San Diego Police Chief, William Lansdowne said in an interview that the implementation of new gun laws will take guns off the streets of America within a generation. According to San Diego 6, Lansdowne said that it may take a generation but guns will eventually be taken off the streets through new laws like Senator Dianne Feinstein´s proposed assault weapons ban: "Chief Lansdowne, who plays an active role in the western region of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) association, said it may take a generation but guns will eventually be taken off the streets through new laws
Having spent 37 years in the People´s Democratic Republic of Kalifornia, before I made my escape from the gulag, I can certainly see how his thoughts could actually happen in that socialist state. But if he thinks it is going to happen nationwide, then he´s been in Colorado enjoying some of that stinky weed.I would offer him the opportunity to come visit me and personally attempt to take my firearms.
Probably no drugs on the streets either since the "War on Drugs" has been so successful. The only thing this can mean is disarming law abiding citizens as criminals will always have guns. Or, the guy is an idiot.
He´s appointed #3. Like many "retired" hero cop chiefs he just retires from one chief position and is hired by another. Sometimes they are hired for stuff like a school district or some other government BS.
Police Chiefs are not elected by the people. They are hired by the city they work for. They are nothing but lackies for the current political office holders. The opinions of these Democratic Chiefs are of no account.
There´s always a liberal that lets the cat out of the bag and tells us what they really intend beyond their lying.
Liberals are all about incrementalism and conservatives are too busy working and goi g about our lives thinking are liberty is guaranteed and the freedom we love will last forever. Truth is, liberals are always working underground and in the background trying to usurp that liberty and crush individualism. And we have been asleep while they have been hard at work.
Now they are out in the open believing they can make their move to take this country from us using the ignorant, the gullible, the media, academia and entertainment. The sad thing is that we may have slept too long. They may be right. The country may already be gone.
I agree with #14, #15, and #16. Chief Landsdowne was appointed after a stint in San Jose. San Diego is a fine city, so I hope you enjoy your visit #14. San Diego used to be very a conservative, military-focused city, but like every other city I can think of, it´s changing for the worse, i.e., becoming liberal and stupid.
I´m not going to give up my firearms, period. The police have no legal right to seize them. They also have no legal obligation whatever to protect any individual. The Supreme Court said so. Their only obligation is to enforce the law - as best they can.
I´ve never quite understood why so many law enforcement officers want to take guns away from law-abiding citizens. It seems they want a total monopoly on firearms, which is hardly helpful for enforcing the law or for protecting innocent individuals from violent criminals.
American citizens are arming for the upcoming revolution. The libnut gun grabbers and tyrannical gov´t should think seriously about the consequences of confiscating guns or imposing restrictions on law abiding citizens.
Law abiding citizens are not the problem. The problem is the complete collapse of criminal control.
When guns are banned, such as they are in England, this is what you will read in the San Diego Papers. In London yesterday, Jan 27, 2013, "A 16-year-old boy was heard screaming for his life before he was fatally stabbed by a gang armed with knives and swords, residents of a well-heeled area of London said today." If he had a concealed weapons permit, he probably would not even have had to fire it, just show it and those cowards would have high tailed it out of sight. We cannot trust the cops to save us because they cannot be everywhere at once.
Here is one anecdote to show the chief how wrong he is. New York State has a tough gun law. Last week, a 17 year old lad, first name Romeo, was appearing before a local judge for illegal possession of a loaded 357 magnum revolver. And less than a year ago, the lad was convicted of shooting at people with a 357 magnum pistol. The most recent gun possession charge resulted in a plea bargain - the judge approved a reduction in charges to a misdemeanor. Romeo said he needed time to think it over. If existing gun laws were enforced, there would be a dramatic reduction in guns on the street. But that will not happen, because the constituents, many of them black and gangbangers, wouldn´t support the democrats.
Hispanic gangs are currently running parts of San Diego and are working closely with Mexican Cartels. It would be nice if this bozo Sheriff would clean up his county and leave the rest of the country protect ourselves.
What big city in CA. cannot convince citizens to wear clothes in public? Is it San Francisco? Can´t convince people to wear clothes in a civilized society, but will be able to convince people to give up their guns. Don´t think so...
For those of you who think the police wont side with the democrats in their gun grab, this chief is one who will. And take a good look at the chiefs and officers that appear on stage with Barack or DiFi or any of the gun grabbers. They will side against us and the constitution. Make no mistake. These people are not our friends.
All the feds have to do is make all gun crimes federal felony offenses with mandatory sentences. Why is this not discussed?
Feinstein intends to make it impossible for gun & ammo mfg´s to produce & distribute products in the US. Then a major confiscation will occur, once Holder has his database of owners complete. That is why this guy said they´ll be gone in a generation.
Many people could die as extreme weather becomes common. There will be more freak winds like the October storm, which killed four people. Heatwaves will be lethal and the sea level will rise, leaving coastal towns at risk of being swamped by storm surges. Sir Brian Heap, president of the European Academies Science Advisory Council, said he felt “obliged” to issue the warning after a new study by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. It comes on the back of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, which has killed more than 5,000 people. Sir Brian said: “Given the tragic events this
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe secured final passage of a bill granting Japan’s government sweeping powers to declare state secrets, a measure aimed at shoring up defense ties with the U.S. that prompted a public backlash and revolt by the opposition. The upper house of the Diet gave final approval of the measures in Tokyo late yesterday after opposition parties first forced a no-confidence vote in Abe’s government in the lower house. The wrangling over the bill forced the government to extend the parliamentary session, due to end yesterday, for two more days. The bill, which forms part of Abe’s broader push to
Washington - In 2008 just before his 90th birthday, the United States gave Nelson Mandela a special present, striking him from a decades-old terror watch list and ending what US officials called "a rather embarrassing matter." By then the anti-apartheid icon had long left behind the jail cells where he was incarcerated for 27 years, and was already enjoying retirement and his status as one of the most revered statesmen of the 20th century after becoming South Africa´s first black president. In past years, US officials have beaten a path to his door in his family village hoping some of his almost
I could only stand watching a couple of minutes of the Chris Matthews interview of the president before flipping back to the dog channel. Biased TV is boring TV and Matthews didn´t disappoint. "He came to us. He came amongst us." said Mr. Tingles. Mary Katherine Ham: And, lo, the president came upon them, and the glory of the president shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. As for the interview itself, it was "extraordinary," according to other MSNBC contributors. It includes such insights as Joe Biden will go down in history as one of the greatest veeps of all time. And, the
The hippy-fueled magazine Mother Jones that helped torpedo Mitt Romney´s campaign wants your tax dollars to fund its crusade for the radical transformation of American society. Specifically, the extremist, George Soros-funded rag that published the story of Romney´s ill-received "47 percent" comments is counseling its interns to apply for taxpayer-funded food stamps so they can survive their voluntary servitude in ultra-expensive San Francisco. The locus of latte liberalism where the muckraking publication is headquartered has the highest rents in the nation. In a feature story about how rotten left-of-center magazines are to their interns, left-winger Charles Davis reports at Vice: One former MJ
Yet another phenomenon with a long paper trail in Islamic history has just taken place, even as the Western "mainstream" -- little acquainted with true history or reality -- dismisses it as an aberration. Asia News has the details: Islamist rebels have kidnapped a group of nuns from the Greek Orthodox monastery of St Thecla (Mar Taqla) in Maaloula [an ancient Christian community where Christians were earlier forced to convert to Islam or die]... "Armed men burst in the monastery of St Thecla in Maaloula this afternoon [Dec. 2]. From there, they forcibly took 12 women religious," Mgr Zenari said ....
Cast your mind back a couple of years, sayeth the Ghost of Christmas Past, when the Magnificent O had only begun to tarnish his brand. Then our fab prez had this to say about the evils of... ATMs, per Russell Roberts at the Wall Street Journal: "There are some structural issues with our economy where a lot of businesses have learned to become much more efficient with a lot fewer workers," he said. "You see it when you go to a bank and you use an ATM, you don´t go to a bank teller, or you go to the airport and
Last summer on his $100 million family tour of Africa, Barack Obama hoped for a priceless photo op with Nelson Mandela, the ailing freedom pioneer who went from prison cell to the presidency of South Africa. Mandela´s family suggested that wouldn’t happen. So, the Obamas did a photo op in Mandela´s former prison cell. Which Obama’s White House quickly tweeted upon word of the icon´s passing at 95. [Skip] But Obama was also caught staring at television coverage of Mandela’s passing, which became Obama’s Photo of the Day.
More young men in California rise in pitch at the end of their sentences when talking, new research shows. This process is known as "uptalk" or "valleygirl speak" and has in the past been associated with young females, typically from California or Australia. But now a team says that this way of speaking is becoming more frequent among men.The findings were presented at the Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America in California. "We found use of uptalk in all of our speakers, despite their diverse backgrounds in socioeconomic status, ethnicity, bilingualism and gender," said Amanda Ritchart, a linguist at the University of
DAVID CORN: I saw a president who remains frustrated with the political-media culture that he has to work within, and that he´s looking to rally people, students here, and supporters, and people within the media. CHRIS MATTHEWS: But David Corn, you skeptic. He came to us today. He came amongst us. CORN: He´s trying to rally people behind this vision that he´s been promoting for a couple years. FINEMAN: By the way, he did it the end here, today, Chris, not by defending specifics, but by explaining why he´s in the game to begin with. And I don´t know about you, he´s
The most curious thing of all about the November jobs report released on Friday was the huge drop in the unemployment rate — and the fact that the Labor Department chose not to disclose that the data going into that figure are under investigation for falsification. On Nov. 19, I broke the news in my column that the Census Bureau, which collects data that goes into the jobless rate on behalf of Labor, had caught one of its enumerators fabricating interviews in 2010. The culprit said back then (and to me during an interview) that he was told to do so by
Denver - A baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex ceremony must serve gay couples despite his religious beliefs or face fines, a judge said Friday. The order from administrative law judge Robert N. Spencer said Masterpiece Cakeshop in suburban Denver discriminated against a couple "because of their sexual orientation by refusing to sell them a wedding cake for their same-sex marriage." The order says the cake-maker must "cease and desist from discriminating" against gay couples. Although the judge did not impose fines in this case, the business will face penalties if it continues to turn away gay

In February, the Bush family’s personal emails were hacked by Guccifer, a hacker who uncovered photographs of former President George H. W. Bush in a hospital bed and George W. Bush’s oil paintings in the process. It seems Guccifer has struck again, this time targeting former President Bill Clinton and the Clinton Library. The hacker has reportedly uncovered doodles of Clinton drawing on what were, at the time, classified documents. Among the doodles is apparently a picture of a penis. The document uncovered is a briefing of the strategic measures the United States could take prior Clinton’s decision to intervene in
