GOP chief plans major

Washington- The chair, perhaps the most famous chair in political history, stands in the office of a large, nondescript cement building just a stone´s throw away from the U.S. Capitol. That´s right, the chair Clint Eastwood used as a prop in his rambling and at times incoherent critique of President Barack Obama at the Republican National Convention is now one of the many pieces of political memorabilia in Reince Priebus´ spacious office on First Street in Washington. The chairman of the Republican National Committee gets the joke; the chair is the first thing he points out to a reporter

Get Reince Priebus OUT of there !
He lied to Mark Levin on National Radio about giving RNC funding help to Michele Bachmann. He is no friend of the TEA party.
His resume should list losing the election for Romney.
OUT OUT OUT.

2012 was your chance.

The Republicans are totally ineffectual on the economy, and if they fold on guns, they´re done. Kaput.

Raise your hand if you think there will be an improvement. Thought so.

I think I´m ready for a third party, actually. We´ve been losing so what´s another few losses until one gets on its feet. For conservatives only. No libs/progressives allowed.

Overhaul? Is the GOP for real? Who are they trying to convince? The GOP acronym now stands for: GUTLESS OLD PARTY. Never again will I contribute in any way shape or form to any GOP congressional candidate. They all now appear to come out of a moth-ball closet. Unless a new National Party surfaces to take on the Democrats I will restrain for spending my time working for any party.

You don´t think they´re losertarians, #8? Yeah, a 3rd party. That´ll do the trick. That´ll stop the Dems from taking back the house.

Face it--it isn´t a conservative country, despite what people say to pollsters. Seniors want their welfare (SS and medicare)--and don´t pretend they "paid into" those; farmers want their subsidies; business wants their cheap labor from Mexico; students don´t want to pay for their own education; everyone wants freebies.

Hey Mark, just because you didn´t understand what Eastwood was saying doesn´t mean he was incoherent.

I´m very unhappy with the GOP, so unless they plan to embrace free-market capitalism (for real this time), then I doubt they´ll do anything that will help anyone going forward.

I´ll bet #10 enjoys the low food prices. Don´t think they are? Check food in Europe.
About twice as high. That is why the US subsidizes farmers so they can keep farming and sell for less and still keep on farming. Margins are close. Just think of the gasoline it takes to run those tractors back and forth across the fields!

GOP, Romney style, ??? The 47% ?? That is why GOP are losers. They don´t really know what they are talking about.

The Progs control all of the conduits of public discourse.

It may be too late to do this nicely.

I fear that harsher measures may have to be taken.

The Progs do not fight fair but they are also a bunch of panzies who count on their opponents being good sports and gentlemen.

While a full blown civil war may not be required to correct this situation.....something ´out of the ordinary´
surely will.

Someone crazier than this grumpy old Texan may be working on it right now.

I´m only speculating... but seriously.....

how long can this uncontested march towards tyranny go on before there is opposition from
those who value their liberty above all ??

How difficult can it be to find a coalition of people who love the Constitution, their country and fiscal sanity? I say dump the GOP and it´s associated label Republican - both are deader than the dodo.
People respond to humor - [democrats/pros/commies are singularly humorless.] We are an increasingly visual society - so let´s make some cracking good movies -[no Hollyweirds please], cartoons and billboards -anything that gets good public exposure and makes a point.

So, #10, SS & Medicare are welfare! And all this time I thought that SS was an annuity, and Medicare was an insurance plan!

No one forces farmers to collect subsidies, hire cheap (illegal) labor, or take out student loans.

Last time I checked, if one worked in the private sector, or some areas of government, they had NO CHOICE but to "contribute to SS & Medicare!

Let´s see. The Lame Stream loved McCain until he was nominated. Then, in ´12 they promoted a series of debates the purpose of which was to convince the GOP that another moderate was really a conservative and would be best for the party.

Last, the Obamanation didn´t show for the first debate because he new the fix was already in motion. "Ground Game" - my Royal Irish Posterior - won it for the RATs.

Chicago has been printing dead votes faster than the Fed can print Monopoly money since before JFK. How difficult is it to spread the system to other RAT controlled cities?

The article featured several recordings of the governor. Some believe what Martinez is heard saying could jeopardize her political aspirations. The recordings were published by Mother Jones, who said they’re from four years ago. The reporter said his article sheds light on a side of Martinez the public has never seen before, a

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

Vice President Joe Biden really did get ahead of President Barack Obama on accepting gay marriage in 2012 — and the White House really wasn’t happy about it, despite the two leaders’ many attempts to claim otherwise. That’s the story laid out in Jo Becker’s new book, “Forcing the Spring,” which documents the past few years of successful efforts to expand the legalization of gay marriage, according to an advance copy obtained by POLITICO. Speculation that Biden’s comments on “Meet the Press” in May 2012 were meant as a trial balloon, Becker writes, came from people “not privy to the

In an open letter to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, Carter and the nine other Nobel Peace Prize winners bluntly warned the leaders: “Your decision on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline will define your climate legacy.” The missive, published as an advertisement in Politico, represents the first time Carter has taken a position on the $5.4 billion project and makes him the first former president to come

President Obama said Wednesday that Russia realizes the U.S. military is “significantly superior” to its own and does not want war with the United States. Asked in an interview with CBS News about a Russian fighter buzzing a U.S. Navy ship in the Black Sea on Saturday, Obama said, “They’re not interested in any kind of military confrontation with us, understanding that our conventional forces are significantly superior to the Russians.” Obama accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of being behind uprisings in Ukraine in which government buildings have been taken over. Ukraine’s government has launched an operation against the separatists

AUSTIN, Tex. — The last nine months of Rick Perry’s tenure as the longest-serving governor of Texas were supposed to be a political victory lap. Greg Abbott, the Republican state attorney general, and Wendy Davis, the Democratic state senator, both of whom are vying to replace Mr. Perry, have been sparring across Texas. Meanwhile Mr. Perry has been traveling the country and the world promoting the robust Texas economy and bolstering his national profile as he considers another run for president in 2016. GUANTANAMO BAY NAVAL BASE—Victims of the 9/11 terror attacks expressed shock that the FBI may be meddling in the hearings here, and some speculated that it is part of an effort by the Obama administration to completely derail the hearings and force them into federal court stateside. Families of those killed in the 9/11 terror attacks traveled here with the intent of watching their family members’ accused killers face justice. However, many say they were horrified earlier this week when pre-trial hearings came to a halt over revelations that the FBI had launched an investigation into the accused terrorist’s defense

On Saturday, I wrote about the standoff at Bundy Ranch. That post drew a remarkable amount of traffic, even though, as I wrote then, I had not quite decided what to make of the story. Since then, I have continued to study the facts and have drawn some conclusions. Here they are. First, it must be admitted that legally, Bundy doesn’t have a leg to stand on. The Bureau of Land Management has been charging him grazing fees since the early 1990s, which he has refused to pay. Further, BLM has issued orders limiting the area on which Bundy’s cows can

I mean this sincerely - just to hear each of you speak. You´re truly, truly inspiring." The audience sat in stunned silence until Biden declared, "I´ve never heard anything so beautiful than

Casual marijuana use may come with some not-so-casual side effects. For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. Dr. Hans Breiter, co-senior study author, said he was inspired to look at the effects of casual

People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as
