| Officials in Pennsylvania’s state capital are dealing with an abysmal issue they can’t afford to fix: 41 massive sinkholes throughout the city as wide as 50 feet and as deep as a typical grave. The mix of loose sandy soil and century-old leaking water pipes under Harrisburg´s streets have made the area susceptible to such holes, city officials say. But the city is too broke to replace many of the aging pipes and repave its roads as it deals with ongoing budget woes and the looming threat of bankruptcy, according to media reports. Cloward-Piven-Alynski all emphasized the ´need´ to over-burden the capacity of the government to meet the ever expanding demands of the electorate and in so doing collapse the existing system and replace it with an entirely state owned and run system.

It is a city´s job to keep the road fixed. It is not the job of the city to feed, clothe and house welfare recipients. When these liberal pest holes figure out the function of government, then they will suddenly find they have the money to fix the holes in the road.

I read this and think how hilarious it is that Governor Perry is making news for trying to figure out how to return tax dollars to Texans. I think Perry was very shrewd to publicize this in the way he did... its a serious poke in the eye of all the blue states.

On closer inspection, it was found that those are not sink holes, only footprints left by Gov. Christi when he visited the state. He was attempting to help his pal, M. T. Suit, in making some shovel ready jobs.

There was technology in the 1990s to send small cameras down water pipes, find the leaks, then insert a "sleeve" inside the pipe that leaked, solving the problem.
Lots cheaper than repaving streets.

Barack Obama announced an end to America’s war on terror last week. In future, he declared, he would restrict the unmanned drone attacks that had been his own signature anti-terrorist initiative, and he would really, really make an effort to shut down the prison camp at Guantánamo Bay--as he had promised to do way back when he was running for president the first time. There has been a sixth night of rioting in Sweden´s capital, Stockholm, despite police reinforcements being deployed. Cars were set alight in poor suburbs inhabited largely by immigrants, although the unrest was reportedly not as serious as on previous nights. The rioting also spread outside the capital for the first time on Friday, with youths torching vehicles and buildings in two towns. The leader of the Lebanese Shia militant Hezbollah movement, Hassan Nasrallah, has promised his supporters victory in Syria, where his fighters are backing President Bashar al-Assad. Mr Nasrallah said Hezbollah would stay in the conflict till the end. Syrian rebels in the besieged town of Qusair say they are under heavy bombardment from Hezbollah combatants. The town is close to the Lebanese border, a conduit for both the government and rebels to get weapons. The Metropolitan Police has defended the way it responded to reports of the killing in Woolwich, south London, after questions were raised about how long it took officers to reach the scene. The force said police were there within nine minutes of the first emergency call and firearms officers were at the scene five minutes after that. Abuse Of Power: Any scandal investigation that expects a "Eureka!" moment, a White House e-mail, or Oval Office smoking gun will be misguided. In fact, the dots are already connected directly to the president. Barack Obama is not foolish enough to have a tape recording system hidden in his desk. And his administration staff are not careless enough to send one another incriminating e-mails. If the president was behind the IRS unlawfully harassing conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, we can be sure the communications were all sotto voce and in persona, like any good Chicago political operator.
