It can´t be true. Barry declared that war to be over. Next week we´ll see a photo of him walking down the street in Baghdad, followed by hundreds of grateful Iraqis.

We got involved in this "nation building" baloney following WWII, and it´s been an albatross around our necks ever since. We succeeded in Germany and Japan and we half failed/half succeeded in Korea. It´s been downhill ever since. Total fail in VN followed by eventual total fail in all the ME countries. What we "should" have done in all cases was to bomb them absolutely senseless, then fly away. No Marines or Army on the ground. In each case we did this, it would take 10 years for them to recover. When they do, and if they should became a problem again, it would simply be "rinse and repeat". The heck with the people; they´re responsible for their leadership. Sadly, as are we.

The original involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq can be subject to debate but VN was lost when Congress pulled all support for South VN and the North did an old fashioned invasion that rolled up the South. Now Obama is repeating the same mistake in Iraq and Afghanistan that was made in VN.

There are way more positives than negatives of our going into Iraq. My son was stationed at Kurkuk for a year and really liked the people. My grandson went in with the 1st Marines and said "Iraq is a beautiful, beautiful country". I shudder when I hear people say we should not have gone there. The only problem is Al Queda and in Afganistan, the Taliban. What they do to women and children is horrible. The regular people would like a better life. If Obama gets our guns--look out. He is sending arms and 20 jets to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. People here had better wake up.
