Republicans who support granting amnesty to foreign nationals residing in the United States illegally better answer some questions first. I have previously argued that warm and fuzzy feelings toward the GOP will not grow in minority communities simply because some Republicans accept as lawful what was once lawless. The racial interest groups such as the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF) and LULAC have such a stranglehold in these communities that no GOP compromise will break it. Racially polarized voting patterns among blacks and Hispanics are the
Comments: The Democrats manage to play the Republicans like a fiddle. Absolutely nothing should be done until the borders are closed, sanctuary cities are not allowed, ICE is allowed to do their jobs contrary to the 0bama regime stopping them, etc. We don´t need another behemoth law until the laws now on the books are enforced.
There is no logic in rewarding people who have knowingly flaunted our laws. So our elected officials think it is important to represent people who don´t pay taxes, aren´t citizens and are here illegally?
And y´all wonder why many of us don´t trust the Republicans?

Before making comments understand the meaning of the term amnesty. it takes about two minuets to find on any search engine. Then take a little more time to read Rubio´s proposal. he is not proposing amnesty. The liberals are pushing amnesty. Add the part of the Constitution concerning any child born on US soil (hated anchor babies) is a born American Citizen. Adult and their children Immigrants must be Naturalised. Their future children born in America are born citizens. America is a LAND OF IMMIGRANTS from day zero. How many of your immigrating ancestors were also hated and hounded because they didn´t come from the same place their haters did?
If the wimpy Republicans do give the liberal Democrats the political cover necessary to pass a path to citizenship amnesty for just about all illegal aliens in the USA, the Republican share of the Hispanic vote will probably increase from about 28% to about 33% and the liberal Democrats will end up with about 10 million new voters by way of the amnesty. It appears that those numbers look pretty good to Stupid Party politicians like John McCain who are always ready to go along to get along with the liberal Democrats.
And with all due respect, the notion that someone can hop over the fence, drop a baby, and have that child acquire instant citizenship is a rather latter-day deliberate misinterpretation of the Constitutional amendment. It was, I believe, Ann Coulter, who reminded us a year or so ago that this was the fruit of a footnote in an opinion on a separate matter before SCOTUS, that footnote being written by one of the worst loons in the history of the loons on SCOTUS. I want to think it was Douglas. Anyway, this current misunderstanding of the matter, the error that has led to the term "anchor babies" needs to be thrown in the trash where it belongs. Along with the idiot notion that persons on SCOTUS are semi-divine Superior Beings, deserving of bows, incense, and unquestioned obedience. It´s nonsense and injurious to the nation. This is a good case in point.
I may be way out there, and no thinking person will agree with me, but I think the government--at all levels--should try enforcing all laws exactly as written for a period of at least six months.
Then a Congressional committee could decide to keep the laws that work, rescind the ones that don´t, write new ones--such as seal the border--and start thinking, after this "experiment" whether or not we even need "amnesty" because the last one (1986) didn´t seem to have the effect that was predicted.
And by enforcing all laws exactly as written I would include the rules for "sponsors" who bring their relatives in, then immediately dump them on the taxpayers through SSI, "Food Stamps," medicaid and Section 8 Housing Assistance. I can remember when my uncle wanted to marry a German woman and bring her and her son to Bartlesville, OK...he was required to have a land owner guarantee they would never be a burden on the taxpayers.
With all due respect, #6, you´re nuts. Reagan´s amnesty didn´t change Latinos voting patterns. Rubio is no Reagan. Latinos don´t even like Cubans. Furthermore, can you name me a single right-of-center leader of a Latin country? Why do conservatives put their faith in well-coifed exotic metrosexual men, rather than in the law? Grow up.
PJ Media columnist J. Christian Adams appeared on The Kelly File on Fox News on Friday to talk about his recent article detailing how the Department of Homeland Security has recently hired activist immigration attorneys who worked for pro-amnesty, pro-asylum, and open borders groups in the past. Now, sources inside DHS have provided PJ Media with the employment history and pro-amnesty backgrounds of the newly hired lawyers who will be enforcing federal immigration laws. The ideological histories of these new DHS lawyers undermine confidence that the federal government will vigorously enforce federal laws, notwithstanding any congressional “mandates” to do so.
WASHINGTON -- A longtime adviser to the U.S. Director of National Intelligence has resigned after the government learned he has worked since 2010 as a paid consultant for Huawei Technologies Ltd., the Chinese technology company the U.S. has condemned as an espionage threat, The Associated Press has learned. Theodore H. Moran, a respected expert on China´s international investment and professor at Georgetown University, had served since 2007 as adviser to the intelligence director´s advisory panel on foreign investment in the United States. Moran also was an adviser to the National Intelligence Council,
DEVELOPING: – An elderly U.S. tourist and war veteran detained for more than a month for alleged hostile acts against North Korea has been deported from that country. North Korean state media said Saturday 85-year-old Merrill Newman was released because he had apologized for his alleged crimes during the Korean War and because of his age and medical condition. It was not clear if his confession was coerced. He was taken off a plane Oct. 26 by North Korean authorities while preparing to leave the country after a 10-day tour. Vice President Joe Biden is currently in South Korea on
At the "Fast Food Forward" protest on Thursday, Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) demanded that Pres. Obama sign an executive order bypassing Congress and unilaterally raising the federal minimum wage. Rep. Ellison told the crowd that they should join him in demanding that Pres. Obama skip seeking Congressional approval and raise the minimum wage on his own - and that he sent the president a letter on Wednesday presenting his demand: "We in Congress will try to raise the minimum wage. We got opponents on the other side of the aisle who say that there shouldn´t be no minimum wage. So, we
Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan joined WSJ Live host Mary Kissel on Friday where they discussed the ongoing issues associated with the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Noonan said she found the way in which this administration has handled this crisis has been among the “oddest” she’s seen. Noonan added that she would like to see “humility” from President Barack Obama rather than combativeness. Kissel began by asking about the “puzzle” of the president’s response to the crisis surrounding the ACA’s faltering website. “I look at the White House the past two months, I think the president and
Another leftist lets the mask slip. Jonathan Alter believes that violent criminals imprisoned for their crimes are political prisoners. He and Al Sharpton talked to themselves on MSNBC today. Sharpton asked Alter what America might learn from the example of Nelson Mandela. Reasonable answers to this question include but are not limited to: Don’t abuse political power to punish your enemies; don’t hold on to political power forever; choose your wife or husband a bit more carefully; don’t seek to divide when unity serves the nation better. Alter wants America to learn a different lesson. None of the above. Alter
As Congress gets ready to battle on immigration reform next year, it´s important to take a look at who will help enforce and shape any kind of immigration overhaul. Former Department of Justice Assistant Attorney General and radical open borders attorney Tom Perez was safely put into the position of Labor Secretary by President Obama and the Senate earlier this year, knowing the Department of Justice is safely locked down as pro-amnesty. Perez has a long history of advocating not for American workers, but for illegal alien workers and made sure the Department of Justice was stacked with pro-amnesty attorneys
More young men in California rise in pitch at the end of their sentences when talking, new research shows. This process is known as "uptalk" or "valleygirl speak" and has in the past been associated with young females, typically from California or Australia. But now a team says that this way of speaking is becoming more frequent among men.The findings were presented at the Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America in California. "We found use of uptalk in all of our speakers, despite their diverse backgrounds in socioeconomic status, ethnicity, bilingualism and gender," said Amanda Ritchart, a linguist at the University of
DAVID CORN: I saw a president who remains frustrated with the political-media culture that he has to work within, and that he´s looking to rally people, students here, and supporters, and people within the media. CHRIS MATTHEWS: But David Corn, you skeptic. He came to us today. He came amongst us. CORN: He´s trying to rally people behind this vision that he´s been promoting for a couple years. FINEMAN: By the way, he did it the end here, today, Chris, not by defending specifics, but by explaining why he´s in the game to begin with. And I don´t know about you, he´s
The most curious thing of all about the November jobs report released on Friday was the huge drop in the unemployment rate — and the fact that the Labor Department chose not to disclose that the data going into that figure are under investigation for falsification. On Nov. 19, I broke the news in my column that the Census Bureau, which collects data that goes into the jobless rate on behalf of Labor, had caught one of its enumerators fabricating interviews in 2010. The culprit said back then (and to me during an interview) that he was told to do so by
Denver - A baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex ceremony must serve gay couples despite his religious beliefs or face fines, a judge said Friday. The order from administrative law judge Robert N. Spencer said Masterpiece Cakeshop in suburban Denver discriminated against a couple "because of their sexual orientation by refusing to sell them a wedding cake for their same-sex marriage." The order says the cake-maker must "cease and desist from discriminating" against gay couples. Although the judge did not impose fines in this case, the business will face penalties if it continues to turn away gay

How do you get your arms around the catastrophe known as Obamacare? Is it even possible? At this point, I’m not sure it is. The list of individual disasters which threaten to ruin one-sixth of the U.S. economy and what has been, up until now, the best healthcare system in the world is exhaustive, and exhausting. The examples I will identify here barely scratch the surface. First but by no means foremost, we have the supposedly new and improved HealthCare.gov. Except it’s not, even the visible part. Stories still abound of people still failing to get in or to get through the enrollment
The question all week long was this: Who are you going to believe, an illegal alien or the president of the United States of America? Obviously, if it’s a president who once went by an alias, Barry Soetoro, you go with Uncle Omar, 100 percent, no questions asked. And so it was that the White House finally admitted to another, uh, misstatement — despite previous denials, Barack/Barry did sleep on his beloved Uncle Omar’s couch in Cambridge when he first moved here to attend Harvard Law School (speaking of which, we’re still waiting to see the president’s grades and his LSAT scores). But the
