Baltimore Ravens Safety: NFL Won´t
be in ´Existence´ in 30 Years

Breitbart Sports, by Tony Lee

Original Article

Baltimore Ravens safety Bernard Pollard, one of the fiercest hitters in the game, said he thinks the NFL will not be in existence in 30 years and thinks a player may actually die on the field during a game. "Thirty years from now, I don´t think it will be in existence," Pollard said in an interview with CBS Sports´ Clark Judge. "I could be wrong. It´s just my opinion, but I think with the direction things are going -- where they [NFL rules makers] want to lighten up, and they´re throwing flags and everything

Comments:
The leftists are already laying the groundwork, 0bama included. Rush was right again. If they are they will all be running around the field in pink tights.

NSSL will replace it -- National Skeet Shooting League.

The NFL will do what it needs to do to continue success. Unlike highly regulated industries, the Feds have left the NFL alone (and other pro sports). The NFL needs to balance entertainment (big legal hits) with asset protection (players). And they can modify their rules once a year or even mid season if necessary without some idiot like Fat Nat involved (imagine the NFL with the equivalent of the Chevy ´Dolt´ as its main attraction). So the NFL will do well as long as the incompetents that make up our goobernment are not involved.

I have a Harrison Bergeron solution. Limit the size of the players. That will reduce the severity of the hits. Weight limit of 170 lbs and height limit of 5´ 9".

I probably watched a grand total of 8 football games this season and if the NFL ceased to exist I could care less. Just give me NCAA Football any day over that prima donna nonsense called the NFL.

Coming from a cheap shot player like himself....yeah, I also hope players like him will be out of a job in the near future and some day the league will mandate repeat offenders cheap shot apoffenders like himself are banned from ever playing agian.

Pollard should be considered the expert in the arena of personal fouls resulting in injury to opposing players.
Does anyone have a list of injuries he has caused?

Sorry but right now I´m too concerned about whether or not my country will be in existence in 30 years to care about the NFL.

I think he´s right - we will see a player die on the field. If bigger and faster is the inevitable future of the athlete, then the laws of physics will insure the outcome. For those fans that can recall what football was like 50 - 40 years ago, the style of tackling has changed dramatically. It´s no longer a tackle, but is rather more similar to an artillery strike to the body of the ball carrier. You rarely see DB´s or LB´s wrapping up a ball carrier and bringing him to the ground, but instead see that DB or LB moving with increasing velocity to hit and stun the ball carrier in order to end the play. The professional game has lost its moral bearing.

The unintended consequence of our highly technological society. 20 years ago a 250lb lineman was a monster. He was also slow and pretty much set in place.

Today that same 250 lb lineman is considered small. And more importantly he is a turtle on a field full of jaguars. Better nutrition, training and genetics has produced humans that should be considered obese giants. But they run the forty in the low eights, packing 40 lbs of gear and barely breaking a sweat.

The technology of the protective gear has not kept up with the advances in the pure size and speed of the players. When an old timer says todays players are "pansies" and how he played with a little leather helmet he is forgetting the players he was up against weighed less than some of these linemans breakfast.

Something will have to change or someone will eventually get killed. You cannot break the laws of physics. And 250 lbs of raw meat moving at 20 MPH hits like a small car. The body can only take so much.

More "Eurofication" of the USA.

Time to re-apply the Declaration of Independence.

Forget the weight limits, just get rid of HGH and steroids. Everybody else tests for it.

This is something that the liberal Democrats would love to get their teeth into, but the problem is that knocking out pro football would in one sense not be politically correct, since just about all those fast 350 lb football players are millionaire black men.

So if the liberal Democrats were to knock out pro football, as it is played today, by say limiting the weight of the players to 180 lbs slow runners, maybe even with a few women thrown in, you would have a lot less black pro football player millionaires, and that would certainly be seen as a liberal Democrat created problem in black communities all over the country.

The NFL fields a bunch of wussies!

Why don´t they go back to the shirt/pants, no pads, no helment play? Make it hurt to hurt others...that will solve the game´s issues. No one is going to spear with their head...except the first time where they break their necks.

Royt! But it will be the Paintball League. And women will make up half of the athletes.
Equality is the goal.

The way to prevent abortionists like convicted murderer Kermit Gosnell from occurring again is to build more Planned Parenthood clinics, Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) said at a House Judiciary Subcommittee hearing on Thursday about legislation that would prevent abortion after 20 weeks nationwide. “I would urge my colleagues to think about the extent to which he, Dr. Gosnell, represented the poor quality of health care services available in poorer communities,” Nadler said at the Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice hearing. “We should be working to make sure that high quality

House Speaker John A. Boehner on Thursday flatly ruled out chances of the House passing the Senate’s immigration bill, saying his chamber will debate its own bill instead. The Ohio Republican and his top lieutenants in the party issued a joint statement that seemed designed to tamp down some of the momentum behind the Senate bill, which emerged from a committee on a bipartisan 13-5 vote this week, and to stake out a House GOP position. “While we applaud the progress made by our Senate colleagues, there are numerous ways in which

During friendly questioning from Rep. Hank “I fear that Guam will capsize!” Johnson in Congress last week, Attorney General Eric Holder offered the following statement. In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material. This is not something I’ve ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be wise policy. He made that statement before the facts about the sweep on Fox News’ James Rosen were known. Since then, it’s come to light that Holder himself approved the subpoena that, among other things, named Rosen as a criminal co-conspirator.

As the saying goes, scratch a liberal and you’ll find a tyrant underneath. NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo is but the latest example. He shoved a very restrictive and ill-considered gun law through the state legislature in the dead of night. Among its flaws, the law criminalized police officers who tote firearms with magazines that hold more than seven rounds. Sheriffs around the state have objected to the law. Cuomo summoned them to the state capitol under what appears to be a false pretext, and used the meeting to threaten them into silence. Cuomo invited

The National Council of La Raza (translation: The Race) has partnered with the Office of Personnel Management to encourage Hispanic activists and members to burrow into the federal government. A workshop sponsored by La Raza/The Race will take place in New Orleans on July 23, 2013. Senior Executive Service (SES) employees are federal government employees in special executive management positions, often with salaries approaching $200,000 per year (and well past that with benefits). What a fantastic talent liberals possess, the ability to talk out of both sides of their mouths. One side utters platitudes about campaign finance reform and the nefarious influence of money in politics, while the other whispers in the ears of oligarchs and plutocrats. One side slanders Republicans as the tools of corporate interests, while the other solicits donations from some of the largest corporations in the world. The next journalist to examine influence peddling on K Street need only walk two blocks south, to H Street.

President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden met with three illegal immigrants who have been granted deferred action legal status in the Oval Office Tuesday. Meanwhile, Obama still refuses to meet with any border security enforcement officers about any aspect of immigration reform. “From Justino Mora, Angie Kim and Mehdi Mahraoui, to Diana Colin and Kevin Lee,” a White House blog entry reads, “all of the stories they shared were full of hope and optimism that one day their family members and their broader communities could realize the dream of becoming citizens of a country that

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose
