| Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D., Calif.) laid out the conditions of her proposed assault weapons ban Thursday, saying it would prohibit 158 specifically named military-style firearms. “The purpose is to dry up the supply of these weapons over time,” Feinstein said. “Therefore, there is no sunset on this bill.” Feinstein said the bill prohibits the sale, transfer, manufacture and importation of assault weapons and large capacity ammunition feeding devices that can accept more than ten rounds, but said it would not affect hunting or sporting firearms. “Instead, the bill protects hunters and sportsmen by protecting 2,200 specifically-named weapons used for

We have to keep saying it, over and over and over. The Second Amendment is not about hunting and sportsmen. This is their "divide and conquer" strategy; get those firearm owners whose only interest is hunting or competition to side with the gun-grabbers by pretending to protect them. I´m already seeing the letters to the editor saying "I´m a hunter, and I agree that we just don´t need "assault rifles" and thirty-round magazines."

Since the information is now out there that "assault weapons" her words not mine were NOT used in the killings at Sandy Point, by what justification are politicians proceeding with this bogus premise? If these communist politicians can ignore the second amendment, what amendment will they come after next? Beware American People.

Feinstupe is right. We give up our guns and then muslim broBama can give them to Morsi along with all the jets and tanks they want. We can defend our homes and country with our surplus over-priced solar panels.

Just as the ban on cocaine has dried up the supply over time. I know that they actually don´t care but it should be obvious that the government has NEVER been able to ban anything without creating a lucrative black market which keeps the supply lines just as full of product as before the ban.

So Sen. Fienstein, Molon Labe

Yes, this will definitely dry up LEGAL weapons over time, but the black-market in these products will skyrocket, much as has happened with drugs. It´s just fine with this Administration to move weapons to "insurgents" in OTHER Countries, just as long as our own citizenry toes the line. More people than ever will be injured or killed, because now they can fight over guns as they do with other products. Obviously they have not read their American history books and reviewed "Prohibition".

DiFi provides evidence that she´s graduated from democrat to dementia-afflicted, from socialist to psychotic. This ill-conceived (and repeatedly-proven-to-be-ineffective) proposal will only dry up the supply of liberty, as a disarmed populace will be even more at the mercy of the violent and unable to stand up for their rights.

Unfortunately, this has already been foisted upon us once ... the fully automatic weapon ban of those firearms made past 1986. That is, they limited the pool to existing weapons which has driven up demand (supply diminished because no one wanted to sell) and you had to get "permission" (BATFE tax stamp for ANY transfer).
I personally believe that private individuals should be able to own ANY weapon held by the government/military. We pay for theirs and you should not diminish your resistive capability to a potential enemy.

Signs of ObamaCare´s failings mount daily, including soaring insurance costs, looming provider shortages and inadequate insurance exchanges. Yet the law´s most disturbing feature may be the Independent Payment Advisory Board. The IPAB, sometimes called a "death panel," threatens both the Medicare program and the Constitution´s separation of powers. At a time when many Americans have been unsettled by abuses at the Internal Revenue Service and Justice Department, the introduction of a powerful and largely unaccountable board into health care merits special scrutiny. For a vivid illustration of the extent to which life-and-death medical decisions have already been usurped by government bureaucrats,

Disarmament: President Obama has proposed targeting cuts in deployed atomic weapons of up to a third below levels achieved in a 2010 treaty with Russia. He wants a world without nuclear arms — specifically ours. Only a shameless politician could invoke the name of President Kennedy in Berlin to announce the nuclear disarmament of America. When Kennedy proclaimed "Ich bin ein Berliner" in June 1963, it was a statement of solidarity with the free people of West Berlin and a pledge of resistance to the tyranny that surrounded it. It was not an act of

War On Terror: President Obama is practically engineering a silent coup against flawed Afghan President Hamid Karzai, with whom we replaced the Taliban in 2001. He´s copying America´s worst mistake of the Vietnam War. A perfect comparison it may not be, but disturbing similarities exist between the Obama administration´s unfolding abandonment of Afghanistan´s corrupt President Karzai and the Kennedy administration´s betrayal of South Vietnamese President Ngo Dinh Diem 50 years ago. Karzai on Wednesday backed out of impending talks with the Taliban after the U.S. announced its diplomats will negotiate directly with the country´s bloodthirsty former rulers.

President Obama insists his policies are driven by a "common sense" approach. He also speaks in terms of "we the people" and "the government is us." Such declarations are reminiscent of old Soviet posters displayed for all to see: "ALL POWER BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE" and "PEOPLE AND COMMUNIST PARTY ARE ONE." But the real power in the USSR was in the hands of Communist Party leaders. They, in the name of the people, defined foes of centralized government as "enemies of the people." Similarly, Obama´s Department of Homeland Security has defined right-wing extremists as "those that are mainly anti-government,

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Likening religious schools to segregation--a racist system that forced blacks to attend different schools and use different facilities than whites in the American South--President Barack Obama told a town hall meeting for youth in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Monday that there should not be Catholic and Protestant schools because such schools cause division. "Because issues like segregated schools and housing, lack of jobs and opportunity--symbols of history that are a source of pride for some and pain for others--these are not tangential to peace; they’re essential to it,"

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

Listening to Barack Obama give his speech in Belfast on Monday, it was hard not to stifle a yawn. I kept waiting for the part when he would say something interesting, but, about three quarters of the way through, realised it wasn’t going to come. Judging from television pictures some of his young audience felt the same, after the initial rush of euphoria of receiving the rock star president in their midst had passed. This is not surprising, for we had already heard this number about the inspirational role of the Northern Ireland peace process and the Emerald Isle’s

Celebrity chef Paula Deen admitted in a recorded deposition to telling racist jokes, using the N-word, and planning a slavery-themed wedding, according to multiple reports. The May 17 deposition where she made the alleged admissions is part of a $1.2 million lawsuit brought by Lisa Jackson, the former manager of a Savannah, Georgia, restaurant run by Deen and her brother Bubba Hiers. Jackson alleges in the suit that Deen used the N-word at the restaurant and that Hiers sexually harassed her. According to the reports, in the deposition, Deen replied “Yes, of course,”

This is the thirtieth anniversary of the publication of How Democracies Perish, an analysis of the spread of world communism by Jean-François Revel, one of freedom´s most serious French defenders since Tocqueville. At the heart of this work, Revel details "The Tools of Communist Expansion," among which the most relevant for understanding our current situation comes in Chapter 16, "Ideological Warfare and Disinformation." The profound simplicity of Revel´s nuts and bolts account of totalitarianism´s Cold War advance, far from being obsolete
