| Some 35,000 motorcyclists roared through the streets of Guatemala City Saturday for an annual pilgrimage to the Cristo Negro -- the shrine of the Black Christ -- one of this country´s most venerated icons. (Snip) Once referred to as the "spiritual center of Central America" by Pope John Paul II, the Basilica of Esquipulas attracts thousands of pilgrims each year to to pay homage to the Black Christ statue, which was carved in 1595. It is seen as so much a part of Guatemala´s heritage that a postage stamp has been minted to commemorate the pilgrimage.

35,00 people gathering in one place to view a symbol that causes them all to turn their thoughts and attention to God. Why is that not a good thing?
Meanwhile, in America, the entire country will be treated to a Superbowl halftime show that, if the disgusting satan/isis worship ritual from last year is any indicator, will have Beyonce promoting her husband´s Osiris worhip. Watch for a fixation on eyes, pentagrams, pyramids, and other occult symbolism. If a goat´s head appears again I´m turning it off.

It´s not a good thing because it´s idolatry. Idolatry is condemned in the bible. Bowing down to anything made by the hands of men as opposed to the Living God is sin before a Holy God. Hopefully you already know this because you have read the bible where God is very, very, very clear about how He views idolatry.

It´s not an "idol." It´s a representation. No one is praying to a statue. They are gathering to venerate Christ together. The statue is a representation of the living Christ. Idols are graven images venerated as being occupied by the "god" or spirit being worshiped.
You Puritans wrecked an awful lot of great art when you smashed England´s patrimony. So, try to contain your anti-Catholic bigotry. We´ll forgive you regardless.

No, its an idol. And Christ was not black.....man making an image of Christ from his own imagination...a god of his own making based on himself. It isn´t an image of God. And it won´t turn their mind to God or the Jesus of the bible...it points them to ´another Christ´. And I never have smashed any art just to let you know. I love art....just make an effort to avoid idolatry as we all should.

The House voted to repeal ObamaCare on Thursday for the third time since Republicans took over the chamber in 2011. One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”
