Bipartisan group of 8 senators
reaches deal on immigration changes

Fox News & Associated Press, by Mike Emanuel

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 1/28/2013 9:06:06 AM

A bipartisan group of eight senators plans to announce they have agreed on a set of principles for comprehensive immigration reform. The deal, which will be announced at a news conference Monday afternoon, covers border security, guest workers and employer verification, as well as a path to citizenship for the 11 million illegal immigrants already in this country. The eight senators expected to endorse the new principles are Democrats Charles Schumer of New York, Dick Durbin of Illinois, Robert Menendez of New Jersey and Michael Bennet of Colorado; and Republicans John McCain

Comments:
With Senators Durbin, Schumer, McCain and Graham involved you can guarantee we get hosed in the deal. When they reach a bipartisan deal you know it will favor Democrats. All you get is a guarantee of more Democrat voters.

Because Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin really want what´s best for Republicans. If this was going to gain Hispanic votes for the GOP, Schumer and Durbin would be against it.

Couldn´t agree more with the original poster´s comments. If it has Schumer, Durbin, and the pedophile Menendez involved, we the people are screwed. Lots more dem voters on the dole is all this will amount to.

I can´t get any financial aid for my daughter´s college but you can bet all the legalized illegals will get plenty of free college money, straight from all of our pockets.

High fences and wide gates first, not maybe later.

Border security, my foot. The ruling class has no interest in closing the border. This is amnesty. They call it a path to citizenship, but every one knows that´s just code for open borders and the end of US sovereignty. American citizens have been sold out by elitists. We are doomed. Bye bye USA.

With that group of senators making a decision what could possibly go wrong? Sac/Off

FTA -- - - - - - - -

--Reforming the legal immigration system, including awarding green cards to immigrants who obtain advanced degrees in science, math, technology or engineering from an American university.

Wait,wait,wait....this would require you to be illegal while at the school or you´d already have a green card. The first phrase is a dodge and a cover of the true intent.

We actually "took care" of this during Reagan (Simpson Mazzoli). But, of course, the RAT and ruling class conveniently forgot to CLOSE the border to illegal immigration.

While Marco Rubio´s influence may be helpful, my guess is that this "deal" will add several million new Democrat voters, more folks on the dole (now legally), and in another couple decades, we´ll have another 10-15 million "illegals" here and the wheel of fortune will spin again.

My deal would be implement effective border security first, monitor results for the next five years, and then offer some sort of legal immigrant status to otherwise-law-abiding former illegals at that time.

Hey guys, when did everything get decided behind closed doors between little groups of like-minded and like-funded self-appointed negotiators. I don´t know what this form of government is called, but it is not what was intended in the Constitution.

Just another BEND OVER AND GRAB YOUR ANKLES kind of day. #10 and 11 - they see their ´leader´ (Tammy Faye Boehner) go behind closed doors to deal with the Skeet Shooter (he does it ALL the time) so why shouldn´t they follow suit. Every day is a trial to get through.

I of little faith in politicians now predict that this will turn out like all the other agreements: No border security, de facto amnesty and the resumption of a new flood of immigrants when the economy improves.

If we had not aborted 55 million prospective tax payers and workers we would not need any immigrants in a guest worker program.

As stated earlier, when amnesty kicks in, the ruling class will give us the feigned incredulous look when it is disclosed that the actual number of illegals who "came out of the shadows" is closer to 30 million. Bye bye USA.

A couple of thoughts...

1) screw a fence...it´s ineffective, expensive and very thwartable - any immigration reform measure should begin with land mining the border

2) I wonder how many of the One´s pinky-wringed union thugs are going to be displaced by these new "citizens" - dems are you listening?

3) There needs to be a provision of enforcing this...particularly in "sanctuary cities" including prosecution of local officials who do not enforce the laws.

4) Seperate drivers licenses that identify them as non- itizens to prevent voter fraud

5)any infraction results in immediate deportation and inability to EVER become a citizen or enter the country again

FTA: as well as a path to citizenship for the 11 million illegal immigrants already in this country.

Well, I can save these people a lot of time, ink, and paper.

You see, there´s already a "path to citizenship" for the illegal aliens already here [and breaking our laws]. Here are the steps:

a. Leave. Go home. Adios. See ya.
b. Apply for a visa and/or citizenship through the existing systems. I know there are ways because foreign nationals become naturalized Americans all the time.
c. Pass the test.

With smarmy, slimey Schumer, Pedophile Menendez, McPain, and Miss Lindsey, what possible go wrong with this? With McCain, does anybody remember McCain/Feingold? Totally wrong, completely wrong! What´s is the matter with us? Why do we continually put up with these imbeciles?

This only further proves that we the people are being screwed royal by the surrender monkeys of both political parties. John McCain makes me want to puke! While I would never vote for a Democrat/Progressive/Communist, or what ever they call themselves today, it is getting harder to vote for these so called Republicans. The border should be sealed off and illegal border jumpers should be considered fair game. Just my humble opinion, you understand.

Reply 22 - Posted by: Lt.Mom, 1/28/2013 12:50:15 PM     (No. 9144348)

Everyone is complaining about McCain but he has never veered from his intent to change our immigration policy to accommodate all and sundry who come into our country illegally. McCain is a has been that can still cause trouble, but obviously it didn´t keep him from being elected, since he knows how to play the word game. It´s the name Rubio in this gang of 8 that surprises me. He is young and has potentially many years of a political life ahead of him. That he chooses this issue to make or break his career does seem odd. Or maybe he doesn´t think this action will have any future negative consequence for him.

J. Russell George, the inspector general who uncovered the IRS scandal, appears to have at one time dated Michelle Obama, well before she was married to Barack Obama. "All the attention was new, but George has operated in these halls of power his entire career. He worked for Dole, and then in President George H.W. Bush’s White House. In between, he attended Harvard Law School, graduating in 1988 alongside a young Michelle Obama (then Michelle Robinson)," reports National Journal. They weren’t in the same section – the academic groupings that Harvard uses to divide its students –

President Obama isn´t the only one whose fortunes are on the line in the face of a trio of explosive political scandals that are consuming Washington. The Justice Department´s monitoring of reporters, the Internal Revenue Service´s targeting of conservative groups and the White House´s handling of the Sept. 11 Benghazi, Libya, terrorist attack could also haunt Obama´s fellow Democrats, many of whom are already facing headwinds in next year´s midterm elections. With Republicans -- and much of the public -- convinced the controversies will linger into 2014, some Democrats a year and a half ahead

After the IRS revealed it had wrongly targeted hundreds of conservative and Tea Party groups, the agency claimed that the misconduct was limited to "low-level employees" in its Cincinnati office. Yesterday, the attorney for Lois Lerner, the head of the IRS’s tax-exempt organizations division, told the House Oversight Committee she would invoke her Fifth Amendment rights, making that explanation much less credible. Now the local Cincinnati Fox affiliate, FOX19, has done some digging and uncovered information suggesting that top officials at the IRS weren´t too far removed from the six low-level employees identified as making unjustified inquiries.

Tell us how you really feel, Joe Scarborough. The Morning Joe co-host devoted a segment on Wednesday to the Justice Department going after leaks — particularly the recently reported case involving Fox News. Scarborough railed against the Obama administration’s approach, charging that the actions were more damning because they’re aimed at “the opposition.” Scarborough questioned how this case is any different from the Pentagon papers, or the Cold War, etc. What makes President Obama think he’s any different? As Cokie Roberts responded to that thought, Scarborough couldn’t help but come back to a point

What did the White House know about the IRS targeting conservative groups and when did it know it? Crucial evidence needed to develop an accurate answer to that question would include the records of any communications that went back and forth between the IRS and the White House on the topic. In a May 14 letter signed by Chairman Dave Camp and Ranking Member Sander Levin, the House Ways and Means Committee demanded precisely those records from the IRS. In the same letter, the committee also demanded the records of any communications between IRS and the Treasury

The press-punishing, speech-chilling, and unabashedly overreaching actions by the Obama administration against the Associated Press and Fox News Channel’s James Rosen lay bare the essential dynamic between any president and a press that is always more prone to being lapdogs than watchdogs: The president feeds or punishes them as he sees fit, while chanting a bogus rosary about “national security.” In the case of the AP, the Obama administration secretly subpoenaed phone-call logs and other information from an office in which over 100 journalists worked. Officials were on the hunt for the sources that cooperated

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.
