ANKARA, Turkey — A New York City woman who went missing while vacationing alone in Istanbul was found dead on Saturday, and police were questioning 11 people in connection with the case, Turkey´s state-run news agency said. Sarai Sierra, a 33-year-old mother of two, was last heard from on Jan. 21, the day she was to fly home. Her disappearance attracted a lot of interest in Turkey, where the disappearance of tourists is rare, and Istanbul police had set up a special unit to find her. The state-run Anadolu Agency said the body of a woman was discovered Saturday evening near the remnants

Comments:
She was found in a tourist area, though there is speculation she may have been killed elsewhere and her body moved there. Wearing jeans, a jacket, a jumper (Brit for pullover sweater), she had a head wound. No mention of the stabbing reported earlier.

There has to be more to this story. Her decision to make the trip alone makes me wonder what else she might have been doing.
Very strange.

While I mourn the loss of life, I question her need to go to an Islamic country alone. I cant believe she took advice from seasoned travlers to the region.

I was going to say that we usually have to wait until Thanksgiving for a crazy headline like this, but under the circumstances it might be considered in poor taste, so I won´t.

And why was she flying all over Europe just before she was scheduled to return home. This is a strange case. She was no ordinary citizen.

Yet another success story for Hillary´s 2016 run. Protecting our interests and citizens abroad. What a great Sec of State she has been. Lets make her president. What could go wrong?

Could this woman have been a covert spy for one of our secret organizations?

Some years back, Turkey was generally safe foe tourists, but ever since the 80s I wouldn´t go to an Islamic country...esp. alone. I won´t go to Mexico or most of South and Central American anymore either.

I think there´s more to her trip than we´ve been told. I too would not venture into primarily muslim countries on my own. Would feel more comfortable going to Central and South American countries on my own than Chicago.

It is not safe for white women or infidels in any Islamic country on the planet. The only area more dangerous are the killing fields of inner-city Chicago.

The article said she and a friend were going on this trip. She didn´t plan on going alone. The friend canceled, so she went alone. She most likely had a non-refundable ticket, and thought she would be safe. That´s my guess as to what happened. It´s tough to count on someone going on a trip with you. You commit, and they back out leaving you hanging. It happens all the time.

Gen. John Allen has been appointed special U.S. envoy on security issues in negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. He will not mediate between the parties; his work will almost exclusively involve contacts with Israel. Allen will deal with the U.S. position on Israeli security needs and the security arrangements that would accompany the establishment of a future Palestinian state. Senior U.S. and Israeli officials note that while U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel made the appointment it was coordinated with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, who is leading the effort to restart Israeli-Palestinian negotiations.

On Wednesday, Drummer Lee Rigby of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, a man who had served Queen and country honorably in the hell of Helmand Province in Afghanistan, emerged from his barracks on Wellington Street, named after the Duke thereof, in southeast London. Minutes later, he was hacked to death in broad daylight and in full view of onlookers by two men with machetes who crowed "Allahu Akbar!" as they dumped his carcass in the middle of the street like so much roadkill. As grotesque as this act of savagery was, the aftermath was even more unsettling

Washington rumor has it that Obama wants to be U.N. Secretary General. There are several reasons that make that likely, and if it´s true, it throws new light on a lot of Obama´s oddities -- including his Royalty Bows, his Apology Tours, his Muslim Sellout, and the Benghazi Cover-Up. But first -- why would Obama be planning to become the chief of the U.N. before he has even finished his second term?

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

MARK LEVIN: So why didn´t Chairman Issa hold an investigative hearing a year ago? Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. They fight us in the primaries, they fight us at the grassroots.

Fox News chief Roger Ailes has sent a memo to his subordinates at the leading cable news network. He sent this memo to his staff today in connection with the federal investigation into an alleged leak to Fox News reporter James Rosen, a story that the Washington Post’s Ann E. Marimow broke earlier this week. The memo’s a masterpiece, too. For all those who wonder what it is about Ailes that endears his people to him — and that makes him such a good interviewee for any media reporter lucky enough to get an audience

WASHINGTON —In a dramatic departure from existing White House procedures, President Obama requested today that his staff start cc’ing him on stuff. “Look, I know a lot of you think I’m really busy and you don’t want to bother me,” the President reportedly told his staff in an Oval Office meeting. “But cc me anyway.
