Feinstein introduces sweeping
ban on military-style weapons

The Hill [Washington, DC], by Alexander Bolton

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 1/24/2013 12:09:29 PM

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and a group of Senate Democrats on Thursday introduced legislation to ban the sale and manufacture of more than 150 types of semi-automatic weapons with military-style features. The legislation also bans magazines holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition and requires people who already own assault rifles to use secure storage and safety devices and bars them from selling high-capacity clips. “No weapon is taken from anyone,” said Feinstein. “The purpose is to dry up the supply of these weapons over time.”

Comments:
And so it begins. I´ve never felt more unsettled about what is happening in our country. It´s terribly distressing.

For those of us with Dem/socialist/fascist Senators up for reelection in 2014, now is the time to write and call their office. We need to be sure there is bipartisan opposition to this nut job’s bill.

This is not a good bill. Gun contol is not intended for public safety. It is intended for politician safety. Because her bill is so wrong headed, it will probably pass. Our prevailing political climate is toxic.

"Dianne Feinstein was first elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in 1969. She won one of her elections by campaigning late the night before election day at sado-masochistic bars. She got the whip vote and was smart enough to it so late that the news media could not get the story out to the voters. This was at a time when the SF Coroner’s office admitted that 10% of all unnatural deaths were the result of sadists cutting off the circulation of their sexual partners. The coroner ran classes to educate the sadists as to the correct methods of tying up people. Establishments were set up with doctors and nurses on call so masochists could receive immediate medical attention. Unfortunately for America she defeated Quentin Kopp for President of the Board of Supervisors in 1978. On November 27, 1978 Mayor Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk were assassinated by ex-Supervisor Dan White and she became Mayor of San Francisco. Mr White used the Twinkie defense and was convicted of manslaughter as opposed to murder. He served less than two years of a 5 to 7 year sentence".

One seriously has to wonder about the ´brain power´ of a career politician now supposedly an ´authority´ on firearms...

...who hasn´t quite figured out that a double-barrel 12 ga. shotgun loaded with 00 buckshot could do about as much damage in a classroom full of kindergarten kids as an ´assault weapon´. Real smart Feinstein - guess you missed the class on ´projectiles per cartridge´ at the San-Fran S&M gun club...

Game on, DiFi. Democrats are so dishonest. What they really want is to abolish the 2nd Amendment. Sorry. You can´t amend the Constitution by statute. We don´t need our weapons just to shoot targets and deer. We need them to protect ourselves from Democrat tyrants. Democrats are the biggest enemy this Republic faces.

Besides taking away the historic constitutional rights of hundreds of millions of law aiding Americans based on a few criminally insane actions perpetrated by mentally ill people, who are dangerous to themselves and others by banning just about all modern semi-automatic firearms produced and sold in America today, this liberal Democrat bill is designed to put most of the conservative oriented US small arms and related industries out of business, as they could not survive by bidding for a diminishing number of military contracts in the future. If that happens, the liberal Democrats will also be destroying tens of thousands of well paying US jobs in those industries.

And if all these evil "assault" weapons disappear as she wants, it will drop the annual murder count by such a miniscule amount as to be nearly unmeasurable.

The goal is to take advantage of a shocking emotional event to further the next step of killing the 2nd amendment, not to actually do anything productive to prevent a recurrance of the original problem.

When this doesn´t work, it will be on to the next step, ad infanitum.

Pass what you want......I will proudly defy it. And they better stay out of Texas if they want to enforce it. The only place they will be welcomed is Travis Couny, what we call San Francisco on the Colorado.

Otherwise, the law will not be worth the paper it is printed on. Here in Texas we can read the U.S Constitution just fine and have no need for a liberal judge to tell us what it says.

President Obama’s trip this month to Africa, with the first family tagging along, is projected to cost taxpayers as much as $100 million, sparking criticism as the federal government scrimps along during sequester-related budget cuts. Among the related costs will be fighter jets; hundreds of Secret Service agents; a Navy ship with a full trauma center; and military cargo planes to bring 56 vehicles including 14 limousines and three trucks loaded with sheets of bulletproof glass to cover the windows of the hotels where the first family will stay.

State Department Spokeswoman Jen Psaki said she was "not sure" whether the Taliban is designated as a terrorist organization when a reporter pressed her on negotiations between the United States and the Islamist group during Tuesday´s press briefing. These talks come on the heels of the Taliban opening offices in Qatar, allegedly to aid the Afghan government´s progress toward stability without a U.S. presence. The international coalition recently gave primary responsibility for Afghanistan´s security to the country´s army and police. Now the Taliban have opened offices in Qatar to facilitate talks for a political solution.

Cops might as well wear blindfolds if the City Council passes a bill that would let them use little more than the color of a suspect’s clothing in descriptions — or risk being sued for profiling, according to this provocative new ad (pictured) from the NYPD captains union. The ad asks, “How effective is a police officer with a blindfold on?” And the answer is not very, says the NYPD Captains Endowment Association, which is fighting the measure, claiming it would handcuff cops and send crime rates soaring. NEW YORK — The New York Police Department´s widespread spying programs directed at Muslims have undermined free worship by innocent people and should be declared unconstitutional, religious leaders and civil rights advocates said Tuesday after the filing of a federal lawsuit. A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
