60 Minutes: Kroft, Clinton and
the death of public integrity

Washington Times, by Jack Cashill

WASHINGTON, DC — On Sunday evening, January 27, Steve Kroft embarrassed himself, CBS, 60 Minutes, and the American media in general with an historically sycophantic interview of President Barack Obama and outgoing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. When Obama and Clinton were offstage, Kroft did refer to the Benghazi fiasco as “the biggest diplomatic disaster of this administration,” but the questions he asked them on camera were prefaced with comments like, “You had a very long day [at the hearings]. Also, how is your health?” Kroft introduced other questions with remarks like,

Comments:
I´m glad Mr. Cashill is on our side. He´s always correct in his writings.

Clinton lied. He lied to a federal grand jury!! He, the chief executive officer of the federal government, the man who appoints judges, lied to a grand jury... and got nothing. This is the MOST amazing fact in presidential history. And the most powerful example of what a corrupt and compacent media can do.

Obama is the greatest example of what a corrupt and complacent media can do.

We don´ have any idea of the depth of corruption in this administration. Multiply what you think exists by at least 100.

Kroft isn´t embarrased.

Twenty-one years ago, when the Clintons first surfaced on the national stage, 60 Minutes was a serious program,

Clinton looked this country in the eye and he said "yes I smoked pot, but I didn´t inhale"

In that statement he said two things: "I´m going to lie to you, and I expect you to go long with it."

I knew that something was wrong with our country when we failed to dismiss this man out of hand. It took me a few months, but I left the Democrat party because of the fact that they refused to reject Bill Clinton. I did the right thing. I am a better man than Bill Clinton. I´ve watched good, dignified people that I respect just shred themselves on behalf of this man, a man who isn´t half as good as they are.

I still don´t understand this. There were and probably are 500 Democrats in the U.S. that could make fine effective Presidents who would serve this country well.

The clinton´s are a powerful argument for Limited Government.

It is impossible to embarrass CBS.

Kroft, a little late to the funeral. How is HIS health?

Did I hear correctly? Did BHO refer to HRC (Piaps to us oldtimers) as "one of the best Secretary of States"? I thought so.

Who expected more from either of those two?

However, we did expect from from O´Reilly, who refused to condemn Zippy before this election despite ALL we knew about him long before then. Rather, O´Reilly lamely said the Marxist anti-American was nothing more than a politician.

Perhaps Tim Russert was the only media person who might have asked the "tough" questions, yet he died too young. Just like Andrew Breitbart, and so many others. It seems to happen over and over again.

Yeah I used to watch 60 Minutes. When Morely died that was it...

In 2007, then Senator Barack Obama appeared on CNN´s Larry King Live and called on U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales to resign. Obama said Gonzales was acting more like the president´s attorney than the people´s attorney and viewed himself as an "enabler of the administration." "Well, I voted against Alberto Gonzales confirmation for precisely the reason we are seeing now. I said this on the floor of the senate, that although he seemed to be a capable attorney, he seemed to conceive his role as being the president´s attorney instead of being the people´s attorney," Obama said.

MARK LEVIN: So why didn´t Chairman Issa hold an investigative hearing a year ago? Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. They fight us in the primaries, they fight us at the grassroots.

The way to prevent abortionists like convicted murderer Kermit Gosnell from occurring again is to build more Planned Parenthood clinics, Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) said at a House Judiciary Subcommittee hearing on Thursday about legislation that would prevent abortion after 20 weeks nationwide. “I would urge my colleagues to think about the extent to which he, Dr. Gosnell, represented the poor quality of health care services available in poorer communities,” Nadler said at the Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice hearing. “We should be working to make sure that high quality

House Speaker John A. Boehner on Thursday flatly ruled out chances of the House passing the Senate’s immigration bill, saying his chamber will debate its own bill instead. The Ohio Republican and his top lieutenants in the party issued a joint statement that seemed designed to tamp down some of the momentum behind the Senate bill, which emerged from a committee on a bipartisan 13-5 vote this week, and to stake out a House GOP position. “While we applaud the progress made by our Senate colleagues, there are numerous ways in which

Bombshell: Eric Holder Lied

During friendly questioning from Rep. Hank “I fear that Guam will capsize!” Johnson in Congress last week, Attorney General Eric Holder offered the following statement. In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material. This is not something I’ve ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be wise policy. He made that statement before the facts about the sweep on Fox News’ James Rosen were known. Since then, it’s come to light that Holder himself approved the subpoena that, among other things, named Rosen as a criminal co-conspirator.

As the saying goes, scratch a liberal and you’ll find a tyrant underneath. NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo is but the latest example. He shoved a very restrictive and ill-considered gun law through the state legislature in the dead of night. Among its flaws, the law criminalized police officers who tote firearms with magazines that hold more than seven rounds. Sheriffs around the state have objected to the law. Cuomo summoned them to the state capitol under what appears to be a false pretext, and used the meeting to threaten them into silence. Cuomo invited

The National Council of La Raza (translation: The Race) has partnered with the Office of Personnel Management to encourage Hispanic activists and members to burrow into the federal government. A workshop sponsored by La Raza/The Race will take place in New Orleans on July 23, 2013. Senior Executive Service (SES) employees are federal government employees in special executive management positions, often with salaries approaching $200,000 per year (and well past that with benefits). Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

Fox News chief Roger Ailes has sent a memo to his subordinates at the leading cable news network. He sent this memo to his staff today in connection with the federal investigation into an alleged leak to Fox News reporter James Rosen, a story that the Washington Post’s Ann E. Marimow broke earlier this week. The memo’s a masterpiece, too. For all those who wonder what it is about Ailes that endears his people to him — and that makes him such a good interviewee for any media reporter lucky enough to get an audience

WASHINGTON —In a dramatic departure from existing White House procedures, President Obama requested today that his staff start cc’ing him on stuff. “Look, I know a lot of you think I’m really busy and you don’t want to bother me,” the President reportedly told his staff in an Oval Office meeting. “But cc me anyway. It’s good for me to keep up on what’s going on around here.” “It’s not good when I turn on the news and they’re talking about something at the White House and I’m like, whoa, when did that happen?”
