| Amnesty is still the dirty word in the debate over immigration, as it has been for many years, and it could torpedo comprehensive immigration legislation in Congress. Despite initial happy talk, differences are appearing between President Obama and a key bipartisan group of senators over what should be done about illegal immigration. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, a possible Republican presidential candidate in 2016, says Obama is not placing sufficient emphasis on strengthening border security before creating a pathway to citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants. #2 a green card gives you just about every goody a citizen gets - just not voting. My wife was one for decades, so I know. Sessions was talking up the potential costs of SS, Medi this and that. $Trillions.
The only thing that works IMO is hoping they leave after their working life is over. Otherwise, they have to live off savings - or their anchor babies. Hint: cost of living is a lot lower in MX than in LA.
For that reason, and the fact that no one seems to take enforcing the law as an option anymore, my position is we just let the illegals stay illegal and as least we can deport them if they drive drunk etc.

Rubio has decided that of all the critical issues facing real AMERICANS, he would rather indulge in an incredible waste of time and taxpayer money pursuing a fruitless LIBERAL "dream" that would benefit a whole new mass of freeloaders and work to the detriment of the rest of us. He is openly dealing with scum of the earth like Schumer who is detested by any right-minded conservatives. Therefore, he is now on my go to hell list.

Rubio sold us down the river, just like every other career politician, for the sake of his own career. His "principles" include amnesty for 11-20 million illegal occupiers. Those are the principles of Schumer and Durbin, not the United States of America. Look at him take Hannity and Levin for a ride. It´s a disgrace. We are a nation of laws, not of metrosexual do-gooders.

Originally the green card rules did not allow a holder to become a "public charge". That was amended by Willard the Impeached (through executive order - see how this works) to allow green card holders access to all federal benefits except money. Since then, who knows.

There are many different types of elections in the United States, such as federal elections, state elections or local elections. Only U.S. citizens can vote in federal elections. Registering to vote or voting in a federal election is a crime if you are not a U.S. citizen. Non-U.S. citizens, including permanent residents (green card holders), who vote, or register to vote, in a federal election also can be denied naturalization and/or removed (deported) from the United States.

Now do you believe me? For Washington politicians of all stripes, the country doesn´t count, the constituents don´t count, the voters don´t count (expect between September and November of alternate years). The only things that count are the Washington politicians´ wealth, prestige (how much will people pay to hear what he has to say?) and power (the ability to force people to do what you want them to do.). If you think your politician or your party has any interest in you, then you deserve to be ignored by them.

President Obama will announce Thursday that the White House plans to lift the ban on sending detainees from Guantanamo Bay to Yemen, Fox News confirms, a move that could effectively resume efforts to close down the prison. That effort, however, has been stymied because many countries don´t want the detainees or are unwilling or unable to guarantee that once transferred, detainees who may continue to be a threat will not be released. There are currently about 166 prisoners at Guantanamo, and 86 have been approved for transfer as long as security restrictions are met.

Newly uncovered court documents reveal the Justice Department seized records of several Fox News phone lines as part of a leak investigation -- even listing a number that, according to one source, matches the home phone number of a reporter´s parents. The seizure was ordered in addition to a court-approved search warrant for Fox News correspondent James Rosen´s personal emails. In the affidavit seeking that warrant, an FBI agent called Rosen a likely criminal "co-conspirator," citing a wartime law called the Espionage Act. Rosen was not charged, but his movements and conversations were tracked.

WASHINGTON- Senator Elizabeth Warren has found a publisher two months after the Massachusetts Democrat began shopping her book proposal. A large majority of Americans hold a bleak outlook on the state of morality in the United States, as 72% said the nation’s moral values are “getting worse,” and only 20% said that moral values are “getting better,” according to a recent Gallup survey. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa on Wednesday displayed a string of emails showing his failed efforts to get an update from the Treasury Department inspector general’s office about its investigation into the IRS practice of targeting conservative groups who sought tax-exempt status. One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

There’s really no reason for the press to suggest that the recent slew of scandals involving the Obama administration — Benghazi, the AP phone-record seizure, the snooping in James Rosen’s e-mail, the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups, and so on — are a confusing jumble.
