ObamaCare´s Broken Promises

As the federal government moves forward to implement President Obama´s Affordable Care Act, the Department of Health and Human Services is slated to spend millions of dollars promoting the unpopular legislation. In the face of this publicity blitz, it is worth remembering that the law was originally sold largely on four grounds—all of which have become increasingly implausible. • Lower health-care costs. One key talking point for ObamaCare was that it would reduce the cost of insurance, especially for non-group insurance. The president, citing the work of several health-policy experts, claimed that improved care coordination, investments in information technology,

The "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2011" is surely one of the most misnamed pieces of legislation ever to become law. The only part of that title that is anywhere near reality is the date "2011". And even that is suspect, as various versions of this monstrosity have been produced since probably the time of the Truman Administration. Written in more or less its present form, it has been lying in a desk drawer until the opportune time to pull it out came along.

No other part of that title even applies.

The promises were only promises to people foolish enough to believe anything this compulsive liar has to say. We knew it would be a debacle and that´s why he pushed it off until after he got re elected.

If the cheapest family policy is 20 grand,i can see millions bailing out, paying the fine and taking chances on their health.

Think about it,20 grand can pay for a hell of a lot of office visits with some surgical procedures thrown in.

How many minority families will fork over 20 grand and they´re 29% of the population.

There´s a vague clause in obamacare that says you don´t have to pay if you´ve been some sort of victim of historical oppression.

Many conservatives and posters here seem to be drawing grim satisfaction at the problems and fiasco caused by 0bamacare. A sort of Schadenfreude if you will.
Unfortunately this might be part of the Liberals´ long standing plan. The collapse of the health care system due to chaos in the supporting insurance markets is exactly what they hope to use to bring on the real 0bamacare.
A single payer system driving a centrally run national health care. Zippy promised that to the holdouts during the ACA 2011 sausage making, saying it was just a step on the way. Extricating the country skillfully from this will be tricky. If the Republicans had a fraction of the political skills it will require we would have a Republican President and Senate today.

The fundamental problem is the intervention of government into matters that are best left to the private marketplace. Government always intervenes with the best intentions, but the law of unintended consequences always joins the party. Every solution begets another problem ad nauseum, infinitum. Those who posit that healthcare is a right fail to appreciate that vigor is not a universal baseline. Like it or not, some people can commit every herescy with regards to their health (smoke, drink, pursue reckless pleasures of the flesh) and somehow live to a ripe old age and die peacefully in their bed. And others, can´t seem to make it to age 18 before they are engaged in a battle for their very existance against a disease that show no discretion in its selection of victims nor mercy to those so afflicted.

Government is the establishment of process for the administration of process. No bureaucrat will ever willingly cut his budget, streamline his processes, or reduce his staff. That admonition applies to Congress as well. The only way that I see out of this is the 28th Amendment that is floating through social media.

Until Congress is held accountable to its own actions, and until it is forced to provide comparable benefit to the citizens that it awards itself, our society and culture will continue its decent on a double helix of despair and depredation.

Right #3. University of Georgia has UGA, the bulldog, Obama has UCA; slightly different spelling but their similarity is they are both dogs however UGA is friendly.

Obama´s tendency to only make C´s or D´s at best in college, as evidenced/supported by having his records sealed, is coming home to roost as his little healthcare project flies to pieces. It couldn´t happen to a nicer guy. /s off.

ObamaCare was never intended to lower healthcare, it was never intended to provide more medical coverage and it was never intended to reduce the deficit.

ObamaCare sets the table for increasing costs across the board and blowing up the system. Democrats will then ride in to save the day with a plan to finally nationalize healthcare.

Obama said it when they were passing the bill. He said that this was one last chance for the insurance companies to do the right thing.

ObamaCare is a set up. It always was. And the sooner that the Republicans get out in front of this, the better our chances are of getting it repealed. Because the democrats will in short order start blaming the insurance companies, health care providers, republicans and George Bush for the approaching disaster.

Politicians still have the #1 goal to protect #1: themselves. If enough people get mad enough, scream loud enough, we can force our supposed representatives to fix the mess they created. Republicans, unfortunately, have gone silent on the issue when the atrocities are just coming to light. It´s time for the Republicans to start offering alternatives and give the people some solutions to gravitate toward and demand that their congresspersons support.

All need to remember exactly how this debacle was originated. obama´s prison buddy drafted it while serving time, the democrats met behind closed doors excluding any republicans from involvement and was crammed down the throats of all during a period of time the democrats owned the House, the Senate and the W.H.
The T.E.A. (Taxed Enough Already) Movement was derived from the actions of obama, polosi and reid. I have not heard of any in Congress who read the bill or attempted to read it and with staffers of these idiots responsible for the contents it was voted into law.
"THROW THEM ALL OUT" - Peter Schweizer´s book is the theme to follow. Let´s get more with backbone into Congress who have some common sense and won´t waffle back and forth on what their beliefs might be.

Good call, #15. Let´s not forget that this one man, Chief Justice John Roberts, rewrote the legislation and turned it into a "tax" all on his own so he could find it constitutional.

He is either a traitor to America or he is dumb. Either way, he does not belong in the judiciary and should be impeached.

Where are you, Pubbies? Hiding under your paychecks?

And how about let´s hear from George W. Hey, George, how about an apology for putting this guy on the court? Are all you guys just above admitting mistakes?

If you think the country is divided now, just wait. America will be in shambles by 2016 as Obama sails off to his non-extradition country. Half of America will be paying for the other half´s freebies, including healthcare. All of this will have happened in 8 short years. The Obama effect will be felt for many years. There is only one way to reverse course. Turn around, go back to the beginning and start over. If not, the Soviets will have won.

our communist structured IRS enforced medi scam will not work. There will be no flow,
no cooperation, mistakes and disaster every

Like drug prohibition that has created a massive criminal underworld, like the current attempt control ownership and prohibit guns that can only foster a monster black market in arms, and now like the interruption and prohibition of a simple, timeless, classic, moral doctor patient relationsship, creating yet another black market in medical care, all of this will work itself out, ridding ourselves of the Harry Reed, Pulglosis and Diane Sawyers, and come hopefully to a non violent end.

For anyone who followed the gobs of illegal donations - millions and millions- into Zippy´s campaign funds both times...remember how much it there was to buy judges, blackmail certain parties (could easily have been done to Roberts). All that cash pouring in from outside the country with glaringly phony names with Visa gift cards registered to them. Breitbart ran money through several times with foreign addresses and names, including OBL in Abbottobad (sp.). It was ALL accepted.

and Ulsterman´s WHI said all that money bought lots of folks off - senators, judges, etc. They all had something to hide. Hence, we see no fight coming from them and they are as corrupt as the Dems. Wimpy, but just as corrupt.

What kind of ideologue will do what current president and his cabal is doing out of ideological motives?
I was asking this questions back in the USSR what kind of commie ideology compels the leaders leave people hungry, without enough clothes and housing and medicine (remind you, they had control over EVERYTHING, even laundromats and small shoe repair stores!)?
The only answer (Sherlock Holmes comes to the rescue) is they HATE people, all of us, they will do everything possible to make us miserable. This is them who are miserable, but the only way to get above us is to make us more miserable than they are.
And here is my axiom: all people are ba$tards, lefties are much more ba$tards than us, conservatives. That´s why they are winning this battle so far.
We have to forget that we are dealing with normal human ba$tards. No, they are not! They are hyenas and sadists!

There is not nearly enough anger being expressed - either that, or there is some rather lukewarm misunderstanding of how far down the hole we are and that the only solutions left fall more in line with "Benjamin Martin" than anything else. I cannot believe the anger and outrage still not expressed by thinking rational adults I encounter every single day. We are being decimated, and most people on all fronts simpy act as if writing a letter to their local paper editor will do something. Or, calling Congress. They don´t give a crap. Your freedom and accountable government -gone.

Our lives, our children´s lives and futures are toast, let alone our freedoms. Germany went the same way, tepid and in denial. Millions of them starved after their Messiah offed himself and left them to deal with his evil.

WASHINGTON —President Obama used his weekly radio address on Saturday to reassure the American people that he has “played no role whatsoever” in the U.S. government over the past four years. “Right now, many of you are angry at the government, and no one is angrier than I am,” he said. “Quite frankly, I am glad that I have had no involvement in such an organization.” The President’s outrage only increased, he said, when he “recently became aware of a part of that government called the Department of Justice.” “The more I learn about the activities of these individuals,

OVER the last decade, the United States has become a less violent country in every way save one. As Americans commit fewer and fewer crimes against other people’s lives and property, they have become more likely to inflict fatal violence on themselves. In the 1990s, the suicide rate dipped with the crime rate. But since 2000, it has risen, and jumped particularly sharply among the middle-aged. The suicide rate for Americans 35 to 54 increased nearly 30 percent between 1999 and 2010; for men in their 50s, it rose nearly 50 percent. More Americans now die of suicide

SAN DIEGO — In the ocean off Coronado, a Navy team has discovered a relic worthy of display in a military museum: a torpedo of the kind deployed in the late 19th century, considered a technological marvel in its day. But don´t look for the primary discoverers to get a promotion or an invitation to meet the admirals at the Pentagon - although they might get an extra fish for dinner or maybe a pat on the snout. The so-called Howell torpedo was discovered by bottlenose dolphins being trained by the Navy to find undersea objects, including mines,

It must be George W. Bush’s fault. Everything else is. The moonbats’ verdict is in. Barack Obama couldn’t possibly have done all those terrible things the vast right-wing conspiracy is accusing him of. And they’re not scandals, either. Obama’s troubles are merely “controversies” or, to use Dear Leader’s own phrase, a sideshow. Scandals only happen to Republicans, just like Deval Patrick didn’t go on a junket to Ireland. It was a “trade mission.” Democrats never make mistakes either — “mistakes were made,” in the passive voice.

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings.
