| Bob Schieffer of CBS News described President Obama´s recent opening remarks at the gun control press conference as, "one of the best speeches I´ve ever heard him deliver". Schieffer went on to praise the president´s cause as similar to the ten-year hunt for Osama bin Laden and Lyndon Johnson´s successful attempt to pass civil rights legislation. Although Schieffer indicated that more than an Obama speech would be required, this wasn´t objective journalism but slobbering praise for a man with a checkered record of accomplishment.

I hate to think how much Schieffer shells out on getting a room. Maybe he bought a motel franchise all over the US for himself and his drive-by buddies.

When a business like CBS attracts customers by claiming to deliver objective news, but instead only delivers slobbering praise for the Left, isn´t that illegal in terms of truth-in-advertizing laws? And when you break the law, aren´t there supposed to be legal consequences? Why, of all the businesses in America, are only Obama´s court eunuchs exempt from legal accountability?

The real problem is that no one ever, ever dare offer even faint criticism to a black person. Obama was elected for one reason only --- his skin color --- and he will be protected and adored by suicidal whites for that reason.

Schieffer is a panegyrist.
His job is to make the President look good.
The speech which he praised is full of fluff. It is false in all of its particulars. It usurps power unashamedly. It trashes the Constitution. Aside from that, it was a shouted propaganda preoration, intended to rouse the mob to overthrow our legally established government.
So what else is new?

It appears the Republican Party establishment and some conservative commentators have come up with another mistaken tactic to woo the low information and undecided voters. With the avalanche of scandals swirling around the Obama administration and the Democratic Party, the political message promoted by these politicians and pundits is that these scandals are the outcome of a government that has grown too large to control and should therefore be dramatically cut back.

The current abusive conduct by the IRS is breathtaking in its audacity. When you look at last Friday´s testimony Acting Commisioner Steven Miller there is a clear disconnect -- the doesn´t think anyone did anything illegal, unconstitutional, or even wrong. Apart from a stark posture of arrogance and negative body language, he represents a very large group of people we need to worry about. This guy is beyond zealotry -- he has gone straight to certainty that he is right, his actions are justified and he can´t be touched. He´s like Obama´s buddy Bill Ayers

After running an errand at the Courthouse, I decided to pop into the Barrister Bar and Bistro for a quick bite. The place was packed and Charlie, the maitre d´, shrugged his shoulders apologetically. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

By all accounts, today´s college campuses grow more intolerant by the day. We move closer to the old Soviet Empire, where political dissidents risked the gulag for even joking about Marxism. In the U.S., however, the hate crimes concern anything that touches on race, ethnicity, gender differences, diversity, and sexuality (see here and here). Even an old-fashioned ethnic joke almost guarantees mandatory counseling. Skeptics need only look at the pervasiveness of campus speech codes, coerced sensitivity training, the mandatory injection of multicultural propaganda into courses, and other top-down censorship.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election.
