Senate approves Kerry for
secretary of state

The Senate overwhelmingly confirmed President Obama´s choice of five-term Sen. John Kerry to be secretary of state, with Republicans and Democrats praising him as the ideal successor to Hillary Rodham Clinton. The vote Tuesday was 94-3. One senator -- Kerry -- voted present and accepted congratulations from colleagues on the Senate floor. The roll call came just hours after the Senate Foreign Relations Committee unanimously approved the man who has led the panel for the past four years. Kerry could be sworn in as early as Wednesday. A welcoming ceremony is planned at the State Department on Monday.

America´s unique position in the world is such that the guiding principles of our dealings with our adversaries should be denial and containment. Every fiber in this despicable man´s being is focused in exactly the opposite direction - appeasement, accomodation and enablement. He might know the nuts and bolts of statecraft, but that is not the issue. It is like saying Eichmann was fit for the job because he was a logistics expert! 94 to 3 is a shameful disgrace.

Compliments are due to Inhofe, Cornyn and Cruz for voting no. kerr is vile and the stupidest presidential candidate ever. It is unacceptable that over 40 GOP senators voted for the leftist gasbag, tax cheat, liar, elitist hypocrite traitor.

I cannot blame MA for voting for him all these years as they voted for Teddy despite that he was involved in the death of a woman. MA voteres are brain-dead.

But to elevate Kerry to such an important position with the US facing terrorism on a daily basis from sub-human people, is beyond irresponsible and criminal.

If Benghazi happened under HRC´s watch, just wait for the next hit under Kerry´s watch. At least, HRC had Bubba as back up. Teresa cannot do squat for Kerry unless she, buys them.

Sorry folks.....but this should be fun to watch. Kerry has NEVER held a real job, Kerry has never been in a real management position. Kerry has NEVER had to make decisions. He is even less qualified for the post than Obama was to be president.

Unfortunatly, this appointment will have real consequences, but I see US foreign policy and the State Department in full melt down mode within a year. AT least Clinton had the experience of being first lady and probably half the people at state admire her, for whatever reason. Is there anyone out there that truly likes Kerry? He´s an arrogant, pompas, know it all, wrong on every issue jackass.

Poster 16 asks if anyone likes Kerry? Alas, yes. Kerry came within one state (Ohio) of unseating W. in 2004. Stinging more is : 1)
Obama´s margin over Romney is greater than Bush´s margin over Kerry; 2) Obama won the popular vote twice; Bush, once.

Hair + unearned wealth + Massachusetts + sophomoric self-righteous liberalism = a distinguished career in politics. Everything is permitted. Indeed, a touch of scandal seems to add some zest to the dreary neo-Puritanism of Massachusetts´ religious liberalism. It makes the saints human for the congregation.

But boil it all down re: Kerry and I think it in his case it is mainly the hair. He would not be where he is today and would not have the wealth he has without that head of hair. It would be interesting to know how much he spends on it. It is his principal personal asset, his ticket to ride, and I expect pays a lot of attention to it.

DNC Chair and Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) told Meet the Press’ David Gregory Sunday morning that President Barack Obama’s latest delay in the approval of the proposed Keystone Pipeline was not a political decision meant to animate members of the Democratic base ahead of the 2014 midterms. “As a member of Congress who represents hundreds of thousands of people in south Florida, I want to make sure the right decision is arrived at and that the president makes that decision carefully and doesn’t factor politics into his decision, which I don’t think he is,” Wasserman Schultz said. LAS VEGAS — Deep beneath Lake Mead, a 23-foot-tall tunnel-boring machine grinds through stubborn bedrock in a billion-dollar effort to make sure water continues flowing to this thirsty resort city. For six years, the Southern Nevada Water Authority has been building an intake straw below the reservoir´s two existing pipes. Due for completion in fall 2015, critics say it may not provide a long-term solution. An ongoing drought and the Colorado River´s stunted flow have shrunk Lake Mead to its lowest level in generations. The reservoir, which supplies 90% of Las Vegas´ water, is ebbing as though a plug had been

In an op-ed published in the Boston Globe on Easter Sunday and posted on the State Department website, Secretary of State John Kerry recalled his days as an altar boy and pointed out that he is “the first Catholic Secretary of State in 33 years.” Alexander Haig, who served as secretary of state to President Ronald Reagan from January 1981 to July 1982, was also a Catholic. Last month, I traveled to Rome with President Obama, where I was honored to meet His Holiness Pope Francis,” said Kerry. “As an altar boy six decades ago, I never imagined that I

Fort Myers police responded to the chaotic scene shortly before 8 p.m. at the Second Haitian Baptist Church on 3660 Central Ave., Lt. Victor Medico said. When officers arrived, church members were using car jacks to try to lift the vehicle off churchgoers who were trapped underneath. Ten of the injured were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital, one of which was discharged late Sunday.

The Obamas’ motorcade left the White House shortly before 10 a.m. (Snip) The motorcade pulled up to the church, about four miles away, just after 10. The first family arrived through a tented entrance and sat in the second pew in a mostly, but not completely filled church, joining an estimated 250 others. The president wore a light khaki suit. CLEARWATER — In the mid-1970s, Wayne Phillips saw a television program telling the story of the Shroud of Turin, a centuries-old linen cloth that bears the image of a crucified man. At first, he was miffed. Years of Catholic schooling — Jesuit High School in Tampa and Notre Dame University — and he had never known about this artifact? (He would later learn that it was a delicate subject at the Vatican.) A doctor, he has a curious mind. A mind shaped by logic and by science. But as a Catholic, he understands some beliefs are still a mystery. He

Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House.
