Shouldn´t American citizens be first in line for American jobs? If we aren´t teaching our kids the skills to be successful in the job mrket, shouldn´t we fix the education system starting with making it about the children and learning, not the Union and taxpayer dollars?

So we have no skilled matives who need jobs, huh? First we needed them for jobs that Americans won´t do...Now I guess the lie will be we need them for jobs Americans CAN´T do. I am so sick of all this BS.

We KNOW,personally, good engineers and technicians who are unemployed. Some potential employers find it "more efficient" (meaning cheaper) to hire replacements from Delhi, Islamabad, or Seoul.
Likewise, we KNOW, personally, good people who remain unemployed, because potential employers have hired so many ILLEGAL ALIENS that those lacking Spanish language comfort need not apply. And we´re not talking just in New Mexico, California, or Texas.
Daily I am more convinced we should totally close the borders and freeze all non-spousal immigration for at least 20 years. And summarily deport all illegals found, sending a bill to the nation of origin. No matter what country.

Yeah, more cheap immigrants to chase more Americans out of jobs, and chase your kids out of studying math and science in school because they would have to compete for job with the cheap immigrants. What could go wrong with that?

Granting an amnesty to anywhere between 11 and 20 million illegal aliens and opening up the borders to a yet unknown number of new foreign workers is bound to create a huge glut of foreign born workers in the legal US job market for the scarce jobs out there.

It´s a known fact that foreign workers are willing to work much cheaper then most American workers who are trying to maintain their customary US standard of living. If all that goes through, unfortunately American workers are going to feel the economic disadvantages as their wages stagnate or go down in a lot of industries where those foreign workers can be hired.

It´s just the law of supply and demand in action. That is one of the main reasons why the immigration laws in the past would not legally allow foreign workers into the country to compete with American labor unless individual employer could make a showing that after offering a job at a competitive wage, that they could not find America workers willing to do a certain job for which they had an opening. Apparently that requirement is now going to be abolished.
