| Apparently history was not a strong suit in college days for Barry Obama -- or his highly-paid speechwriters. In his 2,106 word aspirational tone poem from the Capitol steps at Monday´s official inauguration, Obama called for many people to do many things and vowed a myriad of vows, already faded in the memory of millions -- as usually happens to inaugurals and State of the Union shopping lists. Among those 2,100 words, four shockers leapt out at the eyes and ears of many Americans not in the news media: "Peace in our time."

Yes, the words screamed out at me.
A few days later, the announcement is Women in Combat.
When the big war arrives, women will have to take their place in our decimated combat lines..so WHO will be the Rosie the Riviters? Our children?
I was a kid during WW2..and America today is NOT up to a two front war, complete with huge sacrifices made by the people.
47% of Americans today are too soft and too stupid to be of any help, should war come.

That was 75 years ago. I remember hearing my parents talking about this.....they were very angry and thought that this was the worst thing that could happen. They listened to many of Hitler´s speeches and knew him to be trouble. Mother knew this would lead to war as she had spent several years in Europe during the rise of Hitler. The next year Sept/39, he marched into Poland and away we went.
Most Americans(80+yoa) know this. It is part of our heritage. THAT´S WHY YOU ELECT PRESIDENTS WHO KNOW OUR HISTORY!!!
Dear God, Help us to rid ourselves of this ignorance that blights our blessed nation.

The standard rule for handling bad news in politics is to get it all out at once. Take your hits for a news cycle, two or three. And then try to move on. The worst thing to do is allow the bad news to dribble out, poison drop by poison drop, for days, weeks, even months. Yet that is precisely what Barack Obama has done -- and continues to do in his current epidemic of embarrassments -- over a decade of controversies and scandals. The amazing thing is, so far, it´s worked like a charm. So, why should he change?

Graduation ceremonies are good times for families and their offspring, which makes them good times for politicians to be around and associate themselves with happiness. President Obama gives four commencement speeches per year--at one public and one private university, one historically black school and one service academy. Just before his epidemic of scandals broke, Obama critiqued the many faults of America and told Ohio State graduates to dismiss cynical talk about over-reaching government and fear of tyranny. Technically, first ladies are not politicians. Most are dutiful if often reluctant campaigners. But Michelle Obama is a glaring exception.

Finally, scientific confirmation of what so many have suspected all along: The strongest of men in varied societies around the world are much more likely to hold conservative political views. Probably much smarter too. While weaker guys, regardless of wealth, are more liberal, into handouts and wealth redistribution because, well, they don´t have the strength to get it and keep it themselves. The reassuring results come from a new study by researchers at Denmark´s Aarhus University.

Hi, I’m Congressman Andy Harris, and this is the Red Tape Tower. 20,000 pages high and seven feet tall, it encompasses all of the regulations already associated with President Obama’s health care law. The red tape, the taxes, the mandates, the tricks, the traps, the fine print … it’s all here. Now: just think about the fact that it’s the IRS that will be responsible for enforcing many of these regulations. If we’ve learned anything this week, it’s that the IRS needs less power.

Hi, everybody. Over the past few months, I’ve laid out a series of commonsense ideas to reignite the true engine of our economic growth: a rising, thriving middle class. The way I see it, there are three areas where we need to focus. One: making America a magnet for good jobs. Two: making sure our workers have the education and skills they need to do those jobs. Another awkward day in the unraveling presidency of Barack Obama. Beset by a trio of profound scandals, the Democrat planned Thursday´s message on foreign affairs through a joint news conference with Turkey´s Prime Minister Erdogan, a NATO ally. Unfortunately, Obama´s advance staff was apparently too busy preparing his next campaign stops to check the Washington weather forecast. It set up the news conference outdoors in the Rose Garden. Wouldn´t you know given POTUS´ recent luck, it began raining heavily. Obama [Snip] ordered two U.S. Marines to come hold umbrellas over the leaders´ heads while standing at attention.

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.
