| An Indiana couple faces jail time for nursing a near-dead deer back to health, in apparent violation of the state’s Department of Natural Resources rules for returning wild animals to the forest. The couple — Jeff Counceller, a police officer, and his wife, Jennifer — found the deer in 2010 on a porch, curled into a ball, with maggot-filled puncture wounds, the Associated Press reported. The two cared for the animal on their 17-acre Connersville home, according to the Associated Press. State conservation officers recently visited the home and discovered the deer, according to ABC News.

Are you frickin´ kidding me? The man is a POLICE OFFICER, for crying out loud. Things like this just make me want to chew nails. God bless these folks for caring for this animal. I hope the DNR gets some major MAJOR blowback for this.
Also, how did state conservation officers happen to visit this home, hmmmmm??? I can count on...oh, zero fingers the number of times they´ve ever visited my home.

Young wild animals are easily tamed when cared for in such situations. The deer probably didn´t want to go back to the woods after becoming accustomed to nourishment and care. Who can blame it? Government employees probably got a report from a sour neighbor, and you know how the government stooges are. They are just there to help you.
As a farmer I have had to deal with bureaucrats who love to lord it over you and display their power, and they don´t usually even know what they are talking about. Too bad, they can´t be fired, you know, even if they are in the wrong.

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.
