| A missing New York City woman has been found stabbed to death in Istanbul. Sarai Sierra, a 33-year-old mother of two, went missing while vacationing alone in Istanbul. She was last heard from on Jan. 21, the day she was due back home. The Anadolu Agency says residents discovered the body of a woman near some ancient city walls in a low-income district and that police later identified it as Sierra´s. In its report, the private NTV news channel said Sierra was stabbed to death. It said police identified her through her driver license. I will never understand why people travel to that part of the world knowing how terribly dangerous it is now. I wonder too why the Christian pastor Saeed Abedini would ever go to Iran. I know what he wants to do, but now his two young children don´t have a father and may never have again.

It a shame it ended this way - she leaves behind a husband and children. But why would a young woman go running around Turkey by herself? There´s more to the story that we may never know about.

At least the family knows now that she is not returning to them. A terrible ending to a story that has not yet been revealed.
Turkish authorities had a man in custody and they may have ´helped´ him reveal the whereabouts of the woman.
Very sad. Americans are far too trusting.

There may be more here than we Realize. On 1/7/13, Sarai Sierra flew to Istanbul. On 1/15/13, she flies from Istanbul to Amsterdam. The next day, 1/16, she flies from Amsterdam to Munich. On 1/19, she flies back to Istanbul from Munich. On 1/20, she was last seen by the owner of the Istanbul hostel where she was staying. On 1/21, she fails to board the flight for her return trip to NYC.
Odd travel activity for a woman "vacationing alone in Istanbul". .

If you´ve traveled in that region, or talked to any who have, you hear the
horror stories about violence in Turkey.
Getting stabbed or slashed is a typical way for unlucky tourists to die.
Maybe they´ll ban knives there... ?
Maybe not.
Hard to imagine anyone, let alone an American female, would travel alone there.
And a tragedy for her family and friends.

We do not have enough information to form an opinion on this sad story.
On the face of it it appears that this woman went off looking for some kind of adventure, using her camera and photography as an excuse. It may have something to do with her online contacts with the man who is now a person of interest.
We´ll see.

#4 been following too...this woman was either a covert agent ...undercover for this country or another ...on some kind of mission....
crazy doesn´t explain her travel schedule...the fact husband turned over her computer so authorities found her communications with the suspected murderer gives pause ...

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says it wants as many as 20 percent of its workers to "telework," use an "alternative work schedule," or do both, in order to "reduce green house gas emissions," decrease "employee stress," and give these government workers more time for "planning and preparing healthy meals." So says one of the HHS "performance measures" detailed in an appendix to the department´s latest strategic plan. HHS´s performance measure "4.D.05" says: "Increase the percent employees on telework or on Alternative Work Schedule." Telework means working from home via phone and computer.

Bloodletting, in the form of firings, dismissals, resignation, and expulsions, is a tribal rite in political Washington. It is most often used by the powerful on anyone less powerful as a symbolic sacrifice. Steven Miller, the now former acting commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, is the latest victim of ritual sacrifice. This week the Obama White House demanded his resignation to demonstrate the president’s “anger” at news that the IRS targeted conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status for added review and slow approval. So allow us to do the work for him: There is no comparison.
