Obama to push gun control during
visit Monday to Minneapolis

The Hill [Washington DC], by Jonathan Easley

President Obama will take his public push for stricter gun-control measures to Minneapolis next week. A White House official told The Hill the president will speak with local law enforcement and elected officials on efforts to stem gun crime during a Monday visit to the city. The effort is the latest as the administration looks to keep the president´s gun-control proposals at the forefront of his second-term agenda, even as lawmakers take the lead on negotiating specific legislation. Obama has called for a series of bills that would ban semi-automatic weapons with military features and high-capacity ammunition magazines.

His speeches across this country are merely cover so he can ride on AF-1.

We don´t have a big problem here in mn and guns are everywhere. The problem we do have is the demos are now in control of house/sen and governor- and the gov is a big time liberal weenie. Pray for us and our rights- these libs will probably roll w/odumbo.

Still on the campaign trail? Why bother when he now has Obama Organizing to Change America into a communist state group to spin the propaganda?

These trips (almost daily) must be stopped. No president in history has been in the air ´on the big plane´ more than the loser sitting in the White House. I think all of us would be astounded to know the total cost of these trips during the last four years.

C´mon O´Reilly, Hannity or someone. Get your investigators working to find out what it has cost us so far.

I think we, the tax payers footing the bill, have a right to know :

How many days has he taken the plane up since he took over?

What is the total cost for these flights?

Is Congress appropriating the money for these flights or is he using funds from other agencies, perhaps illegally?

How many days has he been out of the White House making speeches instead of being there performing his ´presidential duties´?

This is only a partial list of what we should know about these flights.

Is Air Force One worn out yet?

It may not be worn out but it will require fumigation when he is gone.

He is being "conservative" with the fuel bill.
Like his new leaning. He could have gone to Hawaii to make a speech. Obviously, in this new media age, only making speeches in person before hundreds counts. What´s the cost for this speech to the taxpayer- $2M ?

Reply 12 - Posted by: nascarfan, 1/31/2013 1:24:36 PM     (No. 9150757)

He just keeps flying to liberal cities and giving is gun control speeches. Try giving one is a Consevative town and see how fast you get tarred and feathered. Now that would be headlines we could at least enjoy. I wouldn´t even mind footing the bill for AF-1.

obama: I know we need gun control. I authorized the sale of thousands of weapons to Mexican drug cartels so that hundreds if not thousands of Mexicans would be killed.

Reporter to other reporters: obam is an expert, that obama is really smart.

obama: This is why I want to take your weapons away so the drug cartels or any of my army can shoot you dead without any opposition.

The man shot dead by an FBI agent in Orlando, Florida early today was "about to sign a statement" admitting to a role, along with Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, in an unsolved triple murder in Massachusetts in 2011, two people with direct knowledge of the case told ABC News. Ibragim Todashev "just went crazy," and pulled a knife during his interview with the FBI, said state and federal law enforcement officials briefed on the latest strange twist in the investigation of the Boston Marathon bombing. One official said an FBI agent was stabbed several times,

WASHINGTON- Senator Elizabeth Warren has found a publisher two months after the Massachusetts Democrat began shopping her book proposal. Henry Holt and Company, one of the nation’s oldest publishers, announced it had obtained the rights to publish the book, which it characterized as telling both “Senator Warren’s improbable rise from a working class family in Oklahoma to the United States Senate,” as well as providing “a rousing call for protecting the middle class.” The book will be published in the spring of 2014 and will be edited by John Sterling, who is editor at large for Macmillan,

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. A large majority of Americans hold a bleak outlook on the state of morality in the United States, as 72% said the nation’s moral values are “getting worse,” and only 20% said that moral values are “getting better,” according to a recent Gallup survey. The poll specifically showed that Americans who attend church weekly, are married, or are Republican, were the most negative about the country’s moral direction. But even Democrats, people who attend church infrequently, and the unmarried had high negative outlooks about the nation’s moral values. In the telephone survey of 1,535 adults

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa on Wednesday displayed a string of emails showing his failed efforts to get an update from the Treasury Department inspector general’s office about its investigation into the IRS practice of targeting conservative groups who sought tax-exempt status. Emails seeking the information date back to September 2012, six weeks before the November election. At that point, the U.S. Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration had promised an update. Based on other evidence provided to the committee, the inspector general was aware of the IRS practice of targeting conservative groups

Piled high amid a trail of destruction, these tragic horses are among more than 100 thought to have been killed in the Oklahoma tornado. As well as human lives that were lost, farms around the suburb of Moore took a direct hit from the giant twister which swept up everything in its path with winds of more than 200mph and the power of up to 600 nuclear bombs. Witnesses who cowered in terror described seeing ´horses and stuff flying around everywhere´ and returning to find ´scorched earth´ and crumpled buildings. They came across distressing scenes of horses

A mother-of-two described tonight how she put her own life on the line by trying to persuade the soldier’s murderers to hand over their weapons. Cub scout leader Ingrid Loyau-Kennett selflessly engaged the terrorists in conversation and kept her nerve as one of them told her: “We want to start a war in London tonight.” Mrs Loyau-Kennett, 48, from Cornwall, was one of the first people on the scene after the two Islamic extremists butchered a soldier in Woolwich, south east London. She was photographed by onlookers confronting one of the attackers who was holding a bloodied knife.

Former Rep. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.

There’s really no reason for the press to suggest that the recent slew of scandals involving the Obama administration — Benghazi, the AP phone-record seizure, the snooping in James Rosen’s e-mail, the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups, and so on — are a confusing jumble. There is a very clear thread running through all of the administration’s actions: The U.S. deputy chief of mission in Libya, Gregory Hicks, says that he was told not to speak to a member of Congress about Benghazi without a State Department lawyer present, that he received a phone call from Hillary Clinton’s
