WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama is a big football fan with two daughters, but if he had a son, he says he´d "have to think long and hard" before letting him play because of the physical toll the game takes. "I think that those of us who love the sport are going to have to wrestle with the fact that it will probably change gradually to try to reduce some of the violence," Obama tells The New Republic. "In some cases, that may make it a little bit less exciting, but it will be a whole lot better
Comments: Next liberal target: football. No touching, No scorekeeping, no one can ever win.
Gosh darn it, aren´t we lucky to have such a caring Furher, oops I mean Dictator, oops I mean president who by golly wants to make sure that none of us will ever be unhappy or in danger thanks to his goverment control over every tiny aspect of our lives. I mean really we should all get down on our knees and offer up prayers of gratitute that we have such a great loving, caring leader!
Notice how our watchdog media, represented n this propaganda article by the AP, treats Dictator Obama´s totalitarian statement as if it was such a nice family man statement and makes it seem like the most natural thing in the world for this Dictator to meddle in everything.
What they should be writing is what damn business is it of this Dictator to stick his nose into a private enterprise, the NFL, to imply that his regime will be imposing rules on the game of football. The propaganda media must be destroyed if we hope to bring back our great nation from the brink of destruction.
By the way Obama doesn´t have a son because the eggs implanted in the First Wookie´s womb were female. Someone should tell him that in order to have a chance at a son he needs to perform the act of coitus with his wife which is something I am sure he avoids like the plague.
I wish he would knock it off, he doesn´t have a son and who cares what he would think. It´s always if I had this, if I had that with this guy. Well you don´t just shut up and let us have some peace the next four years, you don´t have to inject yourself into everyday life.
Since he doesn´t have sons, but does have daughters, he can now let the little darlings enlist and go to Iran or Iraq to fight in the front lines. Oh wait, instant General girls don´t do that.
Pro football players get paid fortunes to play a dangerous contact game, and it is a personal choice. Soldiers risk their lives and get paid hardly anything for risking their lives in combat. Special rules for football players, but send women into combat. Get real.
If Obama had a son, he would likely be the same un-athletic, limp-wristed, metrosexual as his father. He would be "Wedgie Boy" in the locker room, and couldn´t even be trusted to be an equipment manager. Likely, he´d steal all the equipment to give out to his friends. After all, it is unfair that the athletes "get all the free stuff."
On the other hand, if his son took after Moochelle, he would be the team´s star linebacker. Disliked by all because of his big mouth, but a formidable force.
President Obama’s job approval among American voters has dropped to negative territory with just 38 percent voicing their approval versus the 58 who says they disapprove, according to a national poll released Tuesday by the independent Quinnipiac University. That is one percent less than the 39% who said they approved of him in last month’s poll. The majority of the 2,692 registered voters the University in early December said that the president is not honest and trustworthy. When asked, “Do you approve or disapprove of the way Barack Obama is handling his job as President?,” respondents gave Obama lackluster ratings
There´s knowing what you have to do and then there´s actually doing it. And the results of a new survey suggest the health-care reform law may be falling short on both accounts among the uninsured—the group Obamacare is designed to help the most. The findings of the survey by the Transamerica Center for Health Studies suggest that Obamacare´s goal of providing affordable health insurance to millions of Americans faces widespread inertia. Although more of the survey´s respondents knew about components of the law compared with a prior survey over the summer, not many of those polled are enrolling for coverage
A mild snow dusted New York City this morning, transforming ordinarily grumpy commuters into grumpy commuters who were also cold and wet. And while frigid winter weather continues to batter most corners of the country, it´s still a distant cry from just-in temperature readings from Eastern Antarctica, which recently experienced the coldest day in recorded history. Just how cold is cold? According to new NASA satellite data, the region hit a bone-chilling -135.7 degrees Fahrenheit (-93.2 degrees Celsius) back in August 2010, shattering the previous world record set at the Russian research station in Vostok, Antarctica, on July 21, 1983
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. -- The victim of a vicious knockout attack in New Jersey is speaking out for the first time. He was cold-cocked, and hit not just with a fist, but with a glove with hard plastic knuckles. Two of the four attackers are still on the run. "All of a sudden, I was trying to watch my back and these two came around front and punches my face," the victim said. The 36-year-old restaurant worker does not want his name or face on television, and who could blame him? He still has headaches from a concussion and six
Sears stock plummeted Wednesday as news came out that Edward Lampert, its stubborn billionaire chairman and CEO, had to surrender majority control of the 120-year-old big box retailer when investors in Lampert’s hedge fund pulled money out. With no end in sight for Lampert’s quixotic turnaround efforts, it’s time to question whether there’s any way to save Sears as long as he remains in charge. (Snip) Lampert began at Sears with the ill-fated $12 billion merger with Kmart in 2005. Sales have declined for 27 straight quarters and the company’s stock is down over 70% from its high in 2007.
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has no system in place to prevent fraud when individuals apply for tax credits under Obamacare, according to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA). The IG said in an audit released Tuesday that the IRS has no plan to manage, monitor, or mitigate fraud risk when processing premium tax credits available under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). “The ACA Program has not yet completed a fraud mitigation strategy,” the audit found. “It is important for the IRS to thoroughly consider fraud threats and risks that could impact new ACA systems.” Politico reports: The
Around 100,000 Americans successfully signed up for health insurance in November through the troubled federal online marketplace, HealthCare.gov, a person familiar with the preliminary data confirmed to ABC News. The figure reflects a surge in enrollment as software and hardware fixes to the site were made over the course of the month. In October, only 26,000 people could successfully enroll in Obamacare plans, according to the Department of Health and Human Services. "We´ve been working 24/7 to make improvements, and more consumers are successfully shopping online and enrolling in a health plan each week," Health and Human Services Secretary
On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by
The Obama State Department has finally released a second round of photos revealing the harrowing devastation wrought by a terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. The new photographs depict rampant damage to the consulate. They show charred walls, smoldering fires, Arabic graffiti defacing exterior walls, and scattered debris throughout. The extent of the damage would lead any reasonably serious person to conclude that this was a cold, calculated attack, carefully coordinated to mark the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. Unfortunately for the American people, the Obama-Clinton-Rice cabal that led to the Benghazi cover-up was
A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned. Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
A “presidential selfie” featuring President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, and Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service began making the rounds this morning, but it’s the person not included in the frame who caught everyone’s attention: As anyone with two eyes and a Twitter account has noticed, Michelle Obama does not appear amused. Of course, though a picture says a thousand words, not all of those words are necessarily true. FLOTUS might not have even known the photo was taking place. Or she could disapprove of funeral selfies. Either way.
Just how much do many Hollywood liberals hate conservatives? In an interview with Playboy, Ben Affleck said, "When I watch a guy [on film] I know is a big Republican, part of me thinks, I probably wouldn’t like this person if I met him": PLAYBOY: You developed a political profile campaigning for presidential candidates Al Gore, John Kerry and Barack Obama. How did that come about? AFFLECK: I grew up in a house with a mother who was a teacher and a Freedom Rider—very left-wing Democrats living in a heterogeneous working-class neighborhood. I picked up a lot of those values there, and I
MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry opened her program over the weekend with a commentary about the Affordable Care Act’s colloquial moniker: “Obamacare.” She said that the word was originally created as a “derogatory term,” designed by white men as a way to delegitimize President Barack Obama and his achievement. However, she said that the term will soon be synonymous with all of Obama’s accomplishments and she urged her audience to use the term with pride. “I want to talk today about a controversial word. It’s a word that has been with us for years, and like it or not, it’s indelibly
Barack Obama has arrived in South Africa to lead the American delegation at a memorial service for former South African President Nelson Mandela in Johannesburg. But his party is reportedly stuck in traffic and he is said to have arrived late at the stadium for the ceremony. [Snip] But Mr Clinton, Mr Carter and his wife Rosalynn have all traveled separately to the event. According to reports, Mr Obama and his delegation are stuck in a lines of traffic caused by tens of thousands of people making their way to the event. Mr Obama is among the foreign leaders who
