| Joe McGinniss, the controversial author and journalist, has revealed he was diagnosed in May with advanced prostate cancer, but is responding well to treatment and feels "terrific." McGinniss, 70, posted on his Facebook page that he had "inoperable, terminal, metastatic prostate cancer." In an e-mail to the Associated Press, he confirmed the diagnosis, but said he has no symptoms and is eager to write more books and magazine articles.

I understand terminal, metastatic prostate cancer, but inoperable? Usually they just cut out the prostate.

What McGinniss did to Sarah Palin was reprehensible; however, I am certain that even Sarah would wish McGinniss a speedy recovery. My mother died from cancer and I cannot believe that anyone who has had it or had to deal with a relative or friend who had it, would wish cancer on anyone or harden their hearts to anyone who suffers from it.

I believe that means that although the cancer first showed up in the prostate, it has spread to other organs.

The Internal Revenue Service last year supplied a left-leaning nonprofit charity with confidential information about conservative organizations, which the charity disseminated to the public, ProPublica reported yesterday. The charity in question was ProPublica itself. We should acknowledge that "left-leaning" is our characterization; ProPublica describes itself in its own tax filings as "entirely non-partisan and non-ideological." ProPublica is legally obliged to be nonpartisan, for it enjoys tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, which means that contributions to it are tax-deductible.

If it is proven that the IRS thwarted some groups from obtaining tax-exempt status in fear that their traditional or conservative messages might hurt the 2012 Obama campaign (especially if it did so under pressure from White House-affiliated operatives), and if it is proven that the Obama administration deliberately ignored warnings about lax security at the Benghazi consulate, missed real opportunities to send help, or deliberately massaged intelligence reports in order to mislead the pre-election public about the true nature of Benghazi in order to further a false campaign narrative of a near dormant al-Qaeda

The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.
