| RUSH: The Drive-By Media, the State-Controlled Media is abuzz -- bzz bzz bzz bzz bzz -- with the fact that Senator Marco Rubio will be our guest on this program in exactly one hour. They´re all talking about it. And the subject, of course, is amnesty. Uh, uh, sorry. Immigration reform. (imitating McCain) "Meaningful, comprehensive immigration reform, Limbaugh, that´s what it is. It´s not amnesty. We don´t call it amnesty." Sorry. Exactly right, Senator. It´s meaningful, comprehensive immigration reform. We put together a montage of the media all atwitter

Rubio is intelligent, an excellent speaker and nice to look at. A real hat trick.

Rubio is a fraud. Many are easily fooled smooth talking metrosexual, ala Obama. Amnesty for 11-20 million illegals is not a conservative principle, especially in this job market. Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin are not stupid. Rubio is the stupid one. The idea that millions of border state illegals are going to vote GOP because they´ll be business owners is a sick joke. 70% vote Democrat, as they have since Carter --even after Reagan gave them amnesty. Ah but Rubio looks great in a suit. Good grief. Stupid people should not be allowed to vote.

#2, repeat over and over again: Obama is the enemy. The Democrats are the enemy. People like Rubio, Boehner, McConnell, Romney, Graham and even McCain are NOT the enemy. They may often disappoint you or frustrate you because they don´t support you on all issues, but they are still preferable to the leftist Democrats by a wide margin. Once you and other anti-RINO inquisitors get that straight, then we might be able to mount a successful offensive against our real enemies.

#3, my friend, I have been preaching that message ever since I found this wonderful website. The granting of amnesty to 11-20 million law violators is not just another issue. In my opinion, it would mean a permanent minority status for the GOP, and, by extension, death of the Constitution. I´m a moderate, but at some point you´ve got to draw a line in the sand and amnesty is my line. If they approve this, the GOP is dead to me. I understand the need for compromise -- especially after last election -- but amnesty would be a structural and permanent shift in the electorate heavily favoring democrats in key swing states like NM, CO, NV, AZ, FL, and even VA and NC. I don´t think people out there understand how big of an issue this is.

Well, another one bites the dust. Rubio now officially disgusts me. I really don´t even care about his philosophy on this issue, the fact that he is obsessed with THIS crap when there are so many battles to be fought and won, and yet he wastes conservatives time with something not one true American feels is justifiable. Even Levin is dancing with this annoyance, despite the fact that anyone else who had the God-awful naivete to deal with the likes of Schumer and McCain would be excoriated.

Excellent comments #4. You speak for those of us who are grateful for what this country has represented for over 200 years, and how it was brought into existence. It is now being treated like a Monopoly Game. They, Republicans and Democrats alike, are selling our heritage and our future. I am beginning to loathe their lack of regard for these things many of us care deeply about.

#2 is correct and I will add that Marco Rubio is doing this for himself. He wants to be president and if destroying this country is what it takes then so be it.

Junk Science: Despite no evidence that devastating tornadoes have increased in frequency or intensity due to fossil fuel use, another warm-monger blames the Moore, Okla., disaster on GOP "polluters and deniers." Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., thought the devastation of Moore was a crisis that should not be wasted as he took to the Senate floor Monday to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic (man-caused) global warming (known by its acronym, AGW). Other Democratic leaders like Al Gore, who profited handsomely off the manufactured hysteria, and President Obama, who promised the sea level would stop

Free Market: The government has decided that less intervention on its part will be better for economic growth. Is this a new initiative coming out of Washington? No. This is the thinking in Beijing. Under the headline "China Cuts Red Tape As Premier Li Shows Stimulus Reluctance," Bloomberg reported last week that Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, who "pledged to reduce the government´s role in the world´s second biggest economy after a new leadership took over in March," wants to cut red tape and regulation. Bloomberg went on to report that Chinese government "authorities" are "reluctant to use stimulus to counter

Leadership: Is Barack Obama the president or not? If you were visiting from another planet, you´d have to wonder. He says he learns what his government is doing from the news, and seems detached from his role as leader. Let´s take Obama at his word (for now) that he didn´t know his Justice Department was spying on reporters. Or that his IRS agents were targeting his political enemies. Or that al-Qaida was attacking his diplomats — after they´d asked for more protection, which he also didn´t know about. The ignorance and incompetence defense looks just as bad as guilt.

Democratic lawmakers on the Senate Finance Committee said Tuesday the IRS, while engaging in “unacceptable” targeting of conservative groups, may have been set up for failure by campaign finance law ambiguities that allowed tax-exempt groups to engage in partisan politics without disclosing their donors. In the Senate’s first hearing on revelations that the tax agency had targeted tea party and other conservative groups for special scrutiny, Democrats focused largely on the foggy environment that led to the scandal, while minority Republican members of the panel excoriated senior IRS officials

RUSH: It took five minutes. Five minutes. It only took five minutes before the Democrat Party politicized the tornado in Oklahoma. They politicize everything, folks. They rub their hands together in glee when there is a natural disaster that they think they can spin in such a way as to advance their political agenda. If any of you doubt that global warming is a political issue and not a science issue, then you must open your mind and consider why in the world, ask yourself, why in the world, five minutes

The Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday afternoon that Lois Lerner, who heads up the Internal Revenue Service´s tax-exempt division, plans to invoke the Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in a hearing Wednesday before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Affairs. The Fifth Amendment provides that U.S. citizens may not be compelled to offer testimony if telling the truth would incriminate them. Lerner´s defense lawyer, William W. Taylor III, wrote to the committee on Tuesday that his client would refuse to answer questions related to what she knew about the extra levels of scrutiny appled to

RUSH: The IRS commissioner, Steven Miller, has just admitted in a Senate hearing this morning, Senate testimony this morning, guess what he´s admitted? The targeting of conservative groups at the IRS was partisan. He said so this morning. Now, I guess the threat of perjury has a way of squeezing the truth out, because it was only last week that Mr. Miller said there was nothing partisan about this. This morning he admitted that targeting conservative groups is partisan. Of course, everybody knew that. The shock was that he said,

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming. Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters. “So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care? Why do you, Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, care
