had something in common: They were all recorded as being just over or, in some cases, exactly 16 miles. Coincidence? Doubtful. Under the state’s contract with the cleanup firm, AshBritt Inc., 16 miles is

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen.
