| President Barack Obama’s former national field director Jeremy Bird has launched an organization with a plan to turn Texas blue for the first time in decades, Politico reports. Bird’s new organization, “Battleground Texas,” will target Hispanic voters in the state to try to swing the Lone Star state in the direction of Democrats. Texas has for a long time been a Republican Party stronghold, and its 38 electoral college votes are crucial to any GOP presidential candidate’s run for office. If Texas becomes a battleground or Democratic Party state, Republican presidential candidates may be in dire danger.

For what it´s worth, the Democratic party that was for years dominant in Texas is certainly not the Democratic party of today.
To convert the state from the current Republican majority to the new moonbat left wing Democratic party will required that the undocumented visiting illegal immigrants be allowed to vote. That means the ones currently allowed to vote even though not citizens, and the millions that will be recruited to register to vote by the moonbat Democrats.

Remember the Alamo & Patrick Henry! Do we have to fight Santa Anna again? Texas has a lot of guns if we are the last "bastion". Give ´em hell Cruz!

As crazy as it sounds...the Republicans should be doing the same thing. We should have a full-press decade-long pr machine at work in Pennsylvania, for example.

Dems have dreamed about this for years. Despite their efforts, the voting demographics have changed very little. Texas Hispanics run candidates and we elect them. Texas Hispanics vote for Republican as well as Dem candidates. They are not monolithic, the Texas Hispanic voters, and Dems keep thinking they can be treated like the Florida Cubans or the Chicago blacks. In Texas, Hispanics don´t consider Republicans to be their enemy, but are instead their friends and neighbors.
Good luck, Dems, you´re going to need it in Texas. You can´t even find credible Democrat candidates to run.

To expand on a previous poster, with all the garbage that Obama and his machine are pulling, Texans want nothing to do with liberal politics. There is a reason for the saying ´Don´t Mess With Texas´. Maybe the libs should research the Alamo a bit before trying to be stupid. Then they will know what they are up against.

The problem with the Republicans trying this is that they will have to move to already-made hellholes, while the ´Rats doing this are all moving to better places.

Oh yes, Texas has suffered through such d´rats as Ann Richards (silver spoon and all), Preston Smith; John Connally,JFK buddy who switched to Republican after serving as Governor as a rat. It took time to kick their wide loads. We are a friendly state. THAT might be the end of us...too friendly in that we open doors to so many... d´rats included.

#8 will remember that things begin to change with the election of John Tower to the Senate. Until that time, Republicans didn´t garner enough votes to qualify for their own primaries.

Well, all I can say is that Texans should expect no help from the Republican Party HQ. After all, Texans are not their kind of people. I suspect the ´country club´ Repubs pretty much look down their collective noses when they glance toward the southwest.

This could be a concern. I was born and raised and still live in Texas and I am fiercely proud of our more independent heritage, but a lot of people I know vote Democratic. Like most liberals, they don´t seem to realize that they live their personal lives by conservative principles, but for some reason when it comes to voting they can be as stridently partisan Democrat as anyone. And, I´ve tried to reason with them, but not they seem immune to rational political thought.

Based on who the Repubs put up as candidates, the Dems need not worry about a Republican President for a long time.

Texas has a high number of legal ´´Hispanics´´ who do not like the illegals taking jobs from them. The democrats think that all Hispanics are illegal.

The main reason that the Democrats want to put the 12-20 million illegal aliens here now on "a path to citizenship" is to eventually grant them US voting rights. Most illegal aliens are generally undereducated poor people who come here from socialist oriented third world countries. Once here those illegal aliens, if they can find a job, are low wage earners. The Democrats know from historical fact that probably about 80% of legalized aliens of that class, influenced by the many very liberal ethnic and immigrant rights groups will always vote for liberal Democrats who offer them new rights, benefits, and services that they will need to survive in the high cost of living USA. The Republicans will never be able to remain the conservative political party and out bid the Democrats for most of those people´s future votes.
If the Democrats dupe the wimpy Republicans into going along with any sort of "path to citizenship" amnesty for all those illegal aliens, the Democrats know that in the years ahead, that with ten million or so new foreign born voters, that they will easily be able to change the political balance in States like Arizona, Florida, and even Texas in favor of the Democrats thus assuring long-term political suicide for the Republicans who would thereafter have no chance of ever again winning national elections in the USA.

Meet the Women for Weiner. The former congressman, who apologized for the lewd picture scandal that ended his House career before launching a bid last month for New York City mayor, is holding a fundraiser hosted by “Women for Anthony” next week at the Manhattan home of an education activist and philanthropist. The host committee is led by his wife, Huma Abedin, and includes her sister, Heba; Rory Tahari, wife of designer Elie Tahari; and Cheryl Saban, the wife of California-based mega-donor Haim Saban, who funded a short film lauding Hillary Clinton’s tenure at the State Department

Likening religious schools to segregation--a racist system that forced blacks to attend different schools and use different facilities than whites in the American South--President Barack Obama told a town hall meeting for youth in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Monday that there should not be Catholic and Protestant schools because such schools cause division. "Because issues like segregated schools and housing, lack of jobs and opportunity--symbols of history that are a source of pride for some and pain for others--these are not tangential to peace; they’re essential to it,"

News reports from the final debate between Democrat Ed Markey and Republican Gabriel Gomez conclude that Gomez, a first-time candidate and self-styled "new kind of Republican," delivered a strong performance. With just days left in the campaign before the June 25 special election for Senate, Gomez has trailed Markey, a 37-year veteran of the House, in every single poll. Markey currently leads by average of more than 9 points. But in the debate Tuesday night, Gomez hit Markey hard on the Democrat´s long Washington tenure, a running theme in the Republican´s campaign. The Obama administration has reportedly tried to enlist the NBA in helping it sell Obamacare to the American people. It’s unclear whether a potential marketing partnership would put big-name players at the center of ad campaigns or if it would be as simple as putting the NBA trademark on marketing materials, Politico first reported today. People can begin signing up for Obamacare in October, with the new insurance coverage kicking in next year. Many have speculated that the enrollment campaigns would benefit from a celebrity endorsement or partnership with a major sports league.

Guides have dropped "God" from their Girl Guides´ Promise. In a multicultural and individualist age, the thinking goes, the movement should pledge "to be true to myself and develop my beliefs". None of that guff about God and country. It´s now all about "Me" and the anything goes spirituality. Hindu, Druid, New Ager, Muslim, Christian: everything´s the same these days. We´ve seen it elsewhere. Druids and Christians are accorded equal rights in the workplace: when a Druid employee, say, wants time off to go to Stonehenge for the Solstice, the boss must treat her the same

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. And Sarah blasted him on Twitter as a bully. Is that, is it, is he a bully? Is he a bad, what is he?

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
