| Another dog treat manufacturer is recalling their products across the U.S. this week after more than 500 pet deaths and thousands of illnesses were linked to similar treats that were all made in China. [Snip]Among the recalls were from Nestle Purina PetCare Co. which recalled their popular Waggin’ Train and Canyon Creek Ranch brand dog treats. Del Monte Corp. also recalled their Milo’s Kitchen Chicken Jerky, as well as their Chicken Grillers home-style dog treats. Hartz says no illnesses have been reported by pet owners directly connected to their treats.

I trust made in china label to mean: made of the cheapest crap available; made by slave-labor, bound to malfunction or break well before you´d expect, and likely to cause injury, illness or death when used as intended. Good products are not cheap; cheap products are not good. It´s not hard to understand. Before there were container ships coming from china, what did American dogs eat?

I buy the Dingo Chip Mix in Walmart. My dogs love them. I see they are made in China. Darn! I guess I better not buy these any more.

My daughter alerted me to this issue with Chinese chicken treats.
Switched all my dogs to the Blue Line-made in America and no fillers.
All my dogs re doing better-especially my older dog who is on the Senior diet.
Great products-worth the price.

For pet products, country of origin is far more important than price. I don´t buy Chinese apple juice --- which it often is; Check the label --- for myself, nor do I buy Chinese dog treats for my furry best buddies.

Found americansworking.com and it has a section on pet food and other products made in the USA (Canada is good, perhaps better in some instances). This is not to say that I would buy some of the products listed, but it´s a good start if you´re just beginning the search for healthy pet food.

Problem is my dogs won´t eat the so called chicken treats made in the US. They don´t even look like chicken. They´ve been eating the waggin train for at least 10 years. I´ve tried every product available with no luck...any suggestions.

#11, it´s fairly easy to make your own pet treats, especially to jerky kind.
Just do a search on "how to make homemade pet treats".

A vast tract of the East Coast, from Washington DC to New York is in danger of being without power for up to two years, if a massive solar flare knocks out the power grid. With the Sun pushing out unusually large solar flares, capable of disrupting power supplies, a device is being proposed that would prevent more than 300 million Americans being left without power. Afghanistan has suspended talks with the US to discuss the nature of US military presence after foreign troops withdraw in 2014. A spokesman for President Hamid Karzai said the decision was taken over "contradictions" in the US proposal of direct talks with the Taliban. Mr Karzai also ruled out talking to the Taliban until the peace process was "Afghan-led". Earlier, four US soldiers died in a Taliban attack at an Afghan air base. A spokesman for the Taliban said the militants had launched two rockets at Bagram airbase, the largest military base for US troops in Afghanistan.

You don´t need to know much about Afghanistan, the nature of extremist movements or world affairs in general to understand one important principle: Never mind what they say, what are they doing? So while last night the Afghan Taliban released a statement (carefully co-ordinated with the White House) expressing their commitment to finding a political solution to Afghanistan´s conflict, this morning we wake to news that they launched a mortar attack on Bagram air base last night, killing four Americans. [Snip] The problem is that the US is negotiating not from a position of strength but a position of weakness.

It does not state where shoppers can find the garment and internet searches prove fruitless. An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.
