| SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — As Illinois becomes the fourth and most populous state to issue driver´s licenses to illegal immigrants, there are still nagging concerns that the measure doesn´t have enough safeguards to avoid the identity fraud and other pitfalls faced by the three other states with similar laws. Backers of the proposal, who tout it as a public-safety measure, argue that required facial recognition technology is reliable enough to prevent fraud, but opponents point to hundreds of fraudulent cases in New Mexico, Washington and Utah after those states began giving illegal immigrants permission to drive. Illinois will not require

Laws=public safety has to be the biggest liberal conceit.
It´s also a monstrous lie.
In this case, it´s two lies in one since illegals with licenses is the quick n dirty way of wrecking Voter ID efforts.

5 seconds for some leftist political hack (read, lawyer) to come up with the ends...
...2000 pages to describe the very expensive (read, taxpayer money) means.
Opposite effect effectively inacted. Again.

Illinois is continuing to demonstrate that it is completely irresponsible and destructive to the rights and privileges of it citizens. It is the brokest state in the Union. It is home to the murder capital of the United States year-to-date. Chicago dictates to the good people of rural Illinois that they will produce the wealth that the feral citizens of Chitown will live off of.

They can go this route, because everything is going so well in their state. Business is good, unemployment is zero, grades are the highest in the nation, nobody on food stamps or welfare, the crime rate is at an all time low... OOPS!
Maybe, they think they can go this route because things are so screwed up that nothing could be worse.

I bet two things happen at those diver tests. Ten guys will be taking their test the same day from their "cousin´s" vehicle and the rest will be driving rentals. So much for insurance proof.

One of the selling points they use to push this is the drivers will have to start paying car insurance. Riiiiiiiiiiight. They probably get a free case of alcohol when they pass the driver´s test.

The State of Illinois continues to circle the bowl.
How can they really identify people when there is so much fake identity available on the cheap?

Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia can finally agree on something. "He called me a whiner. He´s probably right," Garcia told Golf.com on Monday at the start of the week of the BMW PGA Championship in England. "But that´s also probably the first thing he´s told you guys that´s true in 15 years. I know what he´s like. You guys are finding out." On the same day that Tiger Woods uttered one word -- "No" -- to quickly dismiss the possibility of making amends over the pair´s verbal sparring during the Players Championship, the Spaniard kept swinging at

A federal court in San Francisco Tuesday struck down Arizona´s ban on abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the law violates a string of U.S. Supreme Court rulings starting with Roe v. Wade that guarantees a woman´s right to an abortion before a fetus is able to survive outside the womb. That´s generally considered to be about 24 weeks. Normal pregnancies run about 40 weeks. Several states have enacted similar bans starting at 20 weeks. But the 9th Circuit´s ruling is binding only in the nine Western states

CBS News has a piece quietly mocking a Benghazi whistleblower for writing poetry in a classic example of how the MSM marginalizes opponents of Barack Obama: Raymond Maxwell, who was one of Hillary Clinton’s State Department officials who was disciplined for security lapses vis-à-vis Benghazi, has been writing poetry since he was put on leave. Significantly, some of the poetry deals with Maxwell’s frustration at being made a scapegoat: The web of lies they weave / gets tighter and tighter / in its deceit / until it bottoms out - / at a very low frequency - / and implodes...

President Obama and his allies in the House and Senate may have failed in their attempt to channel shock and anger over Newtown into passing strict new gun control legislation, but it wasn´t for lack of trying. The quick pivot from tragedy to legislation is just another indication that one party has a knack for legislating while the other spends most of its time saying no, or offering watered down versions of its opponents´ legislation. That seeming inability to quickly connect moments of national outrage with meaningful legislation on the part of Republicans will be on display

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew was told about a government watchdog´s investigation of the Internal Revenue Service in mid-March but did not learn the full extent of its findings until they were released earlier this month. Lew told the Senate Banking Committee on Tuesday that he first learned about the possible problems during a "getting to know you" meeting with the Treasury´s inspector general for tax administration, J. Russell George, on March 15. At that meeting, George ran down a number of items for Lew, including the potential for "troubling findings" in regards to the agency´s handling of tax-exempt applications

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: You are the mantle of Frederick Douglass and Booker T. The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming. Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters. “So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care? Why do you, Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, care

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”
