Afghan bombing helped shape
Panetta´s views on women in war

Washington - Three years before he lifted the U.S. military´s ban on females in front-line combat, Leon Panetta grew acutely aware that women in senior positions were already risking - and losing - their lives when a would-be informant blew himself up at a CIA base in Afghanistan. Panetta was CIA director at the time of the December 2009 attack in Khost, Afghanistan, and two women -- including one who headed the CIA base -- were among the seven Americans killed. (Snip) More than 150 women have died in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq since 2001, and nearly 1,000 have been wounded.

Panetta, who must have given this classified info to the producers of "Zero Dark Thirty." It was one of the few major stories in the otherwise boring movie. I have never heard of the female count before of deaths in the Middle East, but, sadly, it would be nice to know how many are from suicide. Like all things dRATS and War, they fix their numbers to fit their needs. RIP, however the men and women died for our Country.

Good thinking Panetta - Women are already dying for our country, the obvious solution is to make sure that more of them die. Rest assured that every single one that is captured will also be raped. That is how we achieve equality so everyone feels good,

Call me skeptical but I don´t believe a word of this story. Whatever Panetta´s says is his personal belief is irrelevant. He is doing what he is told to do by his superiors, period. Nothing more, nothing less. Just like John Kerry told us today: "I WILL IMPLEMENT ´PRESIDENT OBAMA´S VISION FOR THE WORLD".

All the rest of this story is fluff and nonsense.

Quick somebody tell these libs that yes there are physical differences between men and women.

Like Hillary Clinton´s incredible and insulting "What difference, at this point, does it really make?" Panetta´s rationalization for sending women into combat is irrational and self-contradictory. So is Marine General Dempsey´s conclusion that because he saw a female turret gunner it is time to change the policy on women in combat.

These people are talking literal nonsense. What they are saying does not make sense. Their logic doesn´t work. It is embarrassing.

This is something new. It is possible because the lap dog media decline to analyze, criticize, or advertise such unprecedented rubbish so long as it advances their ideological agenda. We have reached a new stage in the dumbing down of America when top officials can say ridiculous, incoherent, meaningless things and get away with it for political reasons.

Panetta has never served in combat , any branch of th military or Boy Scouts.
But he is an expewrt on women.

#5: Obama´s boy, General Martin Dempsey, Potomac Prince, is most certainly NOT a Marine!

Spanish engineers, who already spent some $680 million on designing the new generation S-80 class submarine, say it is a major “technical innovation.” There is just one problem the calculations show – if submerged into water, it may never come up again. The Spanish media has been furiously discussing the errors made by the state-owned Navantia construction company, which has spent about a third of the huge $2.2 billion budget only to produce an ‘overweight’ submarine that is not able to float. Spain’s Ministry of Defense has confirmed that Navantia detected “deviations”

“He was not radical at all,” Taramov told WESH-TV. He added that the FBI had been tracking Todashev since the Boston bombings. At some point, Todashev moved to Florida. He was arrested for aggravated battery this month, according to police records, after getting into a fight with a man in a parking lot. When the FBI agent and others arrived at his apartment early Wednesday, the law enforcement officials said Todashev initially was cooperative. They said he appeared on the verge of signing a confession to the killings of three people in Waltham in September 2011.

Jerusalem - Israel´s air force chief says his troops need to be ready to act quickly in case of an attack from Syria. The remarks by Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel Wednesday echo statements by Israel´s military chief of staff a day earlier. Eshel warned escalation could lead to a "surprise war." He said Russian S-300 air defense systems are "on their way" to Syria, though Israel asked Russia not to supply them. Israel is concerned the Syrian civil war could spill across its border. Syrian and Israeli forces briefly exchanged fire on the Golan Heights border Tuesday. Israel has warned it will not tolerate fire from Syria

Amman, Jordan — The United States and its Arab and European allies will step up their support for Syria´s opposition to help them "fight for the freedom of their country" if President Bashar Assad´s regime doesn´t engage in peace talks in good faith, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry vowed Wednesday. Kerry allowed that President Barack Obama won´t send American troops to Syria. But he made clear that more aid to the rebels would be coming if the effort fails. The man shot dead by an FBI agent in Orlando, Florida early today was "about to sign a statement" admitting to a role, along with Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, in an unsolved triple murder in Massachusetts in 2011, two people with direct knowledge of the case told ABC News. Ibragim Todashev "just went crazy," and pulled a knife during his interview with the FBI, said state and federal law enforcement officials briefed on the latest strange twist in the investigation of the Boston Marathon bombing. One official said an FBI agent was stabbed several times,

An 18-year-old Florida student’s senior year has become a nightmare — all because she was in a same-sex relationship with a 15-year-old, her family says. Kaitlyn Hunt was arrested Feb. 16 for having a physical relationship with a younger classmate, who was her girlfriend at the time, mom Kelley Hunt Smith wrote on Facebook. Under Florida law, Hunt could see up to 15 years in prison and must register as a sex offender. A plea deal, however, remains on the table that would give Hunt two years´ house arrest and one year of probation, her family said. “Does my daughter deserve to lose her life for

As the impasse over Tehran’s nuclear program worsens, those most likely to be directly affected by an Iranian bomb are showing greater alarm. While the media fixates on Israel and its possible reaction, other regional players have no less at stake. Despite Riyadh’s long-held advocacy of making the Middle East a zone free of weapons of mass destruction, there has been much speculation in the past few years about the possibility of its acquiring, or developing, nuclear weapons should Tehran obtain the bomb. In the words of Saudi King Abdullah: “If Iran developed nuclear weapons (...) everyone in the

Former Rep. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.
