San Diego Police Chief, William Lansdowne said in an interview that the implementation of new gun laws will take guns off the streets of America within a generation. According to San Diego 6, Lansdowne said that it may take a generation but guns will eventually be taken off the streets through new laws like Senator Dianne Feinstein´s proposed assault weapons ban: "Chief Lansdowne, who plays an active role in the western region of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) association, said it may take a generation but guns will eventually be taken off the streets through new laws

Off the streets would be fine. Out of legal gun owners´ hands is another thing.

Wow! Does that mean criminals will be off the streets within a generation? They won´t give up their guns, you know.

Well if this expert opinion comes from his intimate involvement with the enforcement success of our Heroin laws we know at least one thing: he is either barking mad or functionaly illiterate.

First....dis-arm the south side of Chicago and then we can discuss "Scale-ability".

"Off the Streets" sounds a lot like code for out of my wife´s secure gun-safe and Grandma´s cute, beaded opera clutch.

Having spent 37 years in the People´s Democratic Republic of Kalifornia, before I made my escape from the gulag, I can certainly see how his thoughts could actually happen in that socialist state. But if he thinks it is going to happen nationwide, then he´s been in Colorado enjoying some of that stinky weed.I would offer him the opportunity to come visit me and personally attempt to take my firearms.

Probably no drugs on the streets either since the "War on Drugs" has been so successful. The only thing this can mean is disarming law abiding citizens as criminals will always have guns. Or, the guy is an idiot.

I am planning to visit that fine city in about 3 weeks. Based on this loon´s comment, coupled with an understanding of geography, it will be my last trip to that fair city.

Criminals will always possess weaponry be it a zip gun, knife, sword, bale hook, baseball bat or fish gig. Law abiding citizens are the only people who are disarmed by regulation.

This guy needs to retire, along with DiFi, BabsBox, and Moonbeam Brown.

He´s appointed #3. Like many "retired" hero cop chiefs he just retires from one chief position and is hired by another. Sometimes they are hired for stuff like a school district or some other government BS.

Police Chiefs are not elected by the people. They are hired by the city they work for. They are nothing but lackies for the current political office holders. The opinions of these Democratic Chiefs are of no account.

There´s always a liberal that lets the cat out of the bag and tells us what they really intend beyond their lying.

Liberals are all about incrementalism and conservatives are too busy working and goi g about our lives thinking are liberty is guaranteed and the freedom we love will last forever. Truth is, liberals are always working underground and in the background trying to usurp that liberty and crush individualism. And we have been asleep while they have been hard at work.

Now they are out in the open believing they can make their move to take this country from us using the ignorant, the gullible, the media, academia and entertainment. The sad thing is that we may have slept too long. They may be right. The country may already be gone.

I agree with #14, #15, and #16. Chief Landsdowne was appointed after a stint in San Jose. San Diego is a fine city, so I hope you enjoy your visit #14. San Diego used to be very a conservative, military-focused city, but like every other city I can think of, it´s changing for the worse, i.e., becoming liberal and stupid.

I´m not going to give up my firearms, period. The police have no legal right to seize them. They also have no legal obligation whatever to protect any individual. The Supreme Court said so. Their only obligation is to enforce the law - as best they can.

I´ve never quite understood why so many law enforcement officers want to take guns away from law-abiding citizens. It seems they want a total monopoly on firearms, which is hardly helpful for enforcing the law or for protecting innocent individuals from violent criminals.

American citizens are arming for the upcoming revolution. The libnut gun grabbers and tyrannical gov´t should think seriously about the consequences of confiscating guns or imposing restrictions on law abiding citizens.

Law abiding citizens are not the problem. The problem is the complete collapse of criminal control.

When guns are banned, such as they are in England, this is what you will read in the San Diego Papers. In London yesterday, Jan 27, 2013, "A 16-year-old boy was heard screaming for his life before he was fatally stabbed by a gang armed with knives and swords, residents of a well-heeled area of London said today." If he had a concealed weapons permit, he probably would not even have had to fire it, just show it and those cowards would have high tailed it out of sight. We cannot trust the cops to save us because they cannot be everywhere at once.

Here is one anecdote to show the chief how wrong he is.
New York State has a tough gun law.
Last week, a 17 year old lad, first name Romeo, was appearing before a local judge for illegal possession of a loaded 357 magnum revolver. And less than a year ago, the lad was convicted of shooting at people with a 357 magnum pistol.
The most recent gun possession charge resulted in a plea bargain - the judge approved a reduction in charges to a misdemeanor. Romeo said he needed time to think it over.
If existing gun laws were enforced, there would be a dramatic reduction in guns on the street. But that will not happen, because the constituents, many of them black and gangbangers, wouldn´t support the democrats.

And take a good look at the chiefs and officers that appear on stage with Barack or DiFi or any of the gun grabbers. They will side against us and the constitution. Make no mistake. "Guns Will Be Taken Off The Streets"

There lies the problem: what´s on the streets-illegal weapons. Taking guns from law abiding citizens who won´t be able to defend themselves will only worsen the problem.

All the feds have to do is make all gun crimes federal felony offenses with mandatory sentences. Why is this not discussed?

Feinstein intends to make it impossible for gun & ammo mfg´s to produce & distribute products in the US. Then a major confiscation will occur, once Holder has his database of owners complete. That is why this guy said they´ll be gone in a generation.

Men who are physically strong are more likely to take a right wing political stance, while weaker men are inclined to support the welfare state, according to a new study. Researchers discovered political motivations may have evolutionary links to physical strength. Men´s upper-body strength predicts their political opinions on economic redistribution, according to the research. The principal investigators - psychological scientists Michael Bang Petersen, of Aarhus University in Denmark, and Daniel Sznycer, of the University of California in the U.S., believe that the link may reflect psychological traits that evolved in response to our early ancestral environments

While the White House claims its stimulus package “supported as many as 3.5 million jobs,” none were yielded from a $152,000 project to ready lesbians for “adoptive parenthood.” The $833 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), commonly known as the stimulus, awarded the tustees of Clark University, in Worcester, Mass., $152,000 to interview roughly 50 lesbian couples about their adoption experiences. “The goal of this project is to investigate the unique strengths and potential challenges of lesbian couples across the transition to adoptive parenthood,” the grant states. “Given that parental mental health has implications for child development,

Oakland – Judgement day may finally be at hand for a California evangelical radio network used by a preacher to predict—incorrectly—the apocalypse. Oakland-based Family Radio has sold its three largest radio stations, and tax records show the nonprofit network saw its net assets drop to $29.2 million by the end of 2011, from a net worth of $135 million four years earlier. The radio network is run by Harold Camping, who predicted the world would end on May 21, 2011, only to later concede he had no evidence of an impending apocalypse.

Barack Obama can relax and get to work on his hook shot and his putting. The presidential legacy he has fretted over is now clear, well established, safe and secure. The presidential historians can fire up their laptops and let the processing of words begin. It’s too early to conclude, as some Republicans have, that the dam has broken, that the sleeping mainstream media has begun to come out of its sleeping-sickness stupor, and that even Democrats are about to leap out of the way. Not yet. But the dam has clearly sprung a leak.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript
