Scope of Sen. Menendez probe widens
Washington Times, by Cheryl K. Chumley

The investigation into New Jersey Sen. Robert Menendez and his ties to political donor Salomon Melgen ratcheted Friday, as media reports dissected financial transactions between the two that could be seen as crossing congressional ethics lines. Roll Call cites a New York Times report for raising details of a 10-year financial relationship between the congressman and the Florida eye doctor that raises brows: Mr. Melgen reportedly bought a controlling stake in a port security company in the Caribbean two years ago. During that time frame, Roll Call cites

Tip of the iceberg. If the Diane Sawyers weren´t covering up for all of the crazed, greedy bums in Congress, this ridiculous crime story would be just one of thousands.
It´s a given that, better or worse, every Congressman is crooked just like Menendez. They´re all in it together, that´s why they all act so stupidly quiet, why not one complains about his brother rat. They do not
argue, pontificate, amongst themselves any longer because they are all too scared to tell the truth about their fellow thieves.
The corruption is beyond imagination. Just the Obama´s own White House budget alone is a hint of their delusional life: one billion and a half for this thieving family.
And look at Fox News recent report on our tax money wasted right in front of our eyes.
The saving grace is the new media that is breaking these crime stories one by one.,,,
and ahowing how despicable is Diane Sawyer.

Let´s give Senator Bobby a break here. After all, he was just doing what he had previously promised the good citizens of The Garden State. "My first priority is growing the economy in the long term, and stimulating it in the short term."

I don´t think he´ll be able to get away with the tried and true heartfelt apology with family at the side news conference.

Sorry, Roberto, your toast.

How do many politicians come into office with very little money and retire(if they don´t die in office) with millions? It isn´t from their paycheck.

Menendez will have the last laugh on this one.

I found out that he has signed receipts from all the underage girls with whom he had sex. So when he´s accused of not paying the little girls - - he´ll just whip out all those receipts - - and boy-oh-boy will his accusers be embarrassed!

You got to get up pretty early if you want to stay ahead of a sharp guy like Sen. Menendez!

I don´t know, is an eye doctor owning a senator worse than, say, corporations owning the entire house, senate AND presidency, totally?

I believe any influence of the eye doctor would be overridden by the big boys.

As for Menendez, he is toast. He´s one of the rare dems that actually will go to jail for his heinous crimes, hopefully, along with several others. That´s my prediction.

Ever notice how every DimWit cannot wait to "expand his probe" or "extend his probe"?
Here Sen. Bobby "widens his probe."

BillyBoob Klintoon lowered the bar for them all as he enjoyed exposing himself in the
Lewinsky affair.

Now Chrissie Matthews gets a thrill going up his leg with each new DimWit scandal.

Menendez will be added to the DimWit Mount Rushmore Brigade.
To the DimWitz, "Mount, Rush-More" is how to avoid getting caught on the babysitter.
Or, in Bobby´s case, on the babies.

Nothing will happen. He´s the right race, party and from NJ. There will be a show hearing, a fine paid, he may have to step down from his chairmanship but that is IT. To hope for more or waste time on this is like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Remember that Rep. Rangel got caught in more stuff, and he just got reelected. Remember that Jon Corzine defrauded investors of millions and crashed a company through his decisions, and he´s off scot free.

Amazing how quiet Krispy Kreme Kristie is on this stuff. Must be those invites to soirees with The Boss in Rumson.

Social Security stops trying

The Social Security Administration announced Monday that it will immediately cease efforts to collect on taxpayers’ debts to the government that are more than 10 years old. The action comes after The Washington Post reported that the government was seizing state and federal tax refunds that were on their way to about 400,000 Americans who had relatives who owed money to Social Security. In many cases, the people whose refunds were intercepted had never heard of any debt, and the debts dated as far back as the middle of the past century. “I have directed an immediate halt to further

The Dallas Morning News´ Senior Political Writer Wayne Slater (DMN) reported that Davis supported legislation governing a toll road project. Democrats have had a recurring problem in special elections this year: Their voters aren’t turning out. If a weak economy and continued Obamacare problems persist, the November elections could be a disaster for Democrats. Last week, Democrats lost two special elections they weren’t planning to. Arlington, Va., is a classic wealthy ObamaTown, filled with government workers and limousine liberals. Mitt Romney won only 29 percent of the vote in 2012. But last Tuesday, Democrats lost their first election for the five-member Arlington County Board in 15 years when John Vihstadt, a Republican running as an independent, won a vacancy on

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said little as federal agents seized and then released cattle last week from the Bundy ranch, but there is little doubt that the highly charged episode was threatening to become a political headache for the Nevada Democrat. The Bureau of Land Management is headed by former longtime Reid aide Neil Kornze, who was confirmed by the Senate as BLM director on Tuesday, just as federal authorities descended on the cattle ranch outside Mesquite, Nev. Mr. Kornze issued a statement Saturday saying that the bureau would return the cattle and withdraw its agents from the ranch

On the defensive about their prospects in the midterm elections this fall, congressional Democrats have spent all of April savaging the Republican budget proposal, decrying the Koch brothers and championing a series of bills meant to ingratiate themselves to struggling middle-class voters. In promoting legislation that would extend unemployment benefits, increase the minimum wage and promote equal pay for women, the Democrats have declared themselves the party that will ensure a “fair shot” for all. Republicans, they insist, are the party of special interests. It has been a classic Washington messaging campaign for these partisan

On a trip to Moscow early in her tenure as secretary of state, Hillary Rodham Clinton played the role of international saleswoman, pressing Russian government officials to sign a multibillion-dollar deal to buy dozens of aircraft from Boeing. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander.
