Keep your guns,
keep your freedom

Morning Journal [Lorain, OH], by Tom Skoch

Original Article

It´s not about guns; it’s about keeping control of your life. The gun control “war” launched against American citizens and the Constitution this past week by the elites in Washington, D.C., is most certainly not about keeping little Bobby and Mary Jane safe in school. (Snip) This past week, with great showmanship, Obama squeezed the kids like triggers; he fired them like little emotional bullets into America’s heart to disrupt your ability to think clearly about what is happening to our country.

Comments:
Outstanding column. Tom Skoch stands tall with the Founding Fathers. We can only hope that members of Congress will do the same—most especially Republicans.

The federal government has become THE great enemy of our freedom -- not the Taliban, not Russia, not China. The federal government has become the devil.

Do not register. Do not submit to confiscation. No matter what -- resist.

In many states the camel´s nose is already too far under the tent. It needs stomped on a few times to make it back out.

I expect that all guns will be taken by authorities to check if they are "in compliance with the law." They might be returned in due time.

Obama, being in the ever adoring DC media bubble, thinks he has the whole country behind him except for a handful of rednecks who could easily be rounded up if necessary. The truth is there´s tons of blue collar dems who believe in the 2nd amendment also and they´ll stop new stupid laws from being passed.
Then again,Obama´s always looking for an excuse to unleash his imperial presidency.Even though,he´d face a slew of court challenges. the SC has upheld gun rights many many times and would do so again.

Get Ready for the
Internet Robber Barons
Wall Street Journal, by Karl Borden    Original Article

Do you remember the original robber barons? No, they were not the great American industrialists/philanthropists of the late 19th century—men who were unfairly tagged with the moniker. I mean the originals: the German barons of the 13th century who controlled the Rhine River, which was the primary channel of commerce and communications for central Europe. Their castles overlooked the river, and they exacted tribute from every passing ship. The barons ignored customary "just" tolls, charged whatever the commerce would bear, exacted payment "in kind" from cargoes, and exercised power by controlling strategic territory.

Party of the rich: In Congress,

WASHINGTON — Republicans are the party of the rich, right? It´s a label that has stuck for decades, and you´re hearing it again as Democrats complain about GOP opposition to raising the minimum wage and extending unemployment benefits. But in Congress, the wealthiest among us are more likely to be represented by a Democrat than a Republican. Of the 10 richest House districts, only two have Republican congressmen. Democrats claim the top six, sprinkled along the East and West coasts. Most are in overwhelmingly Democratic states like New York and California.

What´s going on at Air Force Academy?

The Restore Military Religious Freedom coalition, a group of two dozen like-minded religious liberty organizations, announced Thursday that they are ready to offer assistance to any Air Force Academy cadet who faces repercussions for writing Bible verses on their hallway whiteboards. The Air Force Academy admitted Wednesday that a cadet leader had to remove a Bible verse he had displayed outside his dorm room because it offended non-Christians and could “cause subordinates to doubt the leader’s religious impartiality.” The controversy started when a cadet leader posted a passage of scripture on his whiteboard with a quote from the

CLEVELAND,Ohio-- Secretary of State Jon Husted´s re-election mantra seems to be "If at first you don´t succeed in disenfranchising voters, try and try again. In 2012 Husted attempted to cut early voting access only to be sued by the Obama campaign and lose in court. He´s now back again making another attempt with the help of the state legislature and Governor Kasich. (Snip) This time around, Jim Crow bird feeder Husted is hiding behind saying he´s simply adopting a bipartisan proposal by the Ohio Association of Election officials. Ohio bill on religion,
gay rights is withdrawn

COLUMBUS, Ohio - State lawmakers in Ohio withdrew legislation Wednesday that mirrors an Arizona bill that’s come under fire for protecting those who assert their religious beliefs in refusing service to gays. Republican state Rep. Tim Derickson and Democratic state Rep. Bill Patmon issued a joint statement citing concern over the bill’s unintended consequences. “The intent of (our bill) was to ensure Ohioans’ religious freedom by protecting their ability to freely worship and preventing any laws from burdening the free exercise of religion,” their statement said. “However, with the controversy that is occurring in Arizona,

Progressives takes lessons
from ‘Downton Abbey’
Washington Post, by George F. Will    Original Article
Posted By: Harlowe- 2/13/2014 10:45:11 AM     Post Reply
Many “Downton Abbey” watchers are nostalgia gluttons who grieved when Lord Grantham lost his fortune in Canadian railroad shares. There are, however, a discerning few whose admirable American sensibilities caused them to rejoice at Grantham’s loss: “Now perhaps this amiable but dilettantish toff will get off his duff and get a job.” This drama’s verisimilitude extends to emphasizing that his lordship had a fortune to squander only because he married an American heiress. By battening on what they disdained, this republic’s commercial culture, many British aristocrats could live beyond their inherited means — actual work being, of course, unthinkable.

Ohio wind turbine project
stopped near Lake Erie

TOLEDO, Ohio - A group of birding enthusiasts hopes a decision to halt plans for a wind turbine at an Ohio National Guard base will send a message to developers proposing other wind power projects along Lake Erie. Federal officials sent notice this past week that they are pulling back from building the proposed wind turbine just weeks after two organizations threatened to take legal action. The American Bird Conservancy and the Black Swamp Bird Observatory argued that the wind turbine would endanger migrating birds and bald eagles while also violating several federal laws designed to protect those birds.

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson says the White House wanted him to apologize for “offending” President Obama after he famously delivered a conservative message at the National Prayer Breakfast last year. Carson, the former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, recalls the events surrounding his 2013 speech in his new book, One Nation: What We Can All Do To Save America’s Future. The Daily Caller obtained an advance copy of the book, which is set for release May 20. “He did not appear to be hostile or angry,” Carson writes of Obama, “but within a matter of minutes after the conclusion of

Megyn Kelly’s "Kelly File" is a great news show. She’s incisive, informed and customarily handles the toughest guest with aplomb. But her lengthy interview of Facebook C.O.O. Sheryl Sandberg about her second book in the Lean In series Lean In: For Graduates was a head shaker. Amazing that she of all people allowed Sandberg to restring the same old, same old, shamed, and shopworn feminist myths about women and girls and then jangle it in front of her viewing audience like something new out of the box. Indeed Kelly all but genuflected in front of this woman. Kept her on thru

On Saturday, I wrote about the standoff at Bundy Ranch. That post drew a remarkable amount of traffic, even though, as I wrote then, I had not quite decided what to make of the story. Since then, I have continued to study the facts and have drawn some conclusions. Here they are. First, it must be admitted that legally, Bundy doesn’t have a leg to stand on. The Bureau of Land Management has been charging him grazing fees since the early 1990s, which he has refused to pay. Further, BLM has issued orders limiting the area on which Bundy’s cows can

Like him or hate him, there is no disputing that Rush Limbaugh’s very special brand of mixing right-wing politics with his flare for entertainment has produced one of the most successful radio programs in the medium’s long history. Whatever the burning political question of the day, millions of Americans have relished the opportunity to tune into Rush’s program, knowing that he would quickly take that hot potato, throw a few gallons of verbal kerosene into the mix and elevate the matter into a five alarm fire with a just a few well-chosen words spoken in the style only Rush Limbaugh could

Less than a minute into his speech at the Boston marathon bombing memorial on Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden went tragically off script and told the crowd of Boston bombing survivors that "it was worth it." After expressing how impressed he was with the tribute, he said somberly, "let me say to those ´quote survivors,´ my God, you have survived and you have soared. It was worth it. I mean this sincerely - just to hear each of you speak. You´re truly, truly inspiring." The audience sat in stunned silence until Biden declared, "I´ve never heard anything so beautiful than

Casual marijuana use may come with some not-so-casual side effects. For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. Dr. Hans Breiter, co-senior study author, said he was inspired to look at the effects of casual

Look, everyone loves Sean Connery, particularly Sean Connery. That’s why he plays Sean Connery in every movie he’s in. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. The guy even won an Oscar for playing an Irish cop with a Scottish accent. Talk about sexist double standards: Meryl Streep has to master foreign dialects to get her golden statuettes. Connery just has to show up on time. In economics you devalue a currency by printing too much of it. In film you
