| In his first term, President Obama passed two of the most sweeping expansions of federal power in history. (Snip) The second , his federal takeover of the financial system, may not fare as well. That law, Dodd-Frank, is being challenged in State National Bank of Big Spring v. Geithner. The lead plaintiff is a community bank that has had several of its business lines shut down by Dodd-Frank. Co-plaintiffs include the libertarian powerhouse the Competitive Enterprise Institute, the leading conservative seniors group the 60 Plus Association, and the states of South Carolina, Oklahoma, and Michigan.

Dodd-Frank is a monstrosity, but it is so complicated and about things most people know little about, so it hasn´t received the attention that Obamacare has. This is a clearly written article that gives a picture of one of its terrible provisions and why the law is unconstitutional.

This bill was just another example of of letting a crisis go to waste.The 2008 financial meltdown provided Obama and the big left a phony excuse to crack down on financial institutions under the guise of too big to fail. The main deception in this was supposedly consumer protection.It was all lies just like his promises that Obamacare would save people $2600 a year in premiums and cost under a trillion dollars.
What´s really happened in big Wall St. companies still go along unscathed by this law,like Jon Corzine and small community banks which are totally solvent are being strapped with new regulations and have to hire compliance officers,adding to their payrolls.
This law was actually passed so the government could choose the winners and losers in loans.Republican owned businesses were the main target. The whackos on the consumer protection board were warmed over members from the community development act which rated banks on if they made enough minority loans.
The bottom line is money is being shut off to successful,solvent people and business,while Wall St. crooks still get off the hook on criminal activity and more loans going to minorities,no matter what reason.
Banks have been bullied into eating underwater value in houses and making low interest loans that threaten their long term solvency.
Before this Obama signed the Frank/Dodd credit card which allowed banks to gouge people on credit card interest and fees but I´ll bet less than 10% of people even know this.I bought stuff at at 7.9 interest and all of a sudden it was 14% soon after this passed.My other cards went up also.Usually liberals complain if their atm charge goes up 2 bucks but they missed this altogether.

After a 29 year career in law enforcement I developed an expertise in investigating financial crimes / fraud. I was hired by a major financial institution after I retired from government and saved them thousands from people trying to rip off the company.
I lost this job because the company needed to downsize it´s asset protection team and hire a bunch of regulatory bean counters to satisfy Dodd - Frank. Many of the new hires are other retired employees from governmental regulatory agencies. Can´t really blame the company, they need to now protect their assets from the regulatory fines from Dodd-Frank rather than common criminals and con men ( I know, what´s the difference?). I am now trying to find work in more mundane investigative avenues. The thing that gets me is that I try to explain the ramifications of Dodd-Frank to potential employers (including people like insurance executives and attorneys) and the have no idea what the hell I´m talking about.
This country is in trouble.

#1 may be right, unfortunately. Right now I´m going to pray for the three Attorneys General that they prevail.
#5 is right: POTUS 44 is the biggest Unconstitutional disaster. and this needs to be stated repeatedly until it finally sinks in the mush-brains of the low-info voters.
My prayer is that Obama is removed from office through impeachment/resignation before 2016. Our history cannot let this kind of fraud go unanswered.

Conservatives and Republicans would be unwise to pursue President Obama´s impeachment as my colleague Bruce Walker today argues. The odds are the effort would backfire, and there is a much more important goal that should be at the center of our political strategy: sweeping Democrats out of office in 2014 and 2016 in numbers sufficient to enact structural reforms, including replacement of the tax system and junking the IRS and outlawing public employee unions. President Obama is handing his opponents the means, if only they have the wit to pursue the bigger goal.

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.
