US pop legend Tina Turner, who has been living in Switzerland since 1995, will soon receive Swiss citizenship and will give up her US passport, Swiss media reported Friday. "I´m very happy in Switzerland and I feel at home here. ... I cannot imagine a better place to live," Turner told German language daily Blick. Turner, 73, who was born Anna Mae Bullock, lives in picturesque town of Kuesnacht, on the shores of Lake Zurich in northern Switzerland, and has passed a local civics test and interview, according to an official announcement published in the Zuerichsee-Zeitung daily.

Swiss cheese, redefined.

Lame, I know. Sorry. I actually don´t have much of a problem with Tina; she seems to have made lemonaid out of the king of lemons, if you get my drift. Some of those 80´s tunes were really bad, though.

I drank a couple pitchers with Ike´s other ex several years ago in San Diego. She was there doing a blues thing, and I was just hangin´ around...

Having been married to a real creep, I suspect she knows the score with Obama, and I can´t blame her for wanting to live a quiet life after all she went through with that pig ex of hers. Until we hear otherwise, I think we can give Tina a break here. She is a decent lady.

My son is closed to giving up his citizenship, as well. As a young man, brought up with liberal education of "one-worldness (despite my efforts the other way), he is a fiscal/mostly social conservative but he doesn´t see the advantage of allowing one country to take more than half of his earnings when another country, which he enjoys as well, will let him keep the fruit of his labor.

As with any dysfunctional relationship, sometimes you can love the other entity, but not be able to be in a relationship with it.

It is breaking my heart, but I don´t blame him. I blame the socialist country my beloved country has become.

Becoming Swiss takes a lot of money, so I understand, which is why it´s probably a great place to live. If I had the money I would seriously consider repatriating there. I´m sick and tired of the smothering bossiness that is the US (and most states) government.

How I hate to write this, but here goes...

Tina Turner is getting out of the U.S. while she still can. It´s only a matter of time - and sooner than you might think as our government quickly runs out of money - before the IRS and other agencies of the U.S. Government impose economic repression on American citizens. Then, no one will be able to move wealth out of this country.

The IRS is already bullying banks in countries around the world, forcing them to act as de facto IRS revenue agents. It has already become very, very difficult for Americans to open bank accounts overseas, even ex-pats who own businesses. This is happening right now. Wait five years, if you dare, and you´ll be stuck in Obama´s America.

If you live in a country for 18 years, and love it there, and your ol´ man is a citizen, then changing citizenship is a understandable consideration. She is upbeat about it, and really, it isn´t exactly hard biting news.

All rich liberals may flee the United States when they realize the ugly truth about liberalism: that it´s about taking the money of those who earned it and giving it to the ones who haven´t earned it. It´s a very simple equation, actually.

Tina has every right to become a citizen of the country that she obviously loves. More power to her. I wish many pseudo americans would do the same. Michael Moore, Alec Baldwin and anyone else who thinks there are better places to live can move there as fast as possible. I´m sure America can stand the loss.

Like it or not, the world is a dangerous place, and getting more so. None of the portents look good. Vladimir Putin not so subtly says, in ever louder voice, that he’s in charge of events now, and the rest of the world should just get used to it. When Vlad roars, the rest of the world squeaks. He was in louder voice than ever Thursday, reminding a televised forum in Moscow that his parliament has authorized him to use force “if necessary” in eastern Ukraine, which he called, for the first time, “New Russia.” Whether portent or not, leaflets

Atlanta – Vegetarians may have a lower BMI and drink alcohol sparingly, but vegetarian diets are tied to generally poorer health, poorer quality of life and a higher need for health care than their meat-eating counterparts. A new study from the Medical University of Graz in Austria finds that vegetarians are more physically active, drink less alcohol and smoke less tobacco than those who consume meat in their diets. Vegetarians also have a higher socioeconomic status and a lower body mass index. But the vegetarian diet — characterized by a low consumption of saturated fats and cholesterol that includes increased intake

Berkeley, Calif. — Delivering a rare speech for a Republican at this bastion of liberalism, Kentucky Sen. Paul’s address at the Berkeley Forum on the campus of the University of California at Berkeley focused on the National Security Agency’s collection of telephone metadata and the debate over privacy. Frustration with the search for missing flight MH370 boiled over into chaotic scenes as Chinese relatives were dragged away from journalists. They were attempting to speak to Chinese journalists outside the daily press conference in Kuala Lumpur. A BBC reporter was pushed away from the relatives, who were carrying banners criticising the handling of the case. Teams from 26 countries are trying to find flight MH370, which went missing on 8 March with 239 people on board. One of the relatives, a middle-aged woman, cried: "They give different messages every day! Where´s the flight now? Find our relatives! Find the aircraft!" The Malaysian government said

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - The FBI is helping Malaysian authorities investigate deleted data on a flight simulator belonging to the pilot of the missing Malaysia Airlines plane, while distraught relatives of the passengers unleashed their anger Wednesday, wailing in frustration at 12 days of uncertainty. The anguish of relatives of the 239 people on Flight 370 boiled over at a briefing near Kuala Lumpur´s airport. Two Chinese women who shouted at Malaysian authorities and unfurled a banner accusing officials of "hiding the truth" were removed from the room. In a heart-wrenching scene, one woman screamed in sorrow as she was dragged

The Associated Press has stepped up its attack on White House efforts to block coverage of events involving President Obama, warning that once access is cut, “we´ll never get it back.” In the latest media charge that the White House has reneged on promises to be “transparent,” two of AP´s White House staff told a convention in Denver this week that the president´s team often bars coverage of Obama events because they are “hypersensitive” about his Image. At the Newspaper Association of America´s mediaXchange convention in Denver, AP White House photographer Charles Dharapak said that instead of letting reporters and photographers in

For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

That was quite a victory dance President Obama did Thursday while claiming Obamacare is “working” because eight million people have now supposedly signed up for the health care program. He even indulged in some less-than-subtle mockery of Republicans - and by extension the majority of Americans who have disapproved of Obamacare since before it became law. "The repeal debate is and should be over,” Obama said, taking a dig at Republicans who are “going through, you know, the stages of grief … anger and denial and all that stuff …” But a president who is viewed by most Americans as less

In a speech earlier this week, Lisa O. Monaco, President Barack Obama’s assistant for homeland security and counterterrorism, insisted that American parents must be vigilant because their “confrontational” children could be on the verge of becoming terrorists. Monaco’s full, prepared text is available here. She presented the speech, entitled “Countering Violent Extremism and the Power of Community,” at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government on April 15. Monaco began her remarks by eloquently describing the lives tragically lost last year during the Boston Marathon bombings. Interestingly, the Harvard grad failed to mention the religion or the motive of brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after
