| According to a Marine Corps survey of 53,000 Marines, 17 percent of male Marine respondents said they would likely leave the Corps if women move into combat positions. The results of the poll were released to The Associated Press this morning. According to the Associated Press, male Marines listed fears of being falsely accused of sexual harassment, fraternization, other Marines getting preferential treatment, and having to deal with pregnancy or personal issues that could affect the unit before they are sent to the battlefield. Any time, any circumstance where things get dicey for the ladies, they will always go where ladies always go; accusations of rape, harassment, fraternization, jumping chain of command to resort to her sweetie with the oak leaf (happened to me), and when they get a few stripes...look out, you will always lose.

You can bet that the Obama and his crew do not care what those marines say or do, as with them gone, it will be easier for the Obama crew to whittle the USMC down to size.

I think a few more women than we think may want those combat positions. Perhaps that 31% stat is baloney but I think the liberal brainwashing of women is pretty far down the road. I say good for the men! Quit rather than be subjected to the stuff #2 mentions...

Allowing women in combat positions is not as bad as it sounds because they will not be allowed in front line infantry positions.

Pelosi will demand day care at the front line. Feinstein will want more feeling and accommodation for the special needs of women. Doesn´t society have to always attend to those special needs? Men on the other hand -- no one cares about them.

Holding down what is administratively defined as a combat billet is completely different from actually engaging in sustained ground combat with a determined enemy, a la Iwo Jima, Pork Chop Hill, Hamburger Hill, or al Fallujah.
Remember Obama intends to stop the current war in Afghanistan on a day certain next year, and after that, if the liberals have their way, it will not be long before the USA will no longer have the military expeditionary capabilities to again fight on the ground in large scale foreign wars. Hagel will be expected to be Obama´s yes man on that front in the Pentagon.
So what the liberals are actually doing is giving women who say they wish to serve in a combat billet a way to punch their ticket to go on to the higher ranks of the US military.
In a few years, if the liberals remain in power, we will probably see women commanding the 1st Marine division and the 82nd Airborne division. Don´t worry, be happy, it´s just part of the liberals transforming America, and showing that elections do have consequences!

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says it wants as many as 20 percent of its workers to "telework," use an "alternative work schedule," or do both, in order to "reduce green house gas emissions," decrease "employee stress," and give these government workers more time for "planning and preparing healthy meals." So says one of the HHS "performance measures" detailed in an appendix to the department´s latest strategic plan. HHS´s performance measure "4.D.05" says: "Increase the percent employees on telework or on Alternative Work Schedule." Telework means working from home via phone and computer.

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. He said it isn´t difficult to figure out who´s doing what at the agency.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men.
