| For as long as women have been excluded from combat, they’ve also been exempt from having to register for the Selective Service System, the database kept just in case all hell breaks loose and the U.S. must reintroduce the draft. But now that women are being admitted into combat units, the justification for making only young men register is on shaky ground. “It would seem a little strange to have nearly every job in the military open to women and not also require them to register for Selective Service,” said David McKean, legal director at the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network.

Don´t be ridiculous. Our new world is being tailored for all the little divas (women, racial or multi-alphabetic-that-I-no-longer- know-what-it-stands-for)to accommodate their fantasies. It is NOT being tailored for our country to thrive or be adequately protected.

The answer of course should be "yes"; however, as it is with everything in the equality era, my guess is that women will get special treatment here.
The bigger issue for me is whether the elite units (SEALs, Green Berets, etc.) will have to water down their physical fitness requirements to allow women to pass. Once we cross that line, look for our elite forces to be comprised of some less than capable people (think Gomer Pyle).

I thk we first ought to find out how many women actually want to join combat units and why. Maybe it´s chauvinistic, but I kind of think very few women want to be infantry soldiers.

If we have a draft that includes women, does that mean that Obama´s daughters will have to sign up? The Queen´s grandsons both have signed up and gone into harm´s way. Bet he will figure a way out for them.

This Registration Step should have been done a long time ago. Part of the Citizenship privilege carries the responsibility to follow the law; that being that at age eighteen, males must register for the Draft. Now that women bear the same responsibility. They should have to register as well.

Women were instrumental in both elections putting Obama in power; now cut your hair and strap on your combat boots girls.
If you don´t register then you should go to prison like in the Viet Nam era.
Now for the unintended consequences: The new level of Fragging, Islamist will really enjoy the prisoner of war thing, a whole troop of baby daddy´s, whose´s gonna carry the make up and feminine hygiene equipment, at least one week a month the enemy, and comrades, will get hell.

Okay, let´s just decide which country we want to surrender to, offer ourselves up; natural resources, debt and all, and get it over with - the end of the Republic once known as the USA.
A quick death is better than a slow, agonizing bleed out and this is exactly what this women in combat status change is.

The Left is willing to pass laws both for and against everything.
The idea is to become able to sell or give or withhold permission for all human activity.
Cat-bird seat.
Toll collector.
The issue doesn´t matter.
What does matter is that we have lots of laws and lots of government and lots of highly profitable corruption.
Only the individualist will suffer and we all hate him anyway.

1. Yes.
2. No more choice of assignments than men.
3. No changes in training requirements, including physical requirements (i.e. "gender norming").

Ever since he announced he was stepping down as Tonight Show host Jay Leno has seemingly been harder on Barack Obama. Well on Monday´s Tonight Show with Jay Leno that trend continued as Leno featured a clip of schoolchildren peppering the President with the tough questions that the press should be hammering him with on a daily basis. Watch and laugh. (Video after the jump)-JAY LENO: Actually President Obama made a surprise visit to a school in Baltimore on Friday. And these kids, you know these little kids are so much more sophisticated nowadays.

These are historic and troubling times. The unprecedented and brazen efforts by high-ranking elements within the Obama administration to silence whistleblowers and intimidate any reporters that would speak with them have starkly framed the choice the political press now faces. The administration has thrown the gauntlet down before the media with their display of abject disregard for the watchdog Fourth Estate. To the White House’s chagrin, the media will respond. In a two-fold assault on the freedom of the press, President Barack Obama’s Department of Justice has been implicated in efforts designed to intimidate both the press and

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department says it hasn´t prosecuted journalists for obtaining or publishing classified information and has no plans to. But open government and journalism advocates say the aggressive investigations of classified leaks by government officials under the Obama administration´s watch are having a chilling effect on news organizations´ ability to play a watchdog role. The renewed criticism of the Obama administration comes after new revelations that federal authorities secretly obtained the e-mails and tracked the movements of Fox News reporter James Rosen

The Senate Judiciary Committee’s passage of a sweeping immigration bill was expected. But the explosion of chants of “Yes we can! Yes we can!” and “Leahy! Leahy!” came as a surprise. The “Gang of Eight” bill passed by a wide 13-5 margin early Tuesday evening. Amid the cheering, Democratic committee chairman Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont could be seen motioning spectators to come up and participate in the celebration. The “Yes we can” chant was made popular by then-Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama in his 2008 presidential run.

The White House’s explanation of what it knew about the investigation into the IRS’s scrutiny of conservative political groups and how it planned for the eventual release of that information shifted once again Tuesday. Just a day after telling reporters that chief of staff Denis McDonough and other senior White House staff learned of the situation nearly a month ago, press secretary Jay Carney revealed Tuesday that White House officials had consulted with the Treasury Department on how to make the findings public.(Snip) Carney said he hadn’t revealed more information about which officials

Douglas Shulman, the former commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, said today he was “dismayed and saddened” that his agency had improperly targeting conservative groups, but declined to offer a direct apology and dismissed suggestions that he mislead Congress. The testimony from Shulman, who was making his first public appearance since the IRS controversy broke into the open two weeks ago, did not satisfy members of the Senate Finance Committee. He faced more than three hours of stern questioning from Democrats and Republicans, but said “I don’t believe I was aware” when asked

For a "failed scandal," Fast and Furious sure brought out the heavy hitters at the Department of Justice to deal with a whistleblower. The department´s inspector general has released a report accusing one US attorney, Dennis Burke, of leaking a document that smeared John Dodson, a key witness in the Fast and Furious scandal, and accusing other officials in the department of coming up with a strategy to discredit him. Breitbart: The DOJ IG said it found "Burke´s conduct in disclosing the Dodson memorandum to be inappropriate for a Department employee and wholly unbefitting a U.S. Attorney."

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming. Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters. “So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care? Why do you, Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, care
