Lt. Gov. Rick Sheehy
issues resignation

Lincoln—Lt. Gov. Rick Sheehy resigned his post abruptly Saturday after questions were raised by The World-Herald about improper cell phone calls to four women, other than his wife, during the past four years. An investigation by The World-Herald discovered that Sheehy made thousands of late-night telephone calls to the women on his state-issued cell phone, many of them long conversations held in the wee hours of the night. Gov. Dave Heineman announced the resignation at a 10 a.m. press conference. "I´ve got a knot in my stomach. I´m deeply disappointed. He´s done a lot of good things

I am really confused. He resigned, so he must be a republican; no mention of party affiliation, so he must be a democrat. Which is it?

Yes, Sheehy is a Republican. His wife filed for divorce last summer, so she probably knew what was going on.

If he absolutely had to do this, he could have bought a cell phone from Walmart with the pay as you go cards. But no, he had to use his state-issued phone.

When you belong to the party that advocates for the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman, you really can´t expect to have affairs on the side and escape unscathed if you get caught with your pants, um, down.

Obviously a Republican.

If he were a Democrat, he´d be the Nebraska RATS leading candidate for Senate. Or he could get a show on MSNBC.

Especially if he liked the really young girls. Ol´ Bob over in Joisy woulda let him borrow his appointment book, I´m sure.

Perhaps the marriage had been deteriorating all along those four years and the phone calls were just a diversion done by an unhappy man. No evidence the calls were the basis of the divorce. But yeah, stupid to use the state phone. Bad timing too, as media needs a new trail to follow to avert eyes from Menendez.

Does Nebraska also issue I-phones and I-pads? These greasy little items have history up the ying-yang. Could any of the four women also have said, ´´I´m deeply disappointed. He´s done a lot of good things?´´

If I were a suspicious person, I´d think Obama´s miscreant re-election organization was digging dirt on hi potential GOPers, blackmailing & trying to flush them before 2016.

If his marriage was over, I don´t see why there is so much uproar. The left uses this stuff to call us hypocrites, but I throw it back at the left telling them that nobody expects all members of our party to be perfect. We advocate living good moral lives, but the only people expecting perfect adherence to all our principles are the lefties. They want us to live up to perfection, which is impossible if one is a flawed human being. In general, we do have more integrity and live by most of our party principles. But we are still human. If we fail, we usually admit it and try to make it right--whether that is to resign, make public apologies or restitution or whatever. But Dems act like nothing happened and even celebrate qnd reward their failings. And they never admit anything no matter how obvious.

Wikipedia states he is a Republican and the longest serving Lt Governor so far in the State.

It is surprising that his party was not mentioned. Now let´s see the hypocrite media compare a man who resigns immediately vs Menendez who hasn´t.

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: I´ve gotta tell, another little thing about Nelson Mandela. Do you realize in a couple of ways, maybe even more than a couple, Nelson Mandela has more in common or had more in common with Clarence Thomas than he does with Barack Obama? For example, Nelson Mandela (even prior to becoming president, but certainly after he became president of South Africa) insisted on compliance with his country´s constitution. He insisted on it. Obama looks at the US Constitution as an obstacle and makes end runs around it every day, practically. In that sense... These are the kind of

RUSH: Let me give you what is, I think, one of the most amazing things I ever heard Nelson Mandela say. We had fun with Mandela when he was in New York, when he came to New York and went to Yankees Stadium. But I´ll tell you, there are very few people that could have undergone what he went through and maintained any sense of dignity or optimism.(Snip) "Resentment is like drinking poison and then hoping it will kill your enemies." Is that not great? And it´s great because it´s exactly right. Resentment doesn´t do anybody any good.

The U.S. federal health insurance website HealthCare.gov, which has had technology problems since its October 1 launch, is now experiencing errors in transmitting applications about 10 percent of the time, a government spokeswoman said on Friday. The online insurance marketplace relays information about new customers in ´834´ transaction forms to the private insurance companies that provide the health plans. HealthCare.gov serves people in 36 states, while 14 states are running their own websites. "We believe nine of 10 transactions are being successfully transmitted," the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, or CMS, spokeswoman Julie Bataille said at a news briefing.

Washington — Thad Cochran, a Mississippi Republican who was first elected to the Senate in 1978, set up a generational and ideological clash in the state’s Republican primary when he announced Friday that he would seek a seventh term in 2014. While Mr. Cochran, who turns 76 on Saturday, has the support of many leading Republicans in the state, he is already facing opposition from Chris McDaniel, 41, a state senator aligned with the Tea Party who announced his candidacy in October and has won the support of some conservative groups. "Lying to Congress is a federal offense, and Clapper ought to be fired and prosecuted for it," the Wisconsin Republican said in an interview with The Hill. He said the Justice Department should prosecute Clapper for giving false testimony during a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing in March. During that hearing, Sen. When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

The government claims they haven’t paid grazing fees for 20 years. The result was a government assault on the ranch- including snipers with assault rifles, SUV’s, helicopters, airplanes and over 200 heavily armed troops. No

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'
