Obama Continues to Violate His Own ‘Stimulus’
Law by Not Releasing Quarterly Reports

Weekly Standard, by JEFFREY H. ANDERSON

Have you heard much about President Obama’s $787,000,000,000 economic “stimulus” (now estimated to cost $831,000,000,000) lately? In its last report, published in 2011, the president’s own Council of Economic Advisors released an estimate showing that, for every $317,000 in “stimulus” spending that had by then gone out the door, only one job had been created or saved. Even in Washington, that’s not considered good bang for the buck.

I would say that nothing our present rogue Government does should surprise anyone; but apparently, I would be wrong to think that. Government = crooks and thieves at their worst.

Ignorance is not as much a shame as being unwilling to learn. IMHO,BHO who is always heralded as an Adjunct Professor of constitutional law, didn´t learn anything about obeying laws that are constitutionaly correct.

Imagine if President Reagan had done this. Impeachment proceeding would have began immediately.

You cannot steal what you already own. Zero owns this country now; all because, while he is a plurality-white man, he is one eighth black. Taupe teflon.

Just saying you´ll do something doesn´t make it a law. Not doing that same thing isn´t a criminal act. It´s a lie. Something we´ve come to expect from BHO. It´s in his South side Chicago DNA, like it´s a bodily function.

It looks as if every day someone needs to bring a lasuit against this POS. Just keep ´em coming because every day there is a new ´fresh he!!´.

They wasted an impeachment on Clinton....now we really need one. I mean who wouldn´t cheat on Hillary!

I would like to see a running total of Full-Time jobs killed by ObamaCare.

Well geez, if your big project had failed miserably and you didn´t really have to release reports on your failure, would you? s/

The real question at this point is why is no one in Congress standing up and demanding that the man simply do what he said he would do?

Reply 10 - Posted by: oh-heck, 1/27/2013 11:01:24 AM     (No. 9142221)

The truth is that "jobs created" was "hook" that justified a grant. Once the government proved that they wouldn´t even check to see if the zip code existed, no one bothered to make up false number. Obama named Joe Biden sheriff. If they are not going to submit a budget on time or in writing, or list the "job killing regulations" costing more than a billion for compliance, what makes you think they are going to keep track of fictional jobs?

Those who are not aware of the details of Obama´s stimulus have never Googled ´Larry Sinclair´.

Reply 12 - Posted by: Butch59, 1/27/2013 11:52:39 AM     (No. 9142322)

I think that most of us here at LCom know by now that the ´Stimulus´ was nothing more than a scam to funnel taxpayer money to Obozo´s friends and supporters. Truth to be known, there is no audit of any of that money. And somewhere I believe that I read something that states "a regular Statement and Account of the Receipts and Expenditures of all public Money shall be published from time to time". U.S. Constitution Article I Scetion 9.

Does anyone remember when this has EVER been done? I don´t.

The birthday party will be modest and understated, in keeping with the man. Sir Nicholas Winton is 104 tomorrow and naturally some of his children will be there to wish him well. Not only his blood offspring but those known as Winton’s Children – the ones he saved from near-certain death three-quarters of a century ago. Nicholas – Nicky – Winton hates to be thought of as a hero, hates being compared with Oskar Schindler or Raoul Wallenberg, but he nevertheless deserves to be mentioned in the same breath.

Speaking at Ohio State University earlier this month, Barack Obama urged students to pay no attention to those paranoid types who “incessantly warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity.” Oddly enough, in recent days the most compelling testimony for this view of government has come from the president himself, who insists with a straight face that he had no idea that the Internal Revenue Service had spent two years targeting his political enemies until he

Two Metro-North trains collided in Connecticut during the evening rush hour tonight, causing at least two dozen injuries and massive delays on the New Haven Line, authorities said. The accident happened about 6:10 p.m. just east of the Bridgeport-Fairfield line when a westbound train from New Haven derailed and collided with an eastbound train on a section of track near a viaduct that is under renovation. Photos on the Connecticut Post´s website showed people being taken on stretchers to waiting ambulances, and first responders from Fairfield, Bridgeport and nearby

The Clinton Scandal Playbook and Benghazi

The punditocracy is pulling out its collective hair, wanting to know why there have apparently been multiple layers of cover-ups in the evolving Benghazi story. An early scandal from the Clinton administration, the so-called “Travelgate” scandal, may be instructive. Recall that in the 1993 firings of employees at the White House Travel Office, a determination was made early on by the new president Bill Clinton and then-First Lady Hillary Clinton that the Travel Office workers, who served at the pleasure of the president,

The tragedy of Benghazi, where a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans were killed, seemed a cut-and-dried story in the days after a mob attacked the State Department’s mission in eastern Libya. From President Obama on down, the recap was simple: A crowd of demonstrators angry over an obscure YouTube video that denigrated Islam’s Prophet Muhammad spontaneously stormed the complex. The State Department’s top spokeswoman assured the public that security for fallen Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and his aide Sean Smith was “robust.”

RENO, Nev. — Soon after moving into Liberace’s gaudy Las Vegas mansion in 1977, Scott Thorson, then a teenage hunk in the foster care system, learned that the jewel-smitten showman could love just as extravagantly as he decorated. Touring the premises before their relationship began, Liberace pointed out some decorative highlights, which included 17 pianos, a casino, a quarry’s worth of marble and a canopied bed with an ermine spread. On the ceiling was a reproduction of the Sistine Chapel with Liberace’s face painted among the cherubs.

Obama administration officials who were in key positions on Sept. 11, 2012, acknowledge that a range of mistakes were made the night of the attacks on the U.S. missions in Benghazi, and in messaging to Congress and the public in the aftermath. The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up.

Watching President Obama trying to dodge raindrops and responsibility yesterday reminded me of the moment when Dorothy pulls back the curtain and discovers that the Wizard of Oz is “just a man.” Stripped of his spell of mystery and power, the wizard is worse than mortal. He’s a fake. So it was with Obama in the Rose Garden. His performance was tired and trite, ordinary to the point of dull. His veneer of passion was so transparent that you could see him trying to summon his old-time magic by pushing the buttons

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

The State Department, under Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, created an arrangement for her longtime aide and confidante Huma Abedin to work for private clients as a consultant while serving as a top adviser in the department. Ms. Abedin did not disclose the arrangement — or how much income she earned — on her financial report. It requires officials to make public any significant sources of income. An adviser to Mrs. Clinton, Philippe Reines, said that Ms. Abedin was not obligated to do so. The disclosure of the agreement that Ms. Abedin made with the State Department comes as her husband,

The Internal Revenue Service´s watchdog told top Treasury officials around June 2012 he was investigating allegations the tax agency had targeted conservative groups, for the first time indicating that Obama administration officials were aware of the explosive matter in the midst of the president´s re-election campaign. The disclosure to the Treasury general counsel and the deputy secretary was a cursory one, according to J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration. He said he didn´t reveal conclusions of the probe, which was in its early stages, and his disclosure came as part
