Hillary Clinton was not
a great secretary of state

Washington Examiner [DC], by Editorial

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 1/26/2013 5:51:31 AM

If there was one constant through Secretary of State Hillary Clinton´s appearances before congressional committees Wednesday, it was that lawmakers fell all over themselves heaping praise on her for the job she has done. Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., was typical, saying: "Madame Secretary, you have represented us with tremendous strength and poise. You have won us friends." Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., gushed, "We don´t have time to give a full listing of the achievements you deserve credit for."

I thought "Halfbright" won the booby prize until PIAPS took the job. Absolute worst SoS in my lifetime. However, the rats in the House and Senate treated her like the second coming. I live in a world turned upside down...

Has anyone ever seen a list of the actual achievements of PIAPS as SOS? If there´s no list there are no achievements! I don´t know of any.

I watched for the entire day. She did not impress, she did not tell the truth. She did not answer a single question put to her.

The republicans made their points very well. Buying into the msm mantra that she was equisite in her performance is ludicrous.

Do we believe the lying media? What happened to our common sense. Are we so willing to blame republicans for her every failure?

This blaming of our side is akin to the ´won´ blaming Bush for everything. Have adopted that same mentality?

Seems so.

I got sick to my stomach and turned off the TV watching those sycophants called politicians make fools of themselves slobbering over this colossal failure. We are toast.

To answer No. 3´s question. Look it up - she has never achieved anything on her own except being married to Bill. He knows her better than anyone else does & even he stays as far away as he can from Nanny McPhee. In her "career" she´s done a lot of lecturing, pandering, campaigning, yelling, intimidating, harassing, traveling & just being an over all boor. In other words, she is all TALK. We only have her & James Carville´s hype that she is the smartest woman in the world, but there is NO tangible evidence of it, anywhere. She is a tough-talking, mean-mannered feminist & that is the ONLY reason she is admired by the fools who are taken in by her. She is a bigger zero than president zero.

Reply 7 - Posted by: ROLFnader, 1/26/2013 7:11:31 AM     (No. 9140091)

Watching the senators drool over her and John Kerry, I´ve finally been convinced, without a doubt, that term limits are a necessity. If you´ve been a member of their royal debating club, you will be nominated for any post that a president decides for you -unless of course you happen to be a true conservative. Ask Clarence Thomas.

Like Obama, Hillary is also a Saul Alinsky acolyte. She married a proud draft dodger because she too hated the idea that America stood in the way of the ´wave of the future.´ And she was up to no good in Arkansas either as she was a co-conspiritor in White-Water (remember that?) She moved to NY as a Democrat carpetbagger and traded on her weepy scorned woman creds to get elected senator. The house she bought with Bill was paid for by someone else -- McAuliff -- who is now running for senate as a Democrat carpetbagger here in VA. Finally, she helped Bill pick out the White House furniture they stole and even her dipstick brother got involved in arranging the pardons of criminals by Bill during his last days in office -- all done with connivance of our current Attorney General. She is a foul mouthed mean-spirited, pampered witch who furthered the disastrous foreign policy dictated by Obama. And all of lowly citizen-taxpayers will pay for their folly sooner than we think. A nuclear Iran, Al Qaeda-everwhere, and a weakened military to ´defend´ us and Western civilization. The Democrats in both houses were pitiful toadies. They were unwatchable wretches in the hearings and madam secretary got away with lies and dissembling. What have we become?

What the headline states is impossible. Sir Edmund is the smartest woman in the world. And her husband has a 160 IQ. JFK was the most athletic president we ever had. Jimmy Carter was a nukulah engineer. Hussein was a law professor. Michelle is a fashion plate. Remember all this. You will be quizzed!

Just what exactly are her ´accomplishments´?

She has presided turning over the Middle East to Islamists, the weakening of prospects for peace in Israel, drone killings everywhere without useful information, North Korean long-range middle tests aimed at America, the rise of al queda in North Africa, the murder of an Ambassador in Libya...in short: She and her boss stink.

I watched, swearing, until I could take it no longer. The Hag is unbearable/unwatchable.

Think about it, the US face to the world is Obama, The Hag, perhaps Reid and Panetta. What a disgrace. And as the Mid-east and north Africa crumble, their collective bungling becomes more apparent each day.

Fie on them.

Reply 22 - Posted by: IDestroyObamasGoons, 1/26/2013 8:30:56 AM     (No. 9140191)

Poster Aunt Agnes @ #6 gets it. Hillary is like Obama in so many ways: ultra-liberal, mean-spirited and nasty in-your-face when it comes to political opposition, and an Alinsky disciple, but, most of all, for her lack of accomplishments of her own. Hillary is "great" simply because people say she is, not for any real achievements. Hillary is like those vapid celebrities of the ´60s and ´70s who were "famous" for being famous. Even going back to her so-called "stellar" career as a lawyer. She was with that Rose Law Firm in Little Rock and messed that up. She was the head of education reform/improvement in Arkansas and the state went from 49th to 50th in educational quality. If it were possible to be even more empty than Obama, it is Hillary. Yet probably a majority of the electorate will flock to this lousy bum in ´16.

Reply 25 - Posted by: Teleologicus, 1/26/2013 9:29:04 AM     (No. 9140273)

Like Obama, Hillary is an example of Leftist fantasy ideology as purveyed in academia and the media. Her main value is symbolic. It is not what she has done or not done that matters but what she represents. For many people, Hillary Clinton is the incarnation of a political logos next to which mere reality, e.g. facts, truth, documentation, logic, even rationality, counts for less than nothing. Hillary Clinton is the representation and carrier of the hopes, dreams, and deepest and dearest beliefs of a segment of the population. This is why she is able to act indignant at being asked to give an account of her official actions and to utter irrational non sequiturs such as "What difference does it make?" what happened in Benghazi, who did it, why they did it, and whether Americans were deliberately misled by their own government about what happened.

The shorthand for this phenomenon is called the cult of personality. It seems to be something to which Leftists are peculiarly vulnerable, especially when combined with celebrity worship as a feature of mass culture.

As far as I am aware, Hillary Clinton has never in her entire life actually done or accomplished anything of special note - but that is entirely beside the point for her admirers. What she has done is to be Hillary Clinton, and for them, that is more than enough.

#9, I join #15 and others in thanking you for your post and adding my dittos.

May I add to your list, the outrageous pandering to the Jews of New York when she ran for the Senate seat! I was sickened when she did that, and I had the feeling that not a word she uttered was honest. Yet the gullible Jewish voters fell for it hook, line, and sinker. Now look what she has "accomplished" in North Africa. Does anyone honestly think that the US would come to the aid of Israel?

According to her testimony, she didnt see requests for help, didnt send Susan Rice out to lie to us, didn´t have anything to do with the talking points about the video (although she spewed them for days in an outraged voice). She says she takes full responsibility for what happened, but didn´t admit any mistakes. Huh?

They did this with Kennedy. Clintoon, Obama and now Hillary.
We need to counter that lie everytime we hear it with facts.

Achievements?!? From Hillary! Clinton?

Realize that this is a politician of the type where "rolling up my sleeves and going to work for the American people" was considered more than enough experience when she carpet-bagged her way into that Senate seat.

Rolling up her sleeves is her ONLY real accomplishment. Though a caveat here is we´ve heard from no one who can truthfully claim to have seen her actually rolling up those sleeves.

"Not a great secretary of state"?

I´d go much further. I´d say she was "not optimal."

#6: Accomplishments? How about: a. making a killing trading futures "thanks to reading the Wall Street Journal"; and b. tolerating Slick Willie long enough to jackpot the gravy train?

#7: The Constitution provides "term limits," or better. We get to exercise them every 2 years. If we still have problems with these tools in hand already, it´s because we´re not using them effectively, not because we lack the right ones. And would the people who voted to allow themselves legal insider trading be likely to stand and watch while we term-limit them back to reality?

#27: Seconded, with full agreement. For the Left, there is The Narrative. The Image. To them that is Received Truth. It´s kind of like the "celebrities" who are "famous for being famous." The rational mind says, "Well, but -- ?"

#29: The US would aid Israel. Obama, not so much.

#31: Rubio, like Jindal and Obama, isn´t legally qualified to be President. Period.

#43: Only because you´re a sexist. Only because you´re a sexist. But it works for me -- any reason´s a good reason.

The Democrats gushing over Hillary. Even many Republicans were gushing over her and on a defensive posture. The main questions to ask this bumbling liar was did you go along with the Video which caused the rabble rousing in Benghazi! The US UN ambassador proclaimed to the world that the video was the cause.Where were you Madam Secretary when 4 US patriots were fighting for their lives.( span of 5 hours ). Who gave the Command not to help these unfortunates in the compound. There is only one person who could have given the order and that was Obama Commander in Chief who was more concerned about getting re-elected by dancing off to Vegas for more moula.Any questioning concerning Panetta´s public statement , it´s unreal ´that their was no help nearby or a force ready to come to the aid of these 4 US citizens who were being murdered . Fighter aircraft 15 to 30 mins away , troop carriers 45 to an hour. Finally why the gag on the compound injured being treated in Hospital ? Not one question asked Panetta for his reasoning . Help was too far away . Mind boggling.

So what exactly does "taking responsibility" mean when you then go on to make excuse after excuse why this had nothing to do with you??? She lied, dodged, and filibustered with a bunch of crap to run down the clock - using her screeching as a "best defense if a good offense" ploy.

But I have finally realized what her great accomplishment is - what she really is a genius at! Self-Promotion! Just like her boss, her husband....so many in D.C. Real accomplishments are just so passe in this brave new world.

Funny, how travel has now become a torture for commoners and a breeze for politicos.

Hillary has gone through life believing she is smarter than Bill. But upset that the only way she could get anywhere is on his coattails. And somehow those coattails have gotten her pretty far. The bottom line is that she really isn´t that smart. She´s good at lying and cheating, but other than that she´s pretty much a flop. And as SOS she has really shown that.

I just saw the post here saying Rubio would not be his choice for President. That´s what happened in the last election. 3 million Republicans would not vote for Romney, so just did not vote. Now look what we have. A country that will never be the same - will be a socialist country before Obama stops.

Democrats fell far short of winning the House in 2012, an otherwise banner year for the party, and many are privately glum about taking back the chamber in 2014. But that grim immediate outlook raises a far more troubling longer-term prospect for Democrats: that the newly drawn congressional lines have tilted the electoral playing field so decisively in the GOP’s favor that the party could control the House through 2020. That this, in other words, could be the Democrats’ Lost Decade. Three of the past four elections have produced partisan upheaval, so political forecasting must be approached with caution.

Obama to Charlie Rose, yesterday: I’ve stood up a privacy and civil liberties oversight board made up of independent citizens, including some fierce civil libertarians. I’ll be meeting with them and what I want to do is to set up and structure a national conversation not only about these two programs but also about the general problem of these big data sets because this is not going to be restricted to government entities. The board Obama is referring to was created in 2004. Nominations and confirmation delays prevented the board from being particularly effective,

Obama never fails to enlist children in his secularist crusades, whether at home or abroad. Last week he trotted out two nine-year-old girls to introduce him at a White House event celebrating “LGBT Pride Month.” “We could not be prouder of Zea and Luna for the introduction,” he said. “Zea and Luna are here with their moms, and also I think with Grandma and Grandpa — correct? And so feel free to congratulate them afterwards for their outstanding introduction.” Zea and Luna proved useful to Obama not only as props for LGBT rights but also as mouthpieces for his gun-control agenda:

With dozens of Democratic lawmakers struggling to live on a food stamp budget to protest GOP cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, a Republican staffer says he is living on a SNAP budget without problems. Texas Republican Rep. Steve Stockman’s communications director and agriculture policy advisor, Donny Ferguson, says he has been able to eat well on $27.58 for a week, less than the $31.50 House Democrats have limited themselves to for their “SNAP Challenge.” “I wanted to personally experience the effects of the proposed cuts to food stamps. I didn’t plan ahead or buy strategically,

The ongoing saga of Edward Snowden has at least been moving in the right direction for President Obama. Snowden may once have tried to position himself as a whistleblower, but he has since devolved into ingratiating himself with authoritarian regimes by plying them with American national security secrets. While Pete is correct that the NSA story seems to be hurting voters’ opinion of Obama’s trustworthiness, Americans are by now realizing that they would be foolish to go the other extreme and place that trust in Snowden. It is also (understandably) distracting the public’s attention from the scandals that preceded it,

In two contexts the Obama administration has revealed its complete confusion about high-stakes negotiations and the interrelation of soft and hard power. In Syria, after dragging his feet for two years, trying to fudge over his own “red line” and coming up with a half-hearted move to give small arms to the rebels, President Obama discovers that he can’t budge Russia, which has backed Bashar al-Assad to the hilt. The Post reports that at the Group of 8 summit: Obama has demanded that Assad relinquish power as part of any negotiated peace settlement, a condition Putin rejects.

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Listening to Barack Obama give his speech in Belfast on Monday, it was hard not to stifle a yawn. I kept waiting for the part when he would say something interesting, but, about three quarters of the way through, realised it wasn’t going to come. Judging from television pictures some of his young audience felt the same, after the initial rush of euphoria of receiving the rock star president in their midst had passed. This is not surprising, for we had already heard this number about the inspirational role of the Northern Ireland peace process and the Emerald Isle’s

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.

The Obamas never miss an opportunity to mingle with the stars and during a two-day trip in Dublin, who better to have lunch with than iconic Irish rocker and philanthropist Bono? First Lady Michelle along with daughters Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11, started Tuesday with an hour-long visit to picturesque Glendalough in the Wicklow Mountains--but the two girls looked like they would have rather slept in at their luxury hotel. Glendalough is famous for its Medieval monastic settlement founded in the 6th century by St Kevin, the hermit priest. After appearing less than thrilled on Monday while viewing Medieval manuscripts
