| Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) fended off questions about Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) at a press conference about immigration reform. (Snip) Reid defended the Menendez as a “friend” and “outstanding senator” but declined to discuss any details he may have had with the New Jersey lawmaker about media reports of allegations that he had sex with prostitutes in the Dominican Republic. “First of all, Bob Menendez is my friend. He’s an outstanding senator. Any questions in this regard, direct to him. I don’t know anything about it,” Reid said. The purpose of the press event

~~The focus by the media on Menendez comes at an inconvenient time for Democrats seeking to push a comprehensive immigration reform package. Menendez is a member of the group of senators who on Monday unveiled a set of bipartisan principles for immigration reform.~~
Imagine that? It comes at an inconvenient time? Not to worry, the press will aid and abet.

FTA: “First of all, Bob Menendez is my friend. He’s an outstanding senator. Any questions in this regard, direct to him. I don’t know anything about it,”
thats weird - not knowing anything about a situation hasn´t stopped harry from commenting in the past (eg mitt romney not paying taxes for 10 years)

Perhaps the Reid and other Dems have an ulterior motive for immigration reform.
Import the prostitutes and thus save time and money - no need to fly to the DR.

At some point in time voters have got to take responsibility for the corrupt individuals that they vote and keep voting back into office. There is no excuse to keep people like Harry Reid and Sen. Mendendez in office when they constantly show how corrupts to the core they really are. Nevada made a huge mistake reelecting Harry Reid and I´m sure most people know it. Reid has done nothing to help Nevada Nevada and the state is in the tank for all practical purposes. Mendendez is a pervert and everybody knows it and yet the Democrats continue to circle the wagons around him. This is shameful and inexcusable but at the end of the day the voters have got to take responsibility for who they elected.

Harry´s only jealous of Bob. Bob doesn´t find it necessary to blow up his date.

From solitciting underage prostitutes in the Dominican Republic to Chairman of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, the rise of Senator Bob Menendez.
Or as the less than honorable Dem senator from NJ would surely say, "They all look like they reached voting age to me."
Interesting that the senior House Dem from NY, Charlie Rangel, also had a tax evasion scandal over a house in the DR.

Being such an outstanding Mendendez friend, does that mean Reid enjoys Mendendez´ proclivities? Does Reid get a discount?

April 14, 2008 -- politically speaking, that was eons ago. New York Magazine ran an article by Kurt Andersen about Bill Clinton titled "Falling Out of Love with Bill." It began by focusing on one of the former president's most visible attributes: he's a consummate liar: Bill Clinton is our great living exemplar of Sam Goldwyn's great epigram: If you can fake sincerity, you've got it made. The joke, of course, is that sincerity is supposed to be more or less synonymous with honesty-truthfulness with a buttery frosting of earnestness. And although the honesty we want our presidents

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
