Defense: As sequestration looms and an advocate of military budget cuts prepares to be confirmed as Secretary of Defense, the Army reports that it will have to cut base operations by almost a third, jeopardizing its missions. ´The readiness of our Armed Forces is at a tipping point," Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey wrote to Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., the chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, in a Jan. 14 letter also signed by the chiefs of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps.

#2, I had to prepare a White Paper on the impact of this on the National Guard´s grants to state to maintain federal levels of readiness. When my boss presented it to our senior leaders they scoffed and said I was over reacting. They are completely clueless on what our civilian leadership is trying to accomplish. Bottom line this will make America less safe.
Hagel and the generals named in the article are really nothing more then yes men for Obama who will micro manage the downsizing of the US military, and they know if they do not go along with Obama and his very liberal crew 100% that they will be told to retire.
Connect these dots, 1. Sequestration of DoD funds 2. Gays in the military 3. Female combatants 4. Firing of high level officers who voice concern 5. Appointment of a SecDef who has advocated unilateral dismantling of US nuclear arsenal 6. Appointment of a SecState who has accused US troops in combat of war crimes 7. Obama has an agenda, and it is the transformation of America as we know it; he has told us this. When he is done American military power will be crippled.

When Clinton cut 8 of 18 Army divisions, and failed to take out Bin Laden, the 9/11 attacks and Saddam´s attacks on the oil fields in the middle east were the result.
If our military leaders allow Obama´s attacks and decimation of our military, the result will be massive war on American soil. And Obama and Feinstein and other libs want to disarm Americans.
This is the result of "electing" a community organizer whose thin resume includes working for Baskin Robbins, lecturing on the Constitution (really?), voting "Present" and campaigning to be Commander in Chief.
Fine. Bring all our young patriots home. They can join local& state guard forces. Frankly, they are being degraded & demoralized by the current military leadership anyway. Let Obama draft his welfare recipients.
Seriously... would it be much worse living under Putin vs Obama? At least Putin has a flat 15% income tax!
And Putin is not a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, bent on advancing Islam around the world.
Earlier Tuesday, NBC News reported that President Barack Obama had shaken hands with Zimbabwean leader Robert Mugabe. However, the UK Telegraph´s Josie Ensor reported that Obama "was asked to take his seat just before reaching Mugabe." Complicating matters, another article in the UK Telegraph also claimed that Obama had shaken hands with Mugabe--in very similar terms to those used in the NBC article. Breitbart News caught the discrepancy--and suddenly the NBC News article was corrected, with no notice. Before: On his way to the rostrum, Obama also shook the hand of Robert Mugabe, the strongman ruler of Zimbabwe, and hugged Dilma Rousseff, the
The budget deal announced Tuesday by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) would boost federal spending by around $65 billion over the next two years. This new spending is offset by increasing user fees, boosting pension contributions by federal employees and the military, and other minor changes. Ryan and Murray also say that the deal will reduce the deficit by $23 billion over the next 10 years. This reduction, however, doesn´t start until 2022. According to a 4-page summary document of the deal obtained by Breitbart News, "[t]he budget proposal saves $28 billion over ten years by requiring
President Obama will extend his mini-amnesty for young illegals, said Cecilia Muñoz, White House director of domestic policy. “As long as this president” is in power, “you will be able to renew your deferred action,” Muñoz told one questioner during an online question-and-answer session on immigration conducted via Skype. So far, Obama’s deputies have granted the two-year “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” amnesty to at least 567,563 illegals, giving them the right to get jobs in every state, get drivers’ licenses in some states, to enroll in school and to receive government aid. Only 21,162 illegals have been rejected. Roughly 11 million
The White House insisted Wednesday that President Obama’s credibility had not been damaged by the botched rollout of Obamacare, despite a series of recent polls showing his diminished standing with the American public. "I don´t think I agree with that conclusion,” White House deputy press secretary Josh Earnest said of the assertion that fewer Americans trust the president because of broken promises over his signature domestic achievement. However, a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll found that 54 percent of respondents disapproved of the president’s job performance, driven mainly by the problem-plagued rollout of Obamacare. Fifty-eight percent of those surveyed said Obamacare was
The death of iconic South African leader Nelson Mandela prompted torrents of gushing praise from world leaders and media this week. Mandela was widely depicted as a near-flawless human being. BBC presenter Evan Davis said Mandela ranked near Jesus in the "pantheon of virtue"; Bono said Mandela was "stubborn ´til the end for all the right reasons, it felt like he very nearly outstared his maker." But the truth about Mandela is somewhat more shaded. He will be remembered for his magnificent legacy of racial unification in the aftermath of his release from prison in 1990. Mandela´s critics worried, not unreasonably,
Imagine if a provision in ObamaCare allowed Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to dictate directly to doctors which services they could and could not provide their patients—what individual tests they could conduct, which treatments they could offer, and medicines they could prescribe. Americans would be outraged. Yet some Republicans on Capitol Hill are about to help Democrats pass such a provision for Medicare patients. The Senate Finance Committee is set to vote on permanent "doc-fix" legislation Thursday that grants the federal government broad new authority to determine "applicable appropriate use criteria" for the full range of outpatient medical
Most of Washington seems to have bought the White House claim that the 36 federal exchanges are finally working, and glory, glory, hallelujah. But if that´s really true, then what explains the ongoing secrecy and evasion? On Wednesday the Health and Human Services Department continued its Victorian-era strip tease and allowed a glimpse into the Affordable Care Act´s "enrollment" for November. Out of respect for a free press, reporters ought to boycott these releases because they´re so selective that they reveal little about real enrollment. But we´ll try to parse the data as best we can without the White House high
When I was a kid, I knew two different Santa Clauses. The first had a fat belly, rosy cheeks, a long white beard, and skin as pink as bubble gum. He was omnipresent, visiting my pre-school and the local mall, visible in all of my favorite Christmas specials. Then there was the Santa in my family’s household, in the form of ornaments, cards, and holiday figurines. A near-carbon copy of the first one—big belly, rosy cheeks, long white beard: check, check, check. But his skin was as dark as mine. Seeing two different Santas was bewildering. Eventually I asked my father what
US President Barack Obama may have moved the masses attending Nelson Mandela’s memorial service with his stirring eulogy, but it was his grinning "selfie" with the Danish and British premiers that set social networks abuzz. In a candid moment captured by a photographer, Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt can be seen holding up her smartphone, with Obama lending a helping hand, as they pose for a picture with David Cameron, all three of them smiling broadly in their seats at Soweto’s World Cup stadium.(Snip)Mashable, the news and technology website, ran the photograph under the headline: ‘‘Dear Obama: Funerals are no place
Johannesburg - A man who provided sign language interpretation on stage for Nelson Mandela´s memorial service, attended by scores of heads of state, was a "fake," the national director of the Deaf Federation of South Africa said on Tuesday. Asked about the claim by The Associated Press, South Africa´s government said it was preparing a statement. Three sign language experts said the man was not signing in South African or American sign languages. South African sign language covers all of the country´s 11 official languages, according to the federation. It wasn´t immediately clear if the unidentified man was using a
On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) snapped at conservative groups that have come out in opposition to the budget deal reached Wednesday between Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). "They´re using the American people for their own purposes. This is ridiculous," Boehner said at a press conference with other members of House Republican leadership on Wednesday. Over the past few days, a number of conservative groups have blasted the deal because it sets discretionary spending levels in the budget higher than previous levels under sequestration. In the past three days, the influential Heritage Action, Club for Growth, Americans
The Obama State Department has finally released a second round of photos revealing the harrowing devastation wrought by a terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. The new photographs depict rampant damage to the consulate. They show charred walls, smoldering fires, Arabic graffiti defacing exterior walls, and scattered debris throughout. The extent of the damage would lead any reasonably serious person to conclude that this was a cold, calculated attack, carefully coordinated to mark the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. Unfortunately for the American people, the Obama-Clinton-Rice cabal that led to the Benghazi cover-up was
A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned. Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
