| Size does matter - and two New Jersey men are suing to prove it. The pair have sued Subway, saying the world´s biggest fast-food chain has been shorting them on its so-called footlong sandwiches. The filing made Tuesday seeks compensatory damages from the company and a change in practices. Plaintiffs´ lawyer Stephen DeNittis says the company should either make their sandwiches 12 inches long or stop advertising them as footlongs. DeNittis, the lawyer for the plaintiffs in the New Jersey suit, said he´s seeking class-action status and is also preparing to file a similar suit in Pennsylvania

Unless Subway specifically stated their `footlongs` were 12" there is no case. As they already declared, footlong is just a term for a long sandwich. In the meantime, better check those footlong hotdogs.....

who cares about the bread? I don´t eat at Subway because they don´t put any MEAT, even if you order double meat, in their sandwiches. Salad on a bun, period.

The boys may be nitpickers but they are correct. I love the subs and have been buying them regularly for years. Over the past 7 years, they have become shorter and narrower, less bread and less main ingredients. Oh, and the prices have increased significantly. But most other fast food chains have done the same.

What do the plaintiffs weigh? See what they say, then put them on a certified scale. Taking bets they underestimate. I´m going to sue!

The usually-cocksure Jay Carney has rarely appeared so uncomfortable. “What I can tell you is that this president believes strongly in the First Amendment and is a strong defender of the First Amendment,” Carney insisted to a packed house of angry reporters last Tuesday afternoon. The White House had just been freshly stung by news that the Department of Justice had secretly raided the phone records of up to 100 Associated Press reporters, looking to identify the news organization’s private sources. He believes strongly in the need for the press to be unfettered in its pursuit of investigative journalism,”

President Obama "was kept up to date" on the terror attack in Benghazi "throughout the entire night, from the moment it started until the very end," the president´s senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer told "Fox News Sunday." But repeatedly pressed for details on where the president was and what the president was doing on the night of Sept. 11, 2012, Pfeiffer dodged the question, saying only that Obama was "kept up to date with the events as they were happening." Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace, pressing Pfeiffer to fill in the blanks, noted that Obama was

BAGHDAD— A string of car bombs and shootings killed at least 57 people in Shiite and Sunni areas of Iraq on Monday, officials said, escalating fears of a return to widespread sectarian bloodletting in the country. The attacks, some of which hit market places and crowded bus stops during the morning rush hour, pushed the death toll in Iraq since Wednesday to more than 200. The bloodshed over the past week has been reminiscent of the retaliatory attacks between Sunnis and Shiites that pushed the country to the brink of civil war in 2006-2007.

On the May 19 broadcast of CNN´s State of the Union, host Candy Crowley said that Obama was late in identifying the attacks in Benghazi as terrorism quite contrary to what she said during the Presidential debates late last year. As Crowley questioned White House spokesman Dan Pfeiffer, she pressed him on whether or not the President was aware of the Benghazi talking points being written and re-written by the Department of State and the intel community, re-writes that eventually eliminated any mention that the attacks were perpetrated by terrorists. In reply, Pfeiffer blithely told Crowley that "no president"

The IRS scandal keeps getting closer and closer to the top of the White House food chain as Obama officials desperately try to spin their way out of mounting evidence and foul play. The Wall Street Journal is reporting President Obama´s top attorney knew about the IRS targeting weeks ago before news broke, but of course, Obama still didn´t know about it until he learned about it "from the news." The White House´s chief lawyer learned weeks ago that an audit of the Internal Revenue Service likely would show that agency employees inappropriately targeted conservative groups,

ATLANTA –When Ed Buckner and his family went to a north Georgia state park to celebrate his son´s birthday, he was surprised and concerned to find Bibles in the state-owned cabin he had rented. An atheist, Buckner believes that no religious literature should be provided in government-owned lodging, and he presented that concern to management at the Amicalola Falls State Park. Officials told Buckner they would remove the Bibles from all state park resorts while the state attorney general looked into the matter. Not long afterward, however, the AG issued a ruling saying the state

COLLEGE PARK, Md- Chief executive officer of large organizations all face the same problem -- driving their agendas in organizations too diverse and geographically dispersed to manage directly. They hire competent managers for their units, set goals and establish clear metrics for evaluating performance. As in politics, competition in business is tough and CEOs must set ethical boundaries for their managers´ conduct. In all this, the CEO´s personal conduct is critical. Early in his presidency, Barack Obama flaunted U.S. constitutional tradition by pushing through major social legislation, Obamacare, without a bipartisan compromise and consensus.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. He said it isn´t difficult to figure out who´s doing what at the agency.

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

Washington – Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-MO, issued a video statement Friday in response to reports that the Internal Revenue Service unfairly targeted conservative nonprofit groups. (Snip) “There’s a reason Lady Justice wears a blindfold in America. That is because in America, we don’t apply the law based on who you are, who you know, or what you believe. We apply the law equally.” “We should not only fire the head of the IRS, which has occurred, but we’ve got to go down the line and find every single person who had anything to do with this and make sure

"Can you see in your mind´s eye a way that this might not have been political, that this was a misguided stupid way to sort, but that they didn´t intend it to be some kind of political attempt to harass the Tea Party?" So actually asked CNN´s Candy Crowley of her guest Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) concerning the Internal Revenue Service scandal Sunday (video follows with transcript and commentary):CANDY CROWLEY, HOST: Moving on to the IRS problem at this moment, which is really sort of in its infancy. There will be lots more hearings coming up this week
