The White House’s curious silence about
Obama’s claim of skeet shooting

Washington Post, by Glenn Kessler

The New Republic: “Have you ever fired a gun?” President Obama: “Yes, in fact, up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time.” New Republic: ”The whole family?” Obama: “Not the girls, but oftentimes guests of mine go up there. And I have a profound respect for the traditions of hunting that trace back in this country for generations. And I think those who dismiss that out of hand make a big mistake.” — from an interview published Jan. 27, 2013

At least when Mookie produces a fiction about "her" veggie garden, she has some staged photos in hand. The KenyanWonderBoy doesn´t need no stinking fake photos.

He lied. What really galls me is that he and Biden use water pistols playing around kids. Just this week a 6 year old was suspended from school for pointing his finger at another student. One student was suspended for having a paper gun at school. I think Biden ought to have to give up his annual water pistol game since he would look like a hypocrite if he didn´t. Oh, silly me, he IS a hypocrite!

Some little agents of the left will take one for the team, come forward and say they saw mr. zippy skeet shoot at Camp David. Of course, no photographers were present.

I would be more believable if they said he tried out for the Rockettes. Skippy with a gun?? No way, it´s too manly of a sport. He rides a bicycle like a girl. Mooch exhibits more testosterone than Skippy.

"We do skeet shooting" doesn´t sound like the guys who shoot skeet on a regular basis.

It is as awkward as saying "we do basketball shooting" or "we go golf ball hitting".

He needs the teleprompter to get the vernacular correct if he wants me to buy into his awesomeness.

Yeah, we do skeet shootin and we is really good at doin lieing.

"...The White House’s curious silence about
Obama’s claim of skeet shooting..."

A "LIE TOO FAR?" A blatant untruth, so egregious that even the WH Press Weasel, Carney; cannot find a rational way to explain (READ: SPIN IT) the LIE away.

When will the LSM wake up and find they have lost all credibility with the public?

Obama such a slick guy. He left himself an out and said ´´WE go shooting all the time...´´ at Camp David. He didn´t say ´´I go shooting...´´. The man is a real conniving piece of work. Always thinkin´ and never to be trusted.

Reply 9 - Posted by: Bad Dog, 1/31/2013 8:05:35 AM     (No. 9150011)

I think it IS odd that Jay Carney had nothing to say about it. Marsha Blackburn challenges him to shoot skeet with her, and Carney flat out refuses to even take the question.

This lie is so bad, and so obvious, that they can´t even come up with a sufficient lie-over-lie to cover it.

Biden is just over the hill from a school shooting, Obama is a skeet shooter -- lying is a liar´s daily work.

This falls under the same category of Hillary being strafed by gunfire. We need to name this phenomenon something like progressivetotalb/s2lookewl category maybe?

It is such a sorry state when you cannot believe a thing that obama says. It all started with the lying clintons when WE should have throw them to the back of the bus and never encountered then again.

The New Republic has already tried posting a photo of zippy shooting which was quickly proved to be fake and then taken down.

He didn´t just say he partook: he said he shot skeet "all the time". And how does this differ from most of his other claims, e.g. being a constitutional law prof, etc. I´d love to know, also, why he and Michelle each handed back their law licenses right before they were taken----were this George Bush or a Republican....... and yet it isn´t even looked at. And for this we have the PRESS to claim, per usual.

BULL-----You can´t shoot skeet with a spear, Kenya´s official assault weapon!!!!!

Seeing that the pResident ie so vocal on everything he knows nothing about....it´s rather refreshing to see him remain silent on anything.

If you go to the White House, as you enter the main foyer you will see the deadly skeets President Barack "Skeets" Obama has bagged. Their heads are proudly mounted on thhe wall.

Six years ago, when John McCain, the Arizona senator, last worked on an immigration bill, his partner was Ted Kennedy, of Massachusetts. Kennedy, especially in his final decade in the Senate, was known for working closely with ideological opponents to pass major pieces of legislation. On a recent morning, McCain sat in his dimly lit office, across the street from the Senate, and said how much he missed Kennedy. The Massachusetts senator died in August, 2009, at the age of seventy-seven, after a protracted battle with brain cancer. McCain, who is known for his irascible disposition and his sarcastic

Gang of 8 vs. VAWA: Byron York notes some of the shortcomings of the pending Gang of 8 bill’s treatment of illegal immigrants with criminal records: You’re only blackballed when you are convicted of three misdemeanors–an achievement, given the tendency of overworked prosecutors to accept misdemeanor pleas for felony charges. Even three misdemeanors can be waived by Janet Napolitano–or whoever is Secretary of DHS–”in the public interest.” And you have to have been convicted of the misdemeanors on separate days. …

After defending the NSA surveillance programs earlier On Fox News Sunday, former Vice President Dick Cheney went on to criticize the IRS and James Rosen scandals, in particular citing the IRS activity as “one of the worst abuses of power imaginable.” “It clearly was used for political purposes,” Cheney said, adding, “I cannot conceive of a situation in which it didn’t come from higher up.” While Cheney stopped short of implicating the White House in the IRS’ nefarious affairs,

Last Thursday evening, I had the privilege, for the eighth consecutive year, of acting as master of ceremonies for the Annual Dinner of the Center of the American Experiment. This year’s dinner featured Dr. Benjamin Carson, one of the most eminent physicians in the United States, whose speech at the National Prayer Breakfast made him a household name. There was a lot of excitement about Dr. Carson’s appearance, and 1,000 people, a sellout crowd, attended the dinner. I had the opportunity to spend some time with Dr. Carson before the event began.

Among the recent revelations about the NSA was the PRISM program, which tech companies have denied participating in. According to a New York Times report, one of those companies, Yahoo, fought back in 2008 against the government requests on the grounds that it would be unconstitutional — but failed. Thus, the company became part of the program. “The government had sought help in spying on certain foreign users, without a warrant,

A bit of news for members of Congress on their way home for the weekend: America hates you. Nearly eight in 10 Americans told Gallup pollsters this month they disapprove of the way Congress is handing its job, the 45th consecutive month that more than two-thirds of Americans graded Congress poorly. The problem isn´t as much what Congress is doing as what it is not getting done. Fifty-nine percent of the disapproving Americans cited partisan gridlock and ineffectiveness for their thumbs-down. Fewer than 30 percent cited performance on specific issues or ethics. It gets worse.

NEW YORK Until now, much of the debate swirling around Obamacare has focused on the cost of premiums in the state-based health insurance exchanges. But what will enrollees actually get for that monthly charge? States are starting to roll out details about the exchanges, providing a look at just how affordable coverage under the Affordable Care Act will be. Some potential participants may be surprised at the figures: $2,000 deductibles, $45 primary care visit co-pays, and $250 emergency room tabs.

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.

The Obamas never miss an opportunity to mingle with the stars and during a two-day trip in Dublin, who better to have lunch with than iconic Irish rocker and philanthropist Bono? First Lady Michelle along with daughters Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11, started Tuesday with an hour-long visit to picturesque Glendalough in the Wicklow Mountains--but the two girls looked like they would have rather slept in at their luxury hotel. Glendalough is famous for its Medieval monastic settlement founded in the 6th century by St Kevin, the hermit priest. After appearing less than thrilled on Monday while viewing Medieval manuscripts
