| U.N.-Arab League mediator Lakhdar Brahimi told the U.N. Security Council Tuesday that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad may be able to hold to power for now but warned that Syria is “breaking up before everyone´s eyes.” (Snip) Syrian state TV said the men were killed by members of Jabhat al-Nusra, an al-Qaida-linked group that the Obama administration has labeled as a terrorist organization. It said the men were killed after they demanded members of the group to leave their areas. Another activist group, the Local Coordination Committees, put the number of bodies found at 80.

Bound and shot and throw in a mass grave. Atrocities like this don´t occur in a civilized world. It´s hard to pick a winner here, because no matter what happens in Syria, the suffering will go on in the area.

If Qtini is receiving treatment he´s lucky. Rebels break into the hospitals in Damascus then sell the equipment and drugs they´ve stolen to prospective patients. Food is gone, medicine is gone, hope is gone. Whether this atrocity was committed by one of the various rebel groups or someone loyal to Assad is meaningless. Next month it will happen again. Slaughter´s become a way of life.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
