Two weeks ago when President Obama annnounced his new executive actions on gun control surrounded by children and Vice President Joe Biden he said, "Studies estimate that nearly 40 percent of all gun sales are made by private sellers who are exempt from this requirement.” From the Washington Post fact checker:Earlier this week, we gave this claim a “verdict pending.” We said we faced a bit of a conundrum because the 40 percent statistic was based on a single, relatively small survey of 251 people from nearly two decades ago —

The biggest lie is that he was elegible to run for POTUS.

As the saying goes, "You can tell he´s lying if his lips are moving." I´m afraid our President has a very casual aquaintence with the truth. It serves as a balance with his convenitent memory.

It´s a shame the corrections to the lies are rarely heard by the same people who heard the first lie. By design, POTUS et al lie publicly, it´s broadcast by the MSM and gets watched by LoVos on CNN, ABC, etc.
But the corrections are usually heard on Fox News, conservative internet sites or talk radio, which the lie-ees never bother to frequent.
So, the lie stands and the debunking of the lies vanish into thin air. By design.
This is why we need a massive series of networks of our own. Right now, Fox and talk radio are all we´ve got to reach the LoVos with the truth.

The thing about this is that it the Obama Administration is saying that they need more laws on the books regulating the sale of guns. Yet, they also say they do not have time to prosecute those who break the laws that are already on the books. This is the point to emphasize to those who argue for more gun control: the government does not enforce the laws ALREADY on the books, why would anyone believe that they are going to enforce any new laws? For that matter, how can you argue that we need more laws when the government doesn´t use the ones already on the books? Maybe all that is needed to fix the problem (I´m not sure there is a problem, but those who argue for more gun control believe there is) is for the government to start enforcing the current laws?

Where the second amendment is concerned, it isn´t constitutional to have ANY laws on the books regarding possession (to keep) or carrying (and bear) of arms (and that´s more than just firearms). Think about it.

He said "up to 40%". There was a study on record that claimed 40%. Others suggested lower rates. It is perfectly accurate to say "up to 40%". It may be misleading if the true number is closer to 22%, but it is certainly not a ´fib´.
Today´s background check rules only pick up those with serious mental illness and a history of psychotic breaks if they have been involuntarily hospitalized. Many have been hospitalized voluntarily; this would not pick those up. It also won´t pick up those who have had psychotic breaks and would like to be on the ´do not sell´ lists, but haven´t been adjudicated mentally ill. Mental illness is a medical condition, not a legal condition. It makes no sense that the final arbiter of which people are too mentally ill to purchase guns is a judge and not a doctor.

Former News Corp president Peter Chernin has bid around $500 million for Hulu, the online video streaming service he helped create in 2007, according to two sources with knowledge of Hulu´s sale process. The website, jointly controlled by News Corp and Walt Disney Co, reached out to potential buyers in March after initially contemplating a deal in which one would buy out the other. After lengthy investigations, the Pentagon has determined that three Army generals committed misconduct in separate incidents, adding to an unusually long list of senior military commanders who have been censured over the past year.On Friday, defense officials confirmed that Army Maj. Gen. Ralph O. Baker, the commander of a strategic counterterrorism force on the Horn of Africa, was fired March 28 on charges of sexual misconduct. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?"
