| CLARENCE, N.Y. - In Clarence, tempers flared as gun-owners met with state officials to talk about the New York SAFE Act. (*SNIP*) And some questions had complicated answers. "You´re next question is, are you going to be arrested? I can´t answer that. It would be up to the officer you encounter. They would have to decide," said Mike Green of the Division of Criminal Justice Services. Some people got very heated with their questions, complaining that law-abiding people are getting punished. "Now you´re turning them into criminals. You´re making them angry. And when angry people get together they form militias…

Comments: A law so vague and poorly written that the New York State Police doesn´t fully understand it (but, as per the NYSP´s apparatchiks - that won´t prevent them from making arrests), and law-abiding citizens are kept in constant fear of felony arrest.
These are exactly the sort of "laws" that our Founders sought to ensure would never enslave free people.
These usurpers have sowed the wind without any comprehension of what they are about to reap.

So the official answering the question about the law´s constitutionality is leaving it up to the courts to decide. We´re in trouble.

“There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.” —Ayn Rand
Once again...she´s right.

The guy answering the questions was a smug jerk. They want to pass the laws, and let the courts decide if they are unconstitutional. He claims that is the way it works. WHAT? No, it doesn´t work that way. Indeed, a court may end up judging and throwing out laws, but using his logic, that´s like saying it´s OK to make any law at all, and then wait for the courts to get involved.
People don´t WANT these laws. Using this idiot´s logic, there is nothing in the Constitution that says we can´t be limited to one bullet single action bolt handguns either! So does that mean we want that law?
The guy is actually put off that people are angry about new laws being passed. That´s the way it SHOULD be! Our government was actually set up so that laws ARE hard to pass, with lots of challenges, changes, heated and unheated discussions. And guess what, this is a Republic, and the citizens are SUPPOSED to be involved, not in complete deference to our elected representatives, but in conjunction with them!
The people assembling, making demands and challenges are doing EXACTLY what they are supposed to be doing.

There you have it. It is "up to the officer to decide." What the hell does that mean? It means David Gregory gets a pass and you get arrested. It means Bloomberg´s detail get a pass and you get arrested. It means friend of Libs, athletes, hollyweird stars, gays, minorites, etc. will get a pass, but you´ll get arrested.
Sounds like upstate NY is ready to form a militia and rumble.

You have to stay level-headed. I want to stay within the law. I´ll have to register my guns if it´s necessary, and we´ll go from there," Dewind said. ----------------------------------------Sounds like a bunch of paper tigers to me.

I realize my post here is a couple days old, however, video of this meeting was just posted on YouTube yesterday. "[D]raws anger" is a vast understatement. All I can say is, these Cuomo lackeys are lucky they didn´t end up in tar and feathers before the day was done.
I don´t write this with joyful anticipation, because the consequences are too horrible to imagine, but the second "Shot Heard ´Round The World" come from New York State. You cannot watch this video and come to any other conclusion than that armed citizens are ready to fight.

AMHERST, N.Y. - An Amherst man who had his guns taken away by the state is speaking out after the state admitted it made a mistake by suspending his pistol permit. David Lewis is the man State Police deemed so mentally ill he was unfit to own a gun. They recommended to a state judge that the 34-year-old librarian´s pistol permit be suspended and the judge signed the order. (*SNIP*) Tresmond also claims State Police have lined up a special unit to circumvent federal HIPAA laws to pry into gun owners´ medical records, which State Police deny.

AMHERST, N.Y. - State Police forced an Amherst man to turn in his guns after suspending his pistol permit over anti-anxiety medication. But now they say it was all a misunderstanding. Erie County Clerk Chris Jacobs said, "Today, we all look like fools." "David," a 34-year-old college librarian, recently had his pistol permit taken away. Erie County´s Licensing Officer, Supreme Court Justice William Boller, was following a recommendation from State Police that David´s permit be revoked because he used anti-anxiety medication in the past.

ROCHESTER — Starting April 15, New York will have the smallest gun magazine limit in the country, and all signs indicate no gun makers have plans to accommodate it. Gun manufacturers have never had a reason to make a magazine with fewer than 10 rounds, because no state required it until now. And, as far as local gun dealers and the Democrat and Chronicle have been able to determine, there are no manufacturers planning to make seven-round magazines. This means that in less than two months, gun dealers such as Paul Martin, owner of Pro-Gun Services in Victor…

CHICAGO — A federal appeals court won´t reconsider an earlier ruling that Illinois´ concealed carry ban is unconstitutional. A three-judge panel of the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals struck down Illinois´ ban in December and gave lawmakers until June 8 to legalize the concealed carry of firearms. Attorney General Lisa Madigan asked for all 10 judges to review the decision, saying it conflicted with decisions by other federal appellate courts and goes beyond what the U.S. Supreme Court has held. Illinois is the only state in the nation that still has a ban in place.

A knife-wielding attacker killed at least two Japanese tourists and wounded 11 others on Tuesday in a tourist district on the U.S. Pacific territory of Guam, government officials said. The incident took place in Tumon on Guam´s west coast, said Andy Gibson, an official in Gov. Eddie Calvo´s office. Gibson said three people died and 11 suffered injuries in the ordeal. A spokesperson from Japan´s foreign affairs ministry, meanwhile, said that two Japanese tourists were killed and 12 other Japanese were hospitalized.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. He said it isn´t difficult to figure out who´s doing what at the agency.

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

Washington – Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-MO, issued a video statement Friday in response to reports that the Internal Revenue Service unfairly targeted conservative nonprofit groups. (Snip) “There’s a reason Lady Justice wears a blindfold in America. That is because in America, we don’t apply the law based on who you are, who you know, or what you believe. We apply the law equally.” “We should not only fire the head of the IRS, which has occurred, but we’ve got to go down the line and find every single person who had anything to do with this and make sure

The Internal Revenue Service´s watchdog told top Treasury officials around June 2012 he was investigating allegations the tax agency had targeted conservative groups, for the first time indicating that Obama administration officials were aware of the explosive matter in the midst of the president´s re-election campaign. The disclosure to the Treasury general counsel and the deputy secretary was a cursory one, according to J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration. He said he didn´t reveal conclusions of the probe, which was in its early stages, and his disclosure came as part
