| Texas senator Ted Cruz addressed the NRI Summit earlier today. Wearing a business suit and black cowboy boots, he had the podium removed from the stage so he could roam freely, and spoke without notes. In his remarks, Cruz offered guidance for his fellow GOP lawmakers. On his way out, I asked him to pass along some of that advice for National Review Online readers who couldn’t be here today, and about the role that the NRSC, of which he–along with Ohio senator Rob Portman– serves as vice chair, will play in the 2014 election. Ted Cruz is the ONLY reason I would consider contributing once again to the GOP. This man has everything our RINO representatives lack. Brains, a spine and a pair of testicles.

Our Tea Party did Yeoman´s work for Ted against Lt. Gov. Dewhurst. In the Primary, Ted won our County by 8 points. We were the largest of the very few Counties he won. The entire County Republican Establishment was against Ted as well. We also beat them in all but one of the contested local races.
As a result of our Primary success, Ted´s campaign asked us to organize a rally featuring Ted, Jim DeMint and Sarah Palin the Friday afternoon before the run-off on 36 hours notice. Over 2500 people attended in 95+ Degree Texas heat on a work day.
We chose Ted mainly because we believed that he was going to go up there to fight and not go along to get along which was our perception of Lt. Gov. Dewhurst. We sent Ted to join Senator´s DeMint, Lee, Paul and their allies and to give a headache to Senator McConnell. We hope that Senator Scott from South Carolina joins them. Ted is proving to be what we thought he would be.
On a side note, a Freshman Legislator from Texas made national news and the national talk shows by introducing a law that would authorize the arrest of any Federal Official that attempted to enforce any Executive Order contrary to the Second Amendment. That Legislator, Steve Toth, had stepped down from our Board to run against an entrenched incumbent in the Texas House Leadership. Though outspent over five to one, he won with 57% of the vote.
These are the people we need to find and elect and we are recruiting now for 2014. By the way, after the election was over in November, Lt. Governor Dewhurst who may be facing a Primary next year, invited our Leadership to lunch with him.
A few determined people can do a lot.

May I also add that Sen. Cruz also argued numerous cases before the US Supreme Court
and was endorsed by his friend Mark Levin.
Sen. Cruz KNOWS how to make a point.
McConnell´s easy days are over.

Of course the president deserves some of the blame. Yes, it’s extremely unlikely he ordered the IRS to discriminate against tea-party, pro-life, or Jewish groups opposed to his agenda (though why anyone should take his word for it is beyond me). And his outrage now — however convenient — is appreciated. But when people he views as his “enemies” complained about a politicized IRS, what did he do? Nothing. Imagine for a moment if black civil-rights organizations, gay groups, or teachers’ unions loudly complained to members of Congress and the press that the IRS was discriminating against them.
