| Mere hours after Breitbart News published an excerpt from an interview with Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) in which he speculated that President Barack Obama would "prefer a different kind of constitution," one with a Bill of Rights based on the South African model, former Obama administration regulatory czar Cass Sunstein published an op-ed making a similar argument: that the president wants a "second Bill of Rights" alongside the existing one. Sunstein located the source of Obama´s inspiration in Franklin Delano Roosevelt´s 1944 State of the Union address

Sunstein points out Roosevelt was not a socialist--and yet many of the "rights" he proposed were inspired by socialist policies. The Soviet constitution of 1936, too, included the right to work, among other guarantees.
The fact is that Roosevelt WAS a socialist, and some of his policy advisers were out-and-out communists. And why should the U.S. want to embrace the tenets of the Soviet constitution as our own?

Our present Bill of Rights is just fine. I hope these idiots remember the military swears to protect and defend the Constitution agains all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC. I took the oath many years ago and I still mean it.

If all those new "rights" became enshrined in the US Constitution it would be the government through "investments" made by taxpayers that would be paying to ensure that all the new "rights" became reality. Then eventually nobody would have any money and everybody would be equal.

No way will 38 states vote for this. They´re just pushing and pushing to trigger a revolt, so they can ´reluctantly´ impose martial law and then anything goes with these libtard miscreants. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says it wants as many as 20 percent of its workers to "telework," use an "alternative work schedule," or do both, in order to "reduce green house gas emissions," decrease "employee stress," and give these government workers more time for "planning and preparing healthy meals." So says one of the HHS "performance measures" detailed in an appendix to the department´s latest strategic plan. HHS´s performance measure "4.D.05" says: "Increase the percent employees on telework or on Alternative Work Schedule." Telework means working from home via phone and computer.

It is most often used by the powerful on anyone less powerful as a symbolic sacrifice. Steven Miller, the now former acting commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, is the latest victim of ritual sacrifice. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. A healthcare provider has sued the Internal Revenue Service and 15 of its agents, charging they wrongfully seized 60 million medical records from 10 million Americans. The name of the provider is not yet known, United Press International said. But Courthouse News Service said the suit claims the agency violated the Fourth Amendment in 2011, when agents executed a search warrant for financial data on one employee – and that led to the seizure of information on 10 million, including state judges. The search warrant did not specify that the IRS could take medical information, UPI said.
