Fox News To Re-Air ´Boomtown´
Special Tonight At 9PM ET

Breitbart´s Big Government, by Wynton Hall

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 1/27/2013 4:36:18 PM

Fox News will re-air the Sean Hannity one-hour “Boomtown” special on Washington, D.C.’s wealth explosion tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET and 9:00 p.m. PST. The special, which has sparked considerable buzz on Twitter and triggered a flood of emails, shines a spotlight on how lobbyists, special interests, and politicians leverage their crony connections to extract wealth from taxpayers in order to fund their lavish lifestyles. The program was co-hosted by Government Accountability Institute (GAI) President and Co-Founder Peter Schweizer and Breitbart News Executive Chairman and GAI Co-Founder Stephen K. Bannon.

Comments:
Just in case you aren´t enraged enough about what is going on in Washington watch this. It easily explains why we can´t expect anything from either party. It´s terribly depressing. Washington is so far removed from what the Founding Fathers envisioned I don´t know how we ever get it back on track.

Me thinks Eisenhower today would not have limited his words to "military - industrial - complex." Times change.

Thanks for posting this O.P. The series is an eye opener for those who cannot understand why the Republican Establishment continues to lose the spending and budget debate.

They are throwing the game.

This is excellent. And very troubling.

And it explains how and why almost everyone who arrives in DC is so quickly and easily compromised and corrupted.

Power and money are so seductive. Neither was supposed to be concentrated in DC.

I would have liked to have heard suggestions as to how this labyrinthian nest of lucre can be cleaned out.

For all its irritations, e.g Whoraldo, Shemp Smith, Buckle, where would we be w/o FNC?
A sharp pebble in Obama´s elite loafers.

In the ´50´s, when Detroit made the most beautiful, affordable cars in the world, it also had the highest per capita income in the U.S. Its streets were bustling and the first freeway "the X-Way" had been opened in it. Today it is corrupt, impoverished, unsanitary, violent, and in a shambles. This is a result of Democrat government. Chicago, for the same reason, is headed the same way.

Saw it. After searching for reasons to explain the pathetic performance of Republicans in the Hillary Hearings, I think Boomtown may come closest to the answer. Those inside-the-beltway are inextricably locked in a dance to put the product of work in fly-over country into their pockets one way or the other and are loath to whiz on each other in any meaningful way lest it splashes back from their partners on themselves. I have moved from incompetence to complicity as the reason. No group could be that incompetent, so what is left?

#9, not all those cars were beautiful, and Detroit had the advantage of being the auto capital of the only major nation not destroyed or crippled by WWII. IMO, Democratic leadership helped to bring down Detroit, but the UAW had a big hand in dragging down the car companies and therefore Detroit. And to be honest with ourselves, we must say that foreign competition and arrogant, horrible auto company mismanagement played a role as well.

Some of the country´s richest young people came together at the White House recently for a day-long conference about how exactly they plan to spend their inherited wealth. The FBI is probing past legal work done by Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis, according to a report her Republican opponent’s campaign calls a “bombshell.” The Dallas Morning News reported Friday that documents “related to Sen. Wendy Davis’ work as a lawyer for the North Texas Tollway Authority are part of an FBI inquiry of the agency.” The news outlet said it’s unclear how much this investigation revolves around Davis, the Democratic nominee for governor. “It’s not clear whether Davis’ work for the tollway authority is a focus of the FBI or only part of the material collected in connection

Researchers at Princeton and Northwestern universities have pored over 1,800 US policies and concluded that America is an oligarchy. Instead of looking out for the majority of the country’s citizens, the US government is ruled by the interests of the rich and the powerful, they found. No great surprises there, then. But the government is not the only American power whose motivations need to be rigourously examined. Some 2,400 miles away from Washington, in Silicon Valley, Google is aggressively gaining power with little to keep it in check. It has cosied up to governments around the world so effectively that its chairman,

Steve Lynch is a Democratic Rep. from Massachusetts who doesn’t hesitate to buck the party line from a centrist point of view, and to speak openly about problems in the party and with party positions. Lynch ran for Senate to fill John Kerry’s seat, but lost in the primary to now-Senator Ed Markey. Lynch recently was interviewed by The Boston Herald about upcoming Obamacare problems and how devastating they will be for Democrats. That runs contrary to cut current news cycle Democratic spin that (allegedly) meeting sign up goals means electoral problems related to Obamacare are over. U.S. Rep. Stephen Lynch, the

Then-Sens. Joe Biden and John Kerry were both opposed to Hillary Clinton’s 1993 health-care reform program, according to documents released by the Clinton presidential library. Clinton marked a handwritten “No” beside Biden’s name on Clinton’s list of Capitol Hill lawmakers that she needed to win over for her universal health care law, known as the “Clinton health plan” or “Hillarycare,” to pass. John Kerry, meanwhile, was marked with a “Probably not.” “Hillarycare” ended up dying in the Democratic-controlled Senate in 1994 without coming to a floor vote. As vice president, Biden has been a loyal supporter of the Obama administration’s

Wayne Crews of the Competitive Enterprise Institute and Alexis de Tocqueville, author of the classic Democracy in America, were born in different times and places. But the French aristocrat and American think tanker have the measure of the federal behemoth in the age of Obama. Writing in 1835, Tocqueville eloquently predicted how it would function, while Crews today supplies in his annual compilation of federal rules and regulations, “10,000 Commandments,” the hard numbers that describe the behemoth´s contemporary reach and costs. It is always worthwhile to revisit de Tocqueville’s description of what he called the

For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

That was quite a victory dance President Obama did Thursday while claiming Obamacare is “working” because eight million people have now supposedly signed up for the health care program. He even indulged in some less-than-subtle mockery of Republicans - and by extension the majority of Americans who have disapproved of Obamacare since before it became law. "The repeal debate is and should be over,” Obama said, taking a dig at Republicans who are “going through, you know, the stages of grief … anger and denial and all that stuff …” But a president who is viewed by most Americans as less

In a speech earlier this week, Lisa O. Monaco, President Barack Obama’s assistant for homeland security and counterterrorism, insisted that American parents must be vigilant because their “confrontational” children could be on the verge of becoming terrorists. Monaco’s full, prepared text is available here. She presented the speech, entitled “Countering Violent Extremism and the Power of Community,” at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government on April 15. Monaco began her remarks by eloquently describing the lives tragically lost last year during the Boston Marathon bombings. Interestingly, the Harvard grad failed to mention the religion or the motive of brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan

If the Rev. John DeBonville could preach a sermon to lift the souls of churchgoers across America, his message would be simple: Stop dressing so tacky for church. DeBonville has heard about the “come as you are” approach to dressing down for Sunday service, but he says the Sabbath is getting too sloppy. When he scans the pews of churches, DeBonville sees rows of people dressed in their Sunday worst. They saunter into church in baggy shorts, flip-flop sandals, tennis shoes and grubby T-shirts. Some even slide into the pews carrying coffee in plastic foam containers as if they’re going to Starbucks. “It’s like

"No, absolutely not," the November midterm election is not a referendum on President Obama and his policies, Democrat Party Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) told NBC´s "Meet the Press" on Sunday. "[T]hese elections, particularly the Senate elections, are referendums on the candidates running," she said. Asked about vulnerable Democrats who have criticized President Obama´s flawed healthcare law, Wasserman Schultz said they are running their own race. President Obama asserts that 8 million people have signed up for Obamacare, as though that were something to be proud of. In fact, Obamacare has always been a fiasco from a fiscal perspective–a black hole of subsidies and expanded Medicaid, with largely fictitious mechanisms in place to pay for it. As the number of subsidized participants grows, the disaster gets worse. Charles Blahous explains: Our national discussion…is missing the truly significant story here; what is unfolding before our eyes is a colossal fiscal disaster, poised to haunt legislators and taxpayers for decades to come. It is quite possible that the ACA is
