I don´t believe anything I read on Politico. The purpose of this site is the same as that of pollsters, to mislead and manipulate, influence if you will, not to inform.

Dependent on "stricter border enforcement measures." That´s not good enough. My cynicism is reeling out of control. This smells of the deals the GOP makes on taxes and spending where the GOP caves on tax increases in exchange for a promise from democrats for spending cuts later which never happen. Close the border first. Then we´ll talk.
Prediction: if amnesty is slammed down our throats, the ruling class will give us the feigned incredulous look when the number of illegals who come "out of the shadows" is more like 30 miillion.

Each and every single instance of granting amnesty--allowing a green card, or worse, citizenship--to anyone who refused to follow the rules is a slap in the face of each and every one of us--and our ancestors--who followed the rules, met the requirements, paid the fees, and waited our turn in our home country.
To see these scofflaws--and immigration laws are not the only laws they flout with impunity--who steal identities and Social Security numbers, who drive without insurance (killing and maiming countless citizens) and a myriad of property and physical crimes--be granted preference over well qualified candidates is proof that we are no longer any semblance of a "nation of laws" to be proud of.
We have a plethora of "immigration laws" that should be enforced or changed before any new laws come down the pike.
Why pass any laws knowing they won´t be enforced?? Why not try complete enforcement, with many deportations, before "comprehensive" rewriting to reward the lawbreakers?

THE BATHROOM IS LARGE, immaculate and low-lit, finished in rich wood, floor-to-ceiling mirrors and brushed metal. Wearing the thick bathrobe provided by an attendant, I walk from the shower to the wash basin. The heat radiates from the floor through my slippers. I have my own shaving gear with me but still browse through boxes and trays for accoutrements I might prefer. This is one of the nicest lavatories I´ve ever been in. It happens now and then. You hear a story so sad, so beautiful, so filled with loss and pain and grief and love, that it makes you cry. Really cry. Two years ago, I was making a grocery run for my family on Memorial Day when a story came on the local NPR station in Oxford, Miss. It was about a father whose son had been killed in action in northwest Afghanistan. The father was Paul Monti; his son was Sergeant Jared Monti. President Obama’s speech at the National Defense University calling for an end to the war on terror forces the question of who gets to declare peace. The Left wing in our political debate has been agitating for some time to repeal the authorization to use military force that the Congress passed after 9/11. The President boarded the bandwagon yesterday. He vowed he would sign no laws designed to expand the mandate and declared outright that he looks forward “to engaging Congress and the American people in efforts to refine, and ultimately repeal” the congressional mandate to use force.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago.
