| The fly in the ointment of January´s jobs report was the apparent shift to part-time work ahead of a key ObamaCare deadline. Although retail payrolls grew by 32,600, total hours worked in the industry dipped, Labor Department data out Friday showed. The explanation? Rank-and-file retail workers logged the shortest workweek since early 2010: just 30.1 hours, on average, vs. 30.4 in December. Remarkably, aggregate hours worked in the retail sector fell below their January 2012 level, even though industry payrolls are up 200,000 over that period.

I work in retail and everyone is complaining about their post-holiday hours. Our payroll is determined by sales. I am fortunate in that I am guaranteed 20 hours a week. I feel bad for the others, but they all voted for King Barry so... better luck next time!

You no-information voters are getting what you voted for.
Also, those 200,000 parttime jobs get added to the Labor Dept´s ´new jobs added´ number, thus making the unemployment number appear rosier.

RUSH: According to latest CNN poll, Obama´s job approval is down from 53% in May to 45% now. Approval of his handling of the economy is down 2% to 42%. On foreign affairs Obama´s down five points to 44. On illegal immigration, Obama´s disapproval is up to 56. And only 49% of respondents say Obama is honest or trustworthy. You know, this polling data, this is huge, folks. We haven´t seen this before. We have not seen this kind of intense evidence of Obama losing approval, losing popularity, and losing support.

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.
